I've used this wonderful product for over 2 years now I believe, I didn't realise I hadn't left a review for it. As a voiceover artist, I initially didn't realise how important it was to have decent headphones as I thought mine were okay quality enough but I was blown away by the level of detail and the voice I was now finally able to hear. I was EQing all wrong prior and I feel like a fool because of it, but this is just a lesson that one had to learn. If standard smartphone earphones were at a 20% sound quality marker, and some generic overear headphones at around 50%, these pair of Sony headphones feel like a solid 100%. (Tinny monitor speakers would be the 0% mark!) The immersion feels great and the bass is fantastic too. I have read that it can be too good at times and thinks it hears things but from my perspective I've not had such encounters, it must be for people who regularly produce music to notice these things, but my untrained ear struggles to perceive these minute details. One admittance, I dropped these headphones once and one of the "ears" kind of fell off, but it was fairly easy to re-clip it back in, so I'm glad they weren't broken or anything. So points for durability there! I have worn these headphones for hours on end, so they're not uncomfortable. It can get a bit hot as they are fully over-ear but only after very long sessions. I've never caught my hair on these so that's a plus unlike the ones that they hand out in planes (!). Ultimately this was a purchase from Amazon warehouse and I was very pleased, it definitely amped up my voiceover abilities and it's something I don't regret buying. Whilst I was researching, these tended to be reviewed as industry standard at least some time for the past decade and more. Things might have changed now but these were very popular - I just remembered during a networking event, I saw a child of a voiceover using these headphones too! They must be good and renown! Pros: - Great for sound-related careers - Comfortable with size adjustments optional - Durable - Long cables Cons: - Worried one day the main wire could be damaged and since it's fully intergrated with the body of the headphones, it can't be replaced. - Worried the leather-style material will wither away

The Sony MDR-7506 lives up to its reputation as a studio staple, and after using them, I can see why they’ve been a mainstay for audio professionals since the early 90s. The detailed sound is fantastic—crisp highs, clear mids, and a tight, controlled bass that works well across everything I’ve thrown at them, from EDM to classical. They’re lightweight but feel robust, with a solid build that inspires confidence. I also love that Sony hasn’t changed anything about them over the years, keeping that classic 90s hi-fi look intact. Negatives? • They fit almost like an on-ear headphone—my ears touch the insides of the cup and the foam in front of the driver, which can get a little uncomfortable over time. • I wish they had a detachable cable—if the cable ever breaks, it means replacing the whole pair rather than just swapping out a cable. That said, none of this is a deal-breaker, and I’m already looking at replacing the pads to improve comfort. For the price, sound quality, and heritage, these are an easy 5-star purchase.

These have replaced a pair of old Technics cans that have seen better days and the difference in quality is incredible. Don't buy these if you are one of those morons on the tube that likes thumping bass at head shrinking volume - these are not for you. If, however, you need a fairly flat response closed headphone that can be worn for long periods with minimal leakage then you will struggle to beat these for the price. For studio and instrument work with digital piano, guitar and a range of soft synths these are excellent with a subtle richness to the bass, great mid range and high end. You can almost certainly do vocal work with these too with no risk of leakage contaminating the mix. With my old cans it was hard to distinguish between mp3 and CD audio to be honest, not so now. You can hear what you're missing with these. Build quality looks solid, not a huge fan of coiled cable but it keeps things tidy. A very good fit and comfortable on the ear (although this depends to an extent on your particular ears I guess). Packaging - just a tad OTT imo - these are only cans after all but it might make you feel justified in the price paid. Personally - you could have shipped me these in a plain old cardboard box and I would still have been delighted. All round an excellent piece of kit fully deserving of five stars. P.S. I've now owned these headphones for over 12 years and I've burned through a couple of sets of replacement ear pads in that time. The headband is now just starting to show signs of wear, the cable has stretched a bit and I'm detecting just a few hints of distortion if I push them too far (but they still sound pretty good). I have used these daily: for listening to, recording, mastering and mixing music. I use them with my Yamaha classical guitar (which has a headphone out socket) and for my Roland keyboard - with numerous virtual pianos and instruments. So these really have been put through their paces over the years and they remain my only headphones. As I reluctantly start to think about replacing them, I am struggling to think of a better headphone for my requirement at this price point. My only real gripe is the cable - if I could switch between curly and straight, that would be the icing on the cake. Rest assured, if you buy these and look after them, they will last you a good long while.

These are pretty decent headphones, offering pretty well balanced sound. The materials and build quality seems good, although as they're foldable then these hinges could be a potential point of failure down the line. I find them comfortable to wear as the pads cup over my ears perfectly. Your mileage may vary here, especially if you have rather large ears! The cable is long and feels robust. It uses a spiral cable similar to what old landline telephones had. However, this construction does make the cable far heavier than standard cables which makes them inappropriate to wear on the go. As mentioned, sound quality is good. However, if you are partial to strong bass then there are better options. The overall sound is very 'default' if you get my meaning, with lows, mids and highs all being equal in prominence.

These are really stylish and reminds me of some my dad had in the 80s although slightly better colour and style on these more modern ones they are definitely styled with the originals in mind. These work really well as a Studio Monitor as they state on the head strap in a stylish and quality way. Classic cushioned ear muff style and wrap over the head make them comfortable and warm while also for me creating more ambience in the listening experience as the sound has an area to reverberate within as you listen rather than directly to the eardrum with an in-ear headphones. They have a classic style curly wire to the jack that is easily long enough for use at a studio desk or at home and I am using them with a professionally branded microamp I bought on Amazon for guitar, making them a fantastic combination together. Great value for money, these are the most affordable of the 3 in the series, I would love to hear the difference between these and one of the more expensive pairs but having never heard them, these are clear, comfortable and work exactly as intended. Comes with larger stereo jack adapter as well. They also come with a nice and durable soft bag to store and carry them in, which is great and I find very useful. Well worth spending over £80 as they will last the rest of my life while I make sure they are kept well. Definitely recommend for durability, ease of use, style and most importantly, sound

The sound quality is really good, especially the bass. The sound is clear and crisp and not muffled. I love them. Very soft and comfortable over the ear, also not tight fitting on the head. It can be adjusted. I use it on my very old keyboard and I get a much better sound quality with these headphones than without them. The music sound in the video is coming through the headphones from my old keyboard. The price is a little steep but it's Sony, and I got a pair of good headphones with solid sound quality. So they may be a little expensive but I have no regrets. It also has a long flexicable which is really convenient for my use. The earphones are a perfect fit over the ears, and they cancel out most background noises but not all, but when the music drops in my ears, I can barely hear anything else, leaving me with 💯 focus on the music. I'd say they're at the low end of 'professional' quality, but a good pair of headphones nevertheless. I'd definitely buy these again.

I’ve wanted a pair of these Sony Studio Monitor headphones for ages. They have a light airy and transparent presentation so ideal for casual listening. In my opinion they deserve the hype they receive. Plus a great price in the Amazon Prime sale so a real bargain. Truly the best sub £100 cans on the market.
