Renaissance Costume Women Medieval Fairy Corset Dress

This is a VERY good buy! The quality of the costume overall exceeded my expectations, and it looks just lovely in person. The corset sizing runs a bit small for those of us ladies with a lot going on up top, but the lacing is easy enough to figure out and the fit is very comfortable once it's on. The colors are true to the photo and the bodice is truly nice. It feels like good quality material and I am happy with it.

This is a beautiful costume. Very high quality and worth the cost. And really great at hiding some weight if you carry some. I am 5'0 and weigh 150, and not in the best shape. Dress is true to size - I ordered a 16 (in purple) and it fit perfectly. A bit long, so I had to hem about 4" to bring it to the top of my feet. My sister is in the Green one, is 5'2" and weighs 150. She is wearing a 14, and did not have to hem. We added some butterfly lace to the front of hers. The corset is REAL with real boning, which is great at making you look great! We got a lot of compliments. This dress was by far the best value in quality and price I found (I did a LOT of research). Plus, it was comfortable to wear for our long day at the Renaissance Faire in Oregon. Scarlet Darkness is definitely a brand to look to for quality costumes! Very happy!

I absolutely LOVE this dress! It was perfect and so comfortable. I did not have any trouble getting it on and the material wasn’t too thick for 80 degree weather but I did choose to wear a different underdress that I already had cause I liked the feel better than the one it came with. It washed well and I think it fit true to size, I was in between sizes 8 and 10, chose 10. The color was beautiful and it looked just as good after washing as it did when I first opened it. I did find it easier to loosen the ribbon all the way and drop it over my head than to try to zip it when getting it on. Then when taking it off I used the zipper. For me that was much easier especially getting dressed alone. I got so many compliments at the Scarborough Ren Faire and even found some matching ladies :) lol. Very well made and comfortable.

I was looking for a ren faire outfit and landed on this one because it reminded me of the costume I wore working at the bippity boppity boutique in magic kingdom back in the day. very cute! I ended up returning it and buying a larger size because my boobs didn't fit well. I thought the 6 would be fine but ended up in a 10. (5'0, 120lbs, but 30G bra size). The length on the 6 would have been better, but it's not a dealbreaker on the 10. The structure of the bodice, and the lightness of the skirt and undergarment are very nice. I think overall the quality is great at the price point. (I purchased here for $44.95) The undergarment is very thin, so you can see through it. If you wear dark undies, you would be able to see them because you can see the under dress through the middle in the front. I don't think it's much of a problem, though. It's very feminine and adorable, so I think just throw on some nude undies and it won't be a problem unless you are concerned with modesty. The negative of this dress, and reason for 4 stars vs 5 is the zipper. It is functionally useless because it will not zip up easily enough when on where the top meets the skirt. It has a hard time zipping. This was true even when the dress was off, I was scared I would break it. I tried this on both size dresses I received, so I think it is just how the zipper is. Instead of using the zipper, I have to unlace and re-lace every time I want to wear it. That is harder than it sounds, because it is hard to make the ribbon look polished while lacing it up (keeping it straight, tying it in an aesthetic way). I wore a bra with the dress, but the dress is very supportive and flattering on my body type.

5'2" 128 lbs, I got the 6 and it was perfect in size and length. The under dress was a little static-y but I rubbed it with a dryer sheet. I dewrinkled the overdress by tossing it in the dryer on steam dewrinkle. The material dries really quickly if it's a hot day and it looked as nice at the end as at the beginning. The zipper at the side was a little stiff, I may have liked something a little sturdier, but it was fine. The material is thin and light and washed well. The ribbons allow adjustment for bustiness or not. The quality was sufficient to survive hiking in the dust, sitting on the grass and in the stands, and surviving machine washing and drying. It was absolutely worth it!

Beautiful quality with an adjustable corset that allows a perfect fit. The material is thin in the skirt area but not see-trough, and that made it breathable. Very flattering and received many compliments. It does require steaming, but once prepared, it looks amazing and holds up well. Would repurchase in other colors.

The corset part itself is beautiful! Unfortunately, mine did not come with the puffy sleeve under slip I am a size 14 and I ordered a 14. It’s a little snug, but I’ll make do. I contacted Amazon and they said I would receive the under part in a few days. Fingers crossed. I am impressed with the quality. I just wish my order was complete.

Very nice costume. The quality is very good. I bought a size 8 and it fits great. It is full length on me. I do have the corset part as tight as it goes so you only see the white garment at the very to and sleeves. I may have been able to get a size 6 and have the corset looser so it looks more like the pictures, but it looks good the way it is. I would buy it again if I ever needed another one.
