Warm yellow glow – perfect halogen bulbs
After submitting a question on what others thought about the colour of the light emitted for these halogen G9 28w bulbs, I was confronted with conflicting answers, and some very unhelpful responses – why are some people so irritatingly stupid? So I made the decision to purchase these bulbs to see what they were like for myself.I can personally confirm that the light emitted is a warm yellow glow – which suits me perfectly.Delivery was quick and the packaging small enough for just a small padded envelope to be popped through my letterbox. They arrived safely and I fitted then bulbs to my new dimmable lamps. So far, the couple of bulbs I’ve installed are working perfectly well and the colour of the light is lovely. After reading many reviews on the longevity of halogen bulbs, I can only assume they have been handled incorrectly. I would therefore advise that you don’t touch the bulbs because this can cause traces of grease or oils to be left on the bulbs; causing it to heat up and potentially causing the bulbs to blow. If you can, use a lint-free cloth to hold them gently and fit them to your light fitting, it’s as easy as that.Overall, happy with my purchase and would highly recommend for the quality of bulbs, value for money and the swift delivery.

Cheap, and pretty good so far....
Bought a set of 10 since i have these lights around the house in light units. Lamps are in individual boxes, which were small and neat. Replaced 3 in a lounge light unit, unfortunately 1 has already popped, though 2 others replaced at the same time doing fine. Less than ninety pence each, so very good value -far better than buying from the shops, and delivered straight to door!Whether they are 28W or 40W, I am not going to argue, or calculate the saving on that 12W for the year value, I just want a product that will last, than break.. OK so far, even with the 1 bulb going - still better than buying from the local DIY store.

Best value for money.
I use six of these bulbs at a time in a single unit in my lounge and have found these Leon Lighting ones to provide the best value for money.Having reordered these bulbs several times now, I estimate that each bulb lasts me about six months of daily use, which, if my maths is correct equates to about 200 hours in actual daily use (where lights are regularly turned on and off etc) which is pretty good for this type of bulb (disregard the 2000 hours claim that all manufacturers make as this can only ever be achieved under test conditions where the bulbs are only turned on once in ideal conditions and left till they expire!)I have used other makers bulbs in the same lighting unit and none of them have lasted as well as these Leon ones.It is imperative with ANY halogen bulb that you never touch them with bare hands - I have a foam plastic ring which I use to handle them when changing, but getting them out of their individual boxes and plastic sheath can be a bit of a fiddle and I suspect this is when many people accidentally touch the glass which will result in (vastly) reduced lifespan.I use them in conjunction with a dimmer switch, reducing the brightness before switching off and switching on at lower power before increasing to the required brightness level; for me this is usually between 90 and 100 percent. At a cost of under 80 pence each these represent excellent value for money when compared to 'high street' prices.

Good value
All work fine so far (though I've only needed 3). Great for the price, delivered fairly quickly, packaged ok. 1 star off because fiddly to get individual bulbs out of their boxes but that's being really picky.

Great bulbs with green street-cred
I cannot vouch for these being really 28w consumption for a 40w light output, however they do seem bright enough and reasonably priced for their alleged green credentials. All 6 that I have fitted so far have not shown any signs of dimming/fading and none have blown; though it has only been a couple of months... That being said, I will almost definitely get them again.

They don't last!
In common with several other reviews, I have found that these just do not last. I bought them to gradually replace the regular bulbs that came with a new light fitting I bought and installed, but I've now got through a whole box of 10 in less than 2 years. That's in a single fitting with three lights in it, one of which is still the original bulb. Don't waste your money, they are a false economy.
