These have a very strong smell of...something. smells like laundry sheets and cigarettes. It won't come out. I really like the pants, just not sure what to do

The fabric is a bit thin
The fabric is a bit thin, but the design and loose waistband are perfect. It says hand wash, but it was a little big for me anyway, so I machine washed it. It shrunk a bit, but it still fits me well.
