These are incredible
I bought these almost a year ago, and I've been meaning to post a review ever since, something I rarely do; but I think they are extraordinary. So extraordinary that I've bought three pairs, and given each of two to different close friends, who all love them as much as I do. Where do I start? First of all, I enjoy having them as OBJECTS. Their weight (rather substantial for their small size), rugged consrtruction, and silvery beauty are what makes them more effective than any recording of chimes or prayer bowel "music" I could have on my phone, computer or iPad. I have experimented with sound quality and volume using different environments for these two attractive discs. The only way to change the volume on each is the second little button, which can be pushed twice, each push increasing the volume. But there there also are other ways to affect both the volume and the tone quality of the chimes. For example, I have a plastic box that I currently keep them in, separated from each other by about 4 inches. The vibrations of the box increase the volume of the discs, and for me that is a plus. Depending upon where you put them, the tonal quality of the sound is different. If I put them on the couch, the material absorbs some of the sound, and a clean, not very loud sound is produced. If, on the other hand, I put them on a glass table top, the sound is larger and the quality more "echo-y." The other great thing about them is that the automatic 3-minute soundscapes they produce change endlessly. Every "melody" is a new one. What is more, these devices have a hellavuh battery, because they only need to be recharged every few months. Mostly I use them just before sleep. The moment those tones begin, my consciousness becomes part of them. Inevitably during a session, my mind wanders, but as soon as I become aware of not listening to them, my mind returns to listening. You need to stay loose about that. Any rigid attempt to "pay attention" won't relax you, so these mini-departures from listening feel natural and right. By the end of 3 minutes, the tension in my neck, shoulders, back, and legs starts to ease up. There's no occult mystery here. I went through a period quite a few years ago when I wanted to find out everything I could about hypnotism. What I learned is that hypnotism is just a method of distracting the focus of your consciousness. Despite current claims of multitasking, the brain can really only focus on one thing at a time, so, in hypnosis, the therapist will often have you stare at a spot on the wall, or even a small bright object swinging back and forth in front of your eyes like a pendulum. Once your mind becomes fixed on such minimal sensory input, the tensed muscles in your body, which are caused by anxious thoughts, probably without your realizing it, suddenly find themselves free of being told what to do by your perverse thoughts, and they let go, returning to their natural state of relaxation. Your muscles relax, because they've been released from the anxious thoughts that were making them tense up. You can't think those thoughts because your mind if fixed to a point on the wall or the movements of a swinging pendulum. I believe these chimes do the same thing, and this is such a pleasant experience!

Simple and yet effective
Quite the most eclectic and also the most effective product I've ever owned, I lose track of time completely in the three minutes of audio, and something in the interplay of the two sound sets does what i can only describe as a soft reset of the brain. Judging by the responses from several people I've shared them with, the sounds are not universally appealing - if you're not sure, use the link on the product page to find the video on the seller's website - you can hear the tones in that video. But for me it works beautifully, and the results are a sense of calm and feeling 'centered'. Great before sleeping if you come home with a bunch of work stuff in your head, also good for just recentering yourself in the middle of the day. Update: one of the speakers stopped working after a few months. The customer service was excellent, with a quick exchange of emails i had a new speaker (no questions asked) via mail within 5 days and a prepaid return for the old one. Still a great buy and i continue to recommend this product very highly.

Delightful sound experience!
I thoroughly enjoy these mini magical music pucks! The sound quality is absolutely fantastic and I love the calming Tibetan bowl tones that gently wash over me. The way the sound resonates between my ears and through my brain is eargasmic! Think ASMR meets meditation. It's almost like I become one with the tones and vibrations. Why did I buy these little speakers? I didn't NEED them. Oh, yeah...it's because I have so much tension, stress and anxiety I thought that I might enjoy a little daily relaxation break! Yes, they were pricey. Will I send them back because I feel guilty for spending so much on a luxury item? Nope. I have had them for nearly a week and I've fallen in love with these puppies! I would be sad if I sent them back. Honestly, I don't know of any other item that would compare to this experience - headphones are not the same nor is just listening to singing bowls on a regular speaker. The closest comparison is watching Tibetan singing bowls on YouTube on my Oculus. Even that does not provide the same experience. I knew when I bought the n.o.w. system that they only played for 3 minutes at a time. I understand that's they way the inventor wanted it and he has his reasons. BUT, like so many people on here have mentioned, 3 minutes is not long enough and I always want more time. There is a workaround for that issue if you look in the question/answer section on Amazon. I did this and now they play for a long time. I don’t know how long because I haven’t listened long enough bey it’s been 40 min and still chiming. My apologies to the inventor for hacking them, buy I like it a lot better now that it plays longer. I think the n.o.w. system is fantastic. It provides a wonderful calming effect. While using n.o.w., I feel like I can let go and lose myself in the tones. Quite enjoyable!

