Cuts home made bread like hot butter
Purchased a bread maker and none of our knives would cut the bread without ripping it. This knife cuts it like hot butter, it is an absolute must if cutting your own bread. Very good quality and very very sharp. Top marks and well worth the price.

Impressive!
I have purchased many bread knives over the years, always trying hard not to spend a fortune on any particular knife, sadly this has proved to be a false economy though, if I'd known what I know now, I would have just saved up and bought a far better knife the first time, hindsight can be a wonderful thing! What I can say about this purchase is that, thus far, I am very impressed! Yes, it's certainly not the cheapest, but saying that, it's also far from being too expensive. I have used it to cut very fresh, artisan bread and it has coped very well. Applying very little pressure and sawing away, sliced the bread evenly and as thinly as I wanted, without destroying the loaf! I like the extra length to the blade than all previous bread knives I've used. It feels well balanced too and obviously, nice and sharp. Even though this is strictly a bread knife, I actually tried it to carve a roasted joint of beef and it sliced that nice and thinly, an excellent result! Some other reviews have mentioned not liking the texture of the handle, but I don't have any issues with that at all. I pop mine in the dishwasher and it appears to be holding up well. I would say, considering the price paid for this bread knife, it is well worth buying, I am very impressed! Hopefully it will last, only time will tell, but certainly the best value bread knife I have ever bought and I've had quite a few!

Very glad I chose this one.
I have had this bread knife for a couple of months now, and it's one of the most pleasing purchases I've made in recent years. I read a lot of customer reviews of various knives before buying this and the general concensus that it's a good one were correct. I bake my own bread and wanted a good knife to make the most of my limited baking skills. This one surprised me firstly by how large and heavy it is, secondly by how easliy it cuts, even when making thin slices. It's got a good thickness to the blade, so it does not bend or flex and I cannot over stress just how sharp it is. The weight of the knife is more than I anticipated and another good feature of it, making it cut effortlessly. The handle at first glance looks large, but I have found it to be an exceptionally good grip, which is enhanced by the excellent texture of it. I doubt I shall ever need to replace this knife, but if I do, it will be with another one of these. I cannot speak to wither or not it is dishwasher proof as I don't have a dishwasher, but given the materials of it and the quality of construction, I cannot see any reason it would not be. If you are looking for a bread knife, to use each day, as I do, I believe you will be as happy with this one each time you use it, as I am when I take mine out of the kitchen drawer each morning and use it on my loveley homemade loaf.

Excellent sharp long bladed bread knife.
What a delightful bread knife. A good long blade (25cm), with the left side flat and the right side ground sway to give the cutting edge. It slices easily even through freshly baked soft bread with no pressure needed - the sharp teeth points bite into the bread, and the sharp scallops slice. A delight to use. I've only had it for a day, so I can't say how long it will stay stay sharp. But currently, I'm delighted. [Edit: September 2018. 18 months in, and in daily use, and it's still sharp enough to cut bread easily. It's not quite as sharp as when I bought it, so a little more care needs to be taken with very fresh bread. But I don't think I'll be replacing it just yet.] [Edit: March 2019. Two years in. It's still sharp enough for most bread, but not quite good enough for bread that's only been out of the bread maker for 30 minutes. Given the ridiculously low price, I'm getting another one.] [Edit: April 2022. After three years, the replacement is now also blunter than I'd like, although again, perfectly fine on most bread, just not on very fresh soft bread. So I've just ordered a third one - now on its way. It gets used multiple times every day. An excellent product. Well worth the 1.5p/day it averages out to! ] [Edit: July 2024: Still sharp, but no longer good enough for very fresh bread. Fourth one just ordered. Price unchanged at ยฃ13.66 from when I first bought one seven years ago! ]

Best Bread Knife we have ever owned
I spent a lot of time researching bread knives - Victorinox bread knife was what I was originally heading for ordering having used this on several occasions with large crusty artisan bread at Stoke Park Hotel (apologies for diverting, but hey just checked hotel website and it looks like this historic Grade I hotel (James Bond Moonraker golf scenes filmed here) will reopen as a hotel, rather than going to a private individual. Yippee, so worth visiting even if not staying). Getting back to this wonderful knife: I had found the Victorinox to be the best Bread Knive (having an extra long blade) to tackle large knobbly crust artisan bread, but luckily I stumbled on this knife and due to its low price thought it was worth a punt; ie if no good I would purchase Victorinox as originally intended. Well this knife is even better, I took it to my mother's for a stay so she could try it. Ended up leaving it with her as she was equally impressed and getting another for myself. The only issue was storing it - cut pack carefully and stored for sometime before packing started to fall apart and thinking I must make effort to find some sort of protection for blade a too dangerous to have in drawer unprotected. AND hey presto there was now a cover for this knife. I must have had this knife and cover for 2 years - sorry I cannot confirm name of cover as unsure how to navigate from this review screen on my new mobile - but it is black one that I believe is made by same manufacturer; I can't understand how some people had given the cover negative reviews, definitely no issue with splitting. Indeed after trying cover out also ordered one for my mother. Definitely best Bread knife I have ever (and I am very much a 'thorough purchase scout') used, followed by Victorinox, but make sure you purchase cover/or have secure method of storing as too sharp to leave loose in a drawer. And if you have a love of unique heritage hotels that really deliver (the tasting menu experience is still etched in my memory - usually not a fan of tasting menus) keep an eye out for Stoke Park Hotel (near Slough, Berkshire) reopening. And if you stay and use the Victorinox bread knife at breakfast (they did have a spectacular table full of various Artisan loafs) this knife is even better!

Great knife, terrible packaging
Excellent, very sharp and goes through bread (and thumbs *see below) like butter. I also love the length of the blade as it's longer than my old knife so cuts through even my most spread-out sourdough ๐! However... I found the packaging incredibly difficult to open, even following the instructions to use scissors. That didn't stop me cutting myself as I was opening it though, because the plastic part of the packaging needed to be cut close to the blade. Partly my fault, but also this type of packaging is to blame. Otherwise, I would have scored it 5 stars.

Great value
Great bread knife for the price. Ive been using for more than 6 months and its holding up well. The blade is sharp and slices through crusty loaves without crushing them, and it also works well on softer bread. The handle feels comfortable and secure in hand, even during longer use. Itโs simple, sturdy, and does exactly what you need a bread knife to do. Definitely a good value buy.

The best bread knife!
I make sourdough and got tired of struggling to cut it, saw a recommendation for this knife and decided to try it. It slices through the bread so easily, and even better than my electric knife! It's very sturdy and sharp! Absolutely worth every penny!

Exceptional value for the money. Works great with thick crusty bread.
Exceptional value. Works much better than bread knives costing many times more than this. The grip is very secure and the edge does not skitter over top of very crusty bread. Cuts through cleanly and efficiently. Knife is not too thick and heavy or too thin. It really is the perfect bread knife and the best one I have ever tried. Very satisfied with it, to say the least. Highly recommended.
