Great pump for what you're paying for it. Yes it gets hot and the result from that is the air it blows is warm as well, keep that in mind depending on what you're using it for. Simply having a small fan blowing on it helps somewhat. And yes it's loud, not deafening, but it's louder than any standard small air pump most people are used to. But it's a commercial style pump, designed to be used in an environment where noise may not be an issue. Lastly, depending on how many lines you're using, make sure your airstones are big enough for the airflow. Overall I'd say it's a great bang for the buck air pump though.

Bought this pump just about a month ago, as a way to aerate a pond. I hooked it up to a 3/8 non-floating air line (via an adapter, as the outlet is a tight 1/4-inch). The run is about 25 feet, and ends in a T-fitting going into 2 large air stones. Good points so far: The pump moves a large quantity of air (the water looks like it's boiling) and shows no sign of slowing down. The mechanism is basically a solenoid moving at line frequency against a one-way valve. Unless the valve is poorly constructed, and if kept in a clean environment, it should last a very long time. The construction is solid, and the design simple. Many other reviewers have also commented positively about the pump's reliability and durability. The long air line that I'm using helps buffer the noise (the pump is VERY loud if run wide open!). It is noisy, but not excessively: Probably not appropriate for a home aquarium, but sitting on a piece of wood inside a plastic shoe box (to protect it from the elements), the noise is subdued and not at all intrusive. The pump also gets warm during continuous operation, but not to the point where it can't be handled. I'm guessing the greater the flow resistance, the greater the heat that's generated. The pump also has a built-in air filter that's easy to clean, and comes with a manifold with multiple valve controlled outlets. Haven't used it, so no comments. Down sides so far: my biggest complaint so far: the supplied nipple has an odd tapered pipe thread; it would be tough to replace. Other than that I find the pump to be an excellent value and a good investment. I would definitely recommend, and would not hesitate to buy another should the need arise.

Sí es silenciosa pero no tanto. Al final es una bomba más grande y por ello más escandalosa que una para acuario. Cumple su función y tiene buena potencia.