These are GREAT! My friends love them, too!
I've had them for about 2 weeks now and have been using them both with friends and by myself. They're simple little things, but the tones meld perfectly and take you "a level deeper," so to speak. My friend described it as a "veil" of relaxation coming over her (in a good way!). Another friend was having some "me time" and kept turning one and then the other one to keep a loop going -- she found it quite relaxing! The weight is perfect -- they're heavier than one would expect, and it is nice and "grounding." If you place them on your body, say, on your chest if you are lying down or your shoulders/collar bones, you can feel the vibrations, which are a nice touch. I just put one in front of me and one behind me as I sit cross-legged and like that effect, as well. Yes, the are expensive. I bought them because I need to change some things (nothing changes if nothing changes), and the price would make me actually use them and actually meditate. I deserve that, especially for costing ~$0.50/day for one year (I'm rounding way up to include tax). If you think a good habit of calmness is worth $0.50 a day for 3 or 6 minutes, there you go. I have wasted my money on many things -- I have not wasted it here. This ADDS value. How many things can say that?

5 week review update
After 1 week: I struggle a lot to clear my mind when trying to meditate. I guess I am neurotic, constantly thinking, solving problems in my life, the spinning mind never stops. So I was hoping this would force it to stop. It does not. You still gotta work on not thinking. I find the sounds it makes almost like a hug. Its hard to explain, but I keep finding myself thinking "oh, thank you..." for the unexpected sound massage, like it hit just the note and I could feel the sound in my body exactly where I needed it. Cozy. Comforting. When playing it at bedtime, usually whoever is listening (me, my husband or my teen daughter) fall asleep after listening 2-3 times. Thats rather nice. I will keep trying and update the review. My goal for 2023 is regular meditation. Fingers crossed. Week 3 update: my daughter had major surgery with many complications. I mainly bought this to help her anxiety for her traumatic post surgical care. The anxiety is intense, sometimes it takes up to 10 hrs to accomplish her therapy of 15 minutes. I’ve tried everything I can think of to help her. These are part of her process. She has to calm down to do the therapy or it won’t work, so we use these speakers to meditate before. She likes them so much she often plays them 2-4 times before starting. Sometimes I lie there next to her getting pissed my mind wandered again and hoping she will press play again. And she does 😋 Funny that we both find ourselves craving it now. Not funny they are always in her room and I have to hunt them down, but hey, I was the ride along. Follow the sound is my only suggestion. It seems easier than other meditation methods I’ve tried. Week 5 update: I can’t really explain why these things feel so good. I find myself wishing they were next to me when I’m randomly cozy somewhere. Like I’m craving them. I like to hold one against my heart chakra… kinda cool to feel the physical vibration and also feel it at the same time internally but more like emotionally? I still suck at meditating, often I find myself wandering off and coming back and going gosh I hope there is still time left before it’s over. 🤦♀️ but I also kind of forgot about them for a week. Hoping I still get better at paying attention to the sounds for 3 freeking minutes. That should not be so hard. I did read that introverts have very active minds, even while at rest, more so than extroverts. Maybe that’s my excuse! 🤪😭 My daughters anxiety is still bad. But it’s not unwarranted, she has to do painful therapy 3x a day… I think anyone would freak out at that. She said she needed a break from these because of so many unsuccessful therapy days in a row, now they feel connected to that. So she took a week off. Trying them again now that she’s had some successful therapy days. Still optimistic. Not exactly sure what they are doing but if you want to hold a hug in your hands… here ya go! 🔊🔊 (Btw just got the carrying case available on their website for $15)

I intended to return this product when it didn't live up to what people said
It's 160 bucks for 2 little speakers that claims from some its reviews that you achieve 20 minutes worth of meditation in 3 minutes. I would say you get 10 minutes worth of GOOD meditation from 3 minutes, 20 minutes worth of so-so meditation in 3 minutes. Absolutely buy this. Read on for my story. 3 years ago I started having very bad sleep due to stressors in my life. I would sleep and it would feel like I thought all night. It was as if I didn't sleep. I never felt rested and my mind and body would be weak as a result. I was in a constant state of tiredness and it would reset every night when my sleep quality was terrible. I tried OTC sleep meds, I tried not using them, I tried CBD, alcohol just to knock me out and the quality was terrible. Finally I discovered Sam Harris and his praise of meditation and bought his app for a year. The first time I meditated for 10 minutes (which was at bedtime), right before the 10 minute mark I felt this incredible urge to sleep and slept like a baby for the first time in a very long time. I knew my problems then stemmed from an unclean room (my mind). I likened my mind to an unclean room and every now and then I felt the need to clean it up through meditation. For the next 3 subsequent years I'd meditate on and off. It was difficult to get to a meditative state in the original 10 minutes, and I would require 20+ minutes of meditation for a result I wanted, and even that wasn't guaranteed because of my stubbornness to dedicate enough time to meditation. In that regard, if you allocate enough time and get what you need out of meditation, you don't necessarily need this product. I then searched on amazon for this device that vibrates and it's a bracelet/anklet and it helped bring you into the moment, but it wasn't sold on amazon, however this turned up. I had some amazon gift card credit and figured I could return this when it absolutely didn't work and I'd move on and try other things. The problem was that it did work. VERY well. The vibration, the sounds with no pattern, the quality of the speakers, it drives the tones into your head and you immediately get transported to a blank, mindful head-space. Suddenly you hear the sounds in the room, you notice the objects in the room you didn't before, you notice the sunlight hitting everything. It works, and it's 3 minutes. I often run it back to back, up to 3 times, if I want to guarantee a good meditation session, but since buying this and using it before bed, I have slept consistently amazingly. I wish it wasn't 160 buck but I am absolutely not returning it. Although I wish I wanted to.

