Lenovo YOGA 3-850F 16GB

We bought this tablet for our 3 year old daughter who loved playing various educational games on my other half's iPad before she unfortunately dropped it and shattered the screen. Buying another iPad for a 3 year old to abuse was out of the question and to be honest it was a little bit on the large and heavy side for her little hands anyway.After much research we settled on this one and I have to say we are 100% happy with the purchase. The screen is sharp and colourful, the sound is clear and punchy the battery life is amazing and most importantly it's tough enough to withstand the rigours of an abusive 3 year old whilst still being light enough for her to support with one hand. The latter part is mainly due to all the weight (i.e. the battery) being located at one end of the tablet, so if you rest that part on your legs the rest of the tablet has virtually no weight.Of course for use on a table there is the excellent built in kick stand. This is made of metal and is extremely robust and is released with a simple button press. My daughter can easily extend the stand without any help from us, a welcome change from the origami-esque folding stand that was built into our iPad case.My little girl had insisted that the new tablet must be pink but since this wasn't possible we opted for this case:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-YOGA-8-Inch-Flip-Case/dp/B015IZ5IXK/For the money it does the job well and offers a little extra protection for the device. Most importantly though, it's the "right" colour! It's worth noting that the range of cases for this tablet is a little more limited than for most devices. This seems to be partly due to the slightly odd shape and I suppose also due to the fact that this is always going to a be a lot less popular than the latest Samsung or Apple device.Overall I would whole heartedly recommend this device. Obviously it's not a top of the range spec but for playing simple games, watching Netflix or YouTube or just general web browsing the performance is more than adequate. The stand out features for us are the build quality, the kick stand and the battery life (which I believe is currently the best of any tablet on the market).

Having read many reviews online I ordered this through Amazon, though it shipped from a supplier in Europe. It arrived within a week and came with a UK adapter for the EU charger along with additional instructions. Many reviewers criticized the screen though I've found it to be excellent, being sharp and bright. It's 720 HD after all, and at 8 inches is very impressive. Build quality is good and it feels solid. The 4G works well and means I don't have to rely on WiFi. A data-only sim from GiffGaff went straight in and it was up and running in minutes. The funny shape that houses the battery and kick-stand (very useful) provides a very comfortable grip when used in portrait position. The battery life is very impressive indeed. It's possible to get two days out of it without charging. Overall, very impressed and would thoroughly recommend it. UPDATE : The more I use this tablet, the more I like it's quality and versatility. When I put it next to the iPad Mini 4 that I use at work, I find that I prefer the screen quality of the Yoga device. It's easier to hold, and the integral stand makes it much more useful. In fact, the iPad doesn't get used at all now which is a shame since it was about three times the price of the Yoga.

I'm really pleased that I bought this tablet, as a pensioner I find it very easy to use and light to hold. I use it as a Kindle, web browser, and I'm sure that there is an "app" to suit everyone! The 8Mp rotatable camera is superb, you can even draw with a metal stylus without scratching the screen!(If you download a drawing app). It is so much faster than using a laptop. If I damaged or lost mine, I would buy another instantly! I'd be lost without it! Cliff G.

I didn't expect too much from this tablet but I have to say I am really impressed by it.Firstly the build quality is excellent. The body is aluminium with a rubberised coating that is really comfortable to hold. The cylindrical spine of that tablet also makes it very easy to hold. It is rather heavy for a tablet of this size but to me it feels like it goes well with the solid build quality which i doubt you will find in any other tablet at this price..Part of the weight is due to the battery which is easily the best I have come across. The battery life is stated as 18-20 hours. I'm not sure I will get that but compared to a tablet I purchased recently (and sent back) it's really impressive.The screen is bright and sharp perhaps not the best at this size but more than good enough for my needs.For a tablet the camera is excellent. There is a single rotating 8mp camera in the spine which takes sharp well exposed pictures. Unlike other tablets in this price bracket you do not have to take low quality front facing images as the main camera can be spun round for high quality video calling and selfies!The speakers are easily the best I have heard on any tablet. The Dolby Atmos system really enhances the sound when using either the speakers or headphones. The speakers are loud and clear. Of course they lack any real bass but movie watching is still a pleasurable experience.A downside for some users will be the low power of the processor. It struggles with multitasking and won't be a great gaming tablet. I personally didn't buy it for gaming but this will be a deal breaker for some people. It runs the Microsoft Office apps, Google play movies and Amazon Video with no problem at all. For me these were important.The software is simple and I really like it that way. The Android version is is almost totally stock and isn't full of bloat-ware which made it much more pleasurable to set up. I didn't find myself spending hours deleting or disabling loads of add on software that I didn't want. This also makes the performance (even with the low powered processor) smooth and quick.The integrated kick stand (operated with a button on the back of the tablet) is a nice addition. It is a well made, rotating stand which allows you to stand the tablet up for easy movie watching.All in all a really impressive tablet that does everything I want it to, its probably not for those demanding high-end performance or a fast gaming tablet but for anyone anyone looking for a great value entertainment tablet; this is perfect.

It is a lovely tablet, great, clear picture and good sound. Very quick delivery. very pleased with this purchase.
