This stabilizer works great on an E450 and is an excellent value
After looking at some very expensive steering stabilizers, to replace the non-functioning stock one on my E450-based motorhome, I ordered this Monroe stabilizer. I also ordered the rubber boot that goes with it, which you can find on Amazon as well. I installed it (very simple to install) and torqued the bolts to the specs they provided, and a few days later took a trip out to Joshua Tree National Park. The difference was night and day! I could drive with just one hand on the wheel, and when I went over bumps or joints in the pavement my wheels didn't jerk like they did before. It's a direct replacement for an E450 and E350, and I'm sure it fits many other vehicles as well. But I highly recommend getting the rubber boot when you purchase it. In fact that's why my other one failed, because of corrosion that formed on the rod from being constantly exposed to salt air. It created pitting which caused the seals to fail. So I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again, and I highly recommend it. It's a fantastic value, especially compared to all the high-priced self centering stabilizers, which frankly I don't think are necessary, and may even put too much stress on power steering pumps (just my opinion).

Direct OEM replacement
Identical to the one that failed on my 2005 F-350 super duty service truck. My truck developed a violent shimmy almost instantly, and of course I suspected something major, but decided to try replacing this part first, as I figured it was probably due, and was cheap enough that nothing would be lost if it did not cure the problem. It worked, and my ride returned to normal, amazing that part has such an effect! Reasonable price and OEM quality.

Good stabilizer
Works well I've had on for a couple years now. Needs a boot for the exposed shaft or it can rust or get grit on it

Complete garbage that failed only months later
I purchased this for my Ford E350 RV when I installed a complete new front suspension. It had give like you would expect and appeared to work properly. A few months after installing this, we took the RV out and it was all over the road. The steering was overly sensitive and I white knuckled it hundreds of miles, driving way under the speed limit, wondering what the heck happened. Well, after installing a new Hellwig front sway bar and a $200 alignment, I still had steering problems and the RV was terrifying to drive. Of course, the last thing I thought would be a problem was my recently purchased and still pretty new generic steering dampener I bought on amazon. I was even considering selling my RV as I could not figure out what was wrong, and driving the RV was too scary to think about. Well, out of desperation, I bought a new Bilstein steering dampner, hoping it would help. When I removed this amazon generic steering dampener, it was junk. There was no resistance to it at all. It just flopped up and down, a child could press it in, and it would NOT go back, it would stay pressed in. I removed 20+ year old shocks from my truck that had over a 100k miles, and they were in better condition. The fact is, this is NOT a quality shock. It will appear to do the job when new, but after a few months, and less than 1500 miles, it failed completely. And for what...I saved less than a hundred bucks for the Bilstein shock, in order to scare the hell out of myself on my last vacation. Driving an RV is challenging enough, with cross winds and 18 wheelers zooming by, without having to worry about a cheap steering dampener. Do yourself a favor and pass on this, and go buy one that is quality. Trust me, the savings is NOT worth it. I wish someone warned me when I went to buy this cheap garbage.