Well made, very relaxing - Update after using 1.5 years
This showed up on my Amazon home page. It looked super expensive (overpriced) but I was curious and clicked anyway. After reading the reviews, I tried it out - I’d been searching for something a little indulgent to reward my self for accomplishing a difficult task the prior week. These are soooooo lovely. The simplicity is elegant. Three minutes is perfect (no excuses). The sound and gentle vibrations are enchanting. Contrary to what you may think, you CANNOT get the same effect with a recording or an app. I’ve had for a week and use several times per day. The sound is gentle / innocuous enough that it doesn’t bother my spouse if he’s working or if I’m out on the balcony. I’ll even use these if I have just a few minutes before logging into a meeting - it’s amazing what those few minutes of centering can do. Can you meditate without these? Of course (and I do). These are also many lovely apps. But if you want something tangible and elegant, a physical “thing” to remind you, a meditation”assistant” that doesn’t involve your phone or any needless technology, or have trouble focusing / returning your mind to the practice every time it inevitably wanders, these are absolutely lovely and very helpful. UPDATE - Been using these 1.5 years. After six months of using them I fell and broke a bone. It was of course very painful but the practice of meditation I developed using these chimes allowed me to cultivate that same feeling and be “okay” through the pain waiting for hours in the ER (whenever I had to do something or talk to someone it was so bad I blacked out). The chimes aren’t magic but make it so much easier to have a point of focus to return to when you mind wanders, and cultivating the tiny three minute practice has helped to train my brain such that I’m now able to bring myself into that meditation space even without the chimes. As I write this I’m traveling for work and note that I still bring the chimes with me in my suitcase! These are expensive but worth every penny. Not sure why but they work infinitely better than the various apps on my phone. They’re pretty and feel nice to hold as well. Can’t say enough.

Surprisingly Good
I've started using N.O.W. as part of my daily practice. The tones are soothing, and interplay nicely between the ears when placed either side of the head. I used them at about 1-2ft away in a quiet room. Any closer and they are too loud for me. But this will depend on your background noise level. N.O.W. is a great tool for a quick meditation when you feel like you don't have time for a long sit. I'd say that's their biggest feature; They are kind of like the fast food of meditation, in a good way. They allow me to keep my practice going when life's walls a squeezing in and stealing my time. They feel solid, like they will survive a few knocks. And they are quite aesthetically pleasing too. The SD cards inside are MSDOS32 format, and open on a Mac without any extra software. On the SD card you can see the .wav files and even add your own. This is a great feature, that I hope they will keep, as it will allow me to record wind chimes, and other sounds I would like to meditate to. The .wav format is 44.1khz 16bit (CD quality). This quality sounds absolutely fine for this application, though higher quality would be preferred. Things to improve: - Add more volume levels (I would like an ultra-quiet level for using at night). - Provide additional sound packs for people to purchase and download. - Allow 196khz 24bit wav files, for an ultra-high quality audio experience. (May not be possible with the current hardware.

I really enjoy these
These are so perfect my husband and I use them twice a day. We just feel balanced, very relaxing to use. Helps me to meditate, without my mind wandering. I had a problem with one speaker, a simple thing, and the company fixed the problem immediately.

Very highly recommended!
I've really enjoyed using the N.O.W. system, having tried my hand at many different methods of meditation and mindfulness, this system definitely helps me focus in ways I haven't achieved with any other method. I often find my work to be a source of anxiety and stress, but have found that using the N.O.W. system before and after work sessions has helped me greatly in my ability to connect and disconnect, making me more productive yet also more content in my home life. Very highly recommended!

Well made, wish for a little more feature
Product is well made, good sound. Wished it had a little more settings like a selectable timer of 3 minute and 5 minutes instead of just 3 minutes.
