Excellent germination rate; good quality; good cold tolerance
I'm very pleased with the germination rate and vigor of these spinach seeds. I got a 90+% germination rate which for spinach is quite good. As with any spinach seed, it's important to prepare the seeds before planting. There are a number of ways to do this -- lots of info online as to options. The method I've used for years with great results is: 1. Soak the seeds for 24 hours at room temp. 2. Drain and spread them out on a paper towel to dry. 3. Once they are fully dry (takes about a day) I put them in an airtight container in the fridge for 24 to 48 hours on top of a slight damp paper towel. 4. Take them out and plant outdoors. I use a planting depth of about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. (optional step 5: cover the planting bed with scrap window screening to keep the squirrels out. They like to bury their nuts for winter in freshly worked garden beds which will totally mess up all your planting efforts.) Keep in mind that spinach will only germinate in soil that is below 70'ish degrees F, so this is a spring or fall crop only. I live in an area with hot, humid summers, so I only do a fall planting (in Sept and/or early Oct). This variety (Bloomsdale) is quite cold tolerant and does well even with frost with minimal protection. Good quality seeds at a decent price -- five stars.

Good Enough
Soaked them for a day in a paper towel, and then planted them in dirt in a planter. About half the seeds germinated which was "good enough" a result for me, not being a pro gardener.

Good value
Spinach prefers cooler temps so I like to plant it in my raised beds over winter. It grows slowly and by late spring, the plants should be ready for harvest. Because I was too late this year in getting the seed packets (from Home Depot or Lowe's, our only local sources) I ordered two packs here on Amazon and they arrived just fine. They should begin sprouting in another 7 to 9 days.

Amazing spinach
I'm already harvesting the spinach just a month later. This is also some of the best tasting spinach I've ever grown or purchased. There is zero bitterness and the flavor is buttery and smooth. All I did to grow it is mound up some garden soil with a few handfuls of bloodmeal and water consistently. Id recommend covering it with insect netting to keep the caterpillars away.

Excellent Germination—Perfect for Fall Gardening
This was my first time trying a fall cold crop garden, and these spinach seeds impressed me right away. I planted them in early September, and they germinated within a week—very high germination rate! The seedlings look healthy and strong. Great choice for beginners or anyone looking to extend their growing season. Highly recommend!
