High quality product
The only way I make my coffee. I use it everyday. Better than a coffee maker. No bitter or stale taste that carries over.

The greatest coffeemaker I've ever owned
The think I like most about my Chemex is how simple it is. There are no moving parts, the brewer is also the server, and it is very very easy to clean. It also happens to make *amazing* coffee. I've been using it for about a month now and I'm still dialing in the perfect grind/water temp/pouring method, but even the very first cup was pretty freaking good. One thing that is not simple about this coffee maker is actually making the coffee. It's not hard or anything, and it comes with decent directions (and there are plenty of tutorials on the internet), but it is an involved process. Heating the water, grinding the beans, unfolding the filter just right and rinsing it, then carefully pouring the water over the grounds all takes time and attention. However, for me this is a plus. I like having the little morning ritual to get ready for the day. Speaking of beans, I've learned the hard way that the Chemex really shows the difference between beans roasted a few months ago and beans roasted a few days ago. Get the freshest beans you can! It also turns out that this item is great for making Japanese-style iced coffee. The basic idea is to replace some of the hot water that you would pour over the grounds with ice cubes below. Again, I'm still working on getting the ratios right, but the glass that the Chemex is made from seems to tolerate the extreme temperature differences of 200 degree water and ice cubes without any problems. If you are serious about coffee, or you want a simple device for brewing coffee, and you don't mind having to do a little song and dance to brew, I absolutely recommend a Chemex!

Best Coffee Ever - Buy larger size though
We switched from making espresso/americano to this for a nice change. Oh my. Delicious. Be sure to buy a much larger size than what is listed since their cup is only 5oz...no idea why? Had to return for larger size. 10 cup makes two standard coffee mugs, or maybe three if you keep filling the top funnel.

Great flavor and easy to use.
This is my second Chemex. I have the one with the wooden collar and though I love it’s look I found cleaning a pain because you have to remove the wooden collar and then tie it back on with the leather thong and doing that every day became a chore. Also more difficult to hold while pouring. So ordered the same size with the handle and love it. The glass also seems a bit thicker on this one and I like the more substantial feel. Same great coffee, I can keep the coffee warm on low on my gas stove, and much easier to hold while pouring and to clean.

Top quality
Top quality glass coffee maker. Heavy duty, washes well. Doesn’t stain.

Beautiful Coffee Pot, Great Coffee
This is my third Chemex pour-over coffee pot. The Chemex pots are very beautiful and easy to use. No plastic; only non-toxic sturdy glass. Of course, it is glass, so you have to treat it as such. But if you don’t drop it or hit it on something, you are good to go, and it will last for years. Because of the curved design, you have to find a long handled brush to clean it. You can put the pot right on to a gas burner to keep your coffee hot, or an electric burner using a wire grid. The Chemex coffee filters are wonderful, very pure, and cut any bitterness from the coffee. I’m very satisfied with my Chemex.

Beautiful and easy with one minor flaw
The Chemex makes it easy (and almost fool proof) to brew a great cup of coffee. If you’re just starting out manually brewing coffee at home, I’d say this is the way to go. On the days you just don’t want to experiment With other methods, don’t have enough time, or just want a quick no frills coffee, or need to make a lot of coffee at once, the Chemex is a winner. However, if you take the plunge I suggest purchasing a Chemex with over a 6 cup capacity and possibly without the glass handle. On the 6 cup Chemex with a handle, there is a lip on the pour spout that doesn’t allow me to slowly transfer brewed coffee from the Chemex to a mug without it dribbling around and down the lip, which spills coffee on the mug and counter. A workaround to this is to pour fast and steady. I use another carafe when I brew coffee with a V-60 or Kalita wave and that never happens, slow pour or not (those are also my go-to brew methods with Kalita Wave for the win, which I highly suggest learning and brewing coffee with if you’re brewing any type of premium coffee at home). Since I don’t use the Chemex much, I often forget to pour fast so I’m cleaning up coffee off my mug and counter almost every time. It’s a small gripe and price to pay for a beautiful and easy brew method, but it’s a nuisance enough to warrant inclusion in this review. Go big and purchase the original design if you can. I purchased the one with the handle because I test drove the original Chemex 10-cup capacity (which is stunning as well and does not dribble coffee on the counter) but it is bottom heavy and doesn’t include a handle which made me feel like I would break it.

An excellent small pour-over pot
This is a handy size for making a full mug of coffee when you only want one at a time. Chemex uses a measurement of 5 ounces per cup, for whatever reason, and these make up to four (4) cups of that size. Paired with a high-efficiency metal filter this is an outstanding way to make a good cup of pour-over coffee. The built in(on) handle is very nice for carrying and pouring.

Love Chemex
These things are the best. No one needs a 1000$ coffee machine.

Le must

Brilliant and stylish coffee maker (if you like filter coffee, that is)
Really good set up for someone who wants a simple, minimalist, way of making good coffee. I am not so bothered with getting the perfect taste profile or any of that stuff. I just wanted something that worked without hassle. This is it. Only downside is the difficulty in getting the filters, but that's really a minor issue.
