V Sabatier Bread Knife

Great product

I wanted a long Sabatier style bread knife and this seemed to match. It is very heavy and feels like a quality knife that should last a lifetime. Sadly it was as good as useless and after a few months of suffering drastic tuck-in and impossibilty of cutting parallel bread slices I got rid of it and bought a Zwilling one like I should have done in the first place. It's magic! I really saddens me that Sheffield can no longer pruduce quality product.(It occurs to me that I may have been sent a defective knife, but I will never know as they didn't respond to my enquirey)

Having used a sabatier bread knife for years I needed to buy one for a new gift set. Slight different angle from my original 20 year old one but just as good. Can be used as a general purpose serrated knife and has been used as so in professional kitchens.

I ordered the bread knife because my knives and scissors are Sabatier. I used to be in the catering industry and when I began my career, over 50yrs ago, and was about to start college, we were told to buy Sabatier knives, because they were the best. Although I haven't yet used the bread knife, I am confident that I will find it as good as my other knives. Therefore I am recommending this knife to others.

It’s a really good knife. Albeit a bit heavier than the last one as well as being a bit longer. But I’m well satisfied.

Brilliant bread knife, it is very sharp and well balanced with a good solid handle. It actually makes an excellent general use carving knife too. I wish that I had discovered these knives years ago, you just can't beat knives that have a solid tang and through riveted handle.

The knife I wanted to replace was over 20 years old and had never been sharpened (as it was seriously serrated) .... I got this on the reviews I read but honestly I was so disappointed my old knife was equally as good and the knife I had used that spurred me to look to get a new one, was a friends, bought in IKEA!!!!! Worrying really.

I bought this to replace my existing serrated bread knife that had been a wedding present to my parents' some 70 years ago and which really had served its time. I hope this one lasts as well! Handles very well
