Fantastic Skillet
This skillet is an excellent value. The build, appearance, and cooking performance are excellent not just for the price, but even compared to my more expensive pans. T-fal also did a great job with packaging/shipping material. By comparison, I recently purchased a more expensive Cook's Standard pan (made in C...) and the packaging was horrendous and build quality inferior. I will be buying more from T-fal, solid brand - buy with confidence!

Well designed sauté pan
I have a lot of various pans I use in cooking (you can never have enough!). This T-fal Pro Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Saute Pan is part of a new line of cookware from T-fal, so I was pretty excited to see how well it is made, as previous T-fal pans I've used have been pretty good. This pan has some weight to it and does not feel like a cheap thin-metal pan. It balances nicely and heating is pretty even across the pan surface. I like that the handle is riveted to the pan, no screws to loosen up or trap anything. Having a steam vent hole in the glass lid is always nice have. As it is designed to accommodate virtually all range types (gas, electric, inductive), it is quite versatile. As another review had mentioned, cooking with stainless (not non-stick) surface pans is different and you need to pay a little more attention. Simply put, you need to preheat the pan and you will need to use an oil when doing any frying as this is not a non-stick. The tip of dropping a drop of water to see if it dances on the surface is wise to use so you know the pan is ready to use. There are times that I like to use non-stick pans (cooking eggs especially), but there are also many times that I like to use stainless surface for searing meat, sautéing various items and even for sauces. Also, I don't have to worry about scratching the surface so can use all-metal whisks and cooking utensils. If you enjoy cooking, this is a nice addition to have.

Got suckered…
I used this 5 days ago after just putting it in the cabinet. I used a stainless steel utensil. THIS is what happened. Indentions from heat! Would love a refund. ..

This is a good Stainless Steel saute pan that is very well constructed from a heavy gauge metal.
I ordered this for using to fry up some things that just did not have enough volume to justify my 14" Stainless pan, and if I'm going to fry, I like Stainless Steel, I'm used to it, and I can use metal tools, which I prefer. This cold very well, with an even heat distribution, and no noticeable hot or cold spots. This is a heavy pan, because the steel is not thin like some are, it's thick enough to hold the heat. I have been using Stainless for a while now, and I find it doesn't have a big problem with food sticking to it if you preheat the pan, and always use a good oil. I have one of the oil bottles with a trigger to spray the oil onto the pan with, and that makes it very easy to make sure you have the inside of the pan well covered, including the sides without having to roll the pan around to distribute the oil. T-fal is a quality company, and anything they make can be considered a top quality product with a long lifespan. This pan works very well, and I am very happy with it, I think it is a top quality pan for a reasonable price.

Great sauté pan
I have been a huge fan of T-fal pans for more than a decade and have up until this point used their non stick pots and pans of pretty much all sizes. They have always been my go to pans. As we move away from non stick I was worried about the kinds of pans and having to deal with how to clean them, and being really difficult to clean. The first thing I noticed is that that doesnt feel like the case with these but I do need to cook a bit differently and that total non stick has made me a bit complacent and lazy in my cooking. The two main things I do differently is I now make sure I have some kind of oil or fat and I start adding food to cook when the pan is much warmer. After a couple adjustments, cleaning for the most part is not much different then the old non stick pans though you have to clean it right away. As for the pan itself it is atleast as good as the non stick t-fal it replaced though it is worth noting esp at higher temps the heat transfer seems better, which is a nice boost ontop of it being non-carcinogenic. This is now my daily pan and I really am enjoying cooking with it and there really isnt a difference in the taste!

A disappointment
T-fal packaged this product very well so I was surprised to find pitting & a small gouge in the center. It was hard to capture in a photo but it is bad enough that you can see and feel the burrs. It's a shame because this pan is the perfect size to fill in between my large & small saute pans. It has a very nice stay cool handle. The pan heated up ok in my test but not quite as evenly as my more expensive tri-ply pans. Without the defects the overall appearance of the pan is comparable to high priced pans. In satisfactory condition I would rate this product 4 stars because it looks & performs well for the price. To be fair I am docking them only 1 star for the defect though it doesn't adequately reflect my disappointment. T-fal is a good budget brand but if they want to move up to the bigs they need better quality control. I can't return this item so I will attempt to buff out the burrs before preparing food with it.

Nice pan
This pan is a very good quality pan. It looks great and cooks well and heats evenly across the whole pan. It's pretty easy to clean. I haven't had any issues with scratching on it yet, i don't really use metal utensils while cooking all that often. It's a great size to cook most meals. worth the investment
