My family and I don’t know how we ever lived without this countertop ice maker. We absolutely love it. We have ice all the time, it’s not loud, and it does exactly what it says. No more ice cube trays on the counter needing to be filled, no more fighting with ice cube trays. We have ice on demand, all the time. The only thing I’d say is that for some reason I thought it would be like an ice bucket on the counter with ice 24/7. It’s not quite like that. The basket is small and takes a bit to fill up, so to get any kind of real quantity it needs to be dumped into a container in the freezer so it can fill up again. It’s not a bad step, it’s no big deal, and we have a very large container in our fridge full of ice all the time because of it. Also, the ice in the basket isn’t kept frozen, so to speak. I don’t know how to explain that because it sort of keeps itself frozen, only it will slowly melt back into the water reservoir over time, then reproduce whatever ice the sensor says there’s room for. This is a horribly inefficient way to leave it as it continually uses electricity if you do that. You absolutely CAN do that, I’ve left it overnight and when I woke up, the basket was still full but it had been cycling all night to keep it that way. It’s best to keep dumping it into its own container in the freezer and let it make more or shut it off. Also, you might want to invest in an ice pick if you don’t have one. The ice comes out a bit “wet”. So when you dump the basket into a container in the freezer, it’s going to freeze together into a lumpy lump. 😄. It’s easy enough to break it up. I use two containers in the freezer, one for ice and one for the new basket of ice. After a little while, i just break it up and pour it into the big container. I’m probably making this sound like work, and it really isn’t at all. It’s a lot less work than ice cube trays. We really really love this product and will never be without a countertop ice maker again. You won’t regret it.

My hubs LOVES Sonic ice! He craves it! There are a few other restaurants and places that have it and when he finds a place, he always gets an extra cup to munch on it. I've been looking for years to find a counter top ice maker that produces it and for years I could only find the original standalone machine that costs thousands. When people started producing counter top versions, the reviews weren't great. Recently, after several years, I decided to revisited this quest. I found hope in the newer machines that looked like they were getting closer. After pouring over reviews and descriptions, I decided on finally buying him this one for Christmas this year. I'm happy to report: The cubes are the perfect size for crunching! He says it could be just a tad more "watery" (whatever that means -- it's ice -- isn't it naturally watery?? -- But I'm not as fanatical about rabbit poop ice as he is), but he says "it is pretty darn close" and he loves it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The machine produced ice almost instantly. I was impressed by how fast it worked. It's footprint on the counter is about the size of a normal-sized coffee maker. Our knife block with the knives stands taller than this machine. So it doesn't take up much space as I thought it would. The water capacity is pretty decent: it makes about 2 tumblers full of ice -- or 1 32oz convenient store plastic cups -- we'll have to experiment with making extra to store in the freezer but so far hes eating them as fast as its making them 😆 The quality of the machine is mostly plastic but seems sturdy and good. The loudness is not more than the exhaust fan on the stove, but as mentioned it doesn't take long for ice to be produced, so the machine doesn't run long. Over all, this was a great buy!! 👍

Original review: I just got home and opened this and am SO disappointed at the color. I paid EXTRA and waited LONGER for shipment only to find that it's NOT silver stainless steel. It's enough of a tint of aqua / blue that I thought it had a blue film on it but it's not - it's the color of the appliance. UPDATE: It IS a blue film - but it's so integrated that you would never know it. The company has now updated their product description on Amazon to explain that it is a protective film that must be peeled off. I have not taken it off yet as I'm still testing the product. So far it's a nice device but a little loud for me - not the sound of ice dropping but the whirring of the fan. With all the fans and air conditioners running in this heat it blends in - but once the season changes it will be running louder than my fridge. I will note a few things that others have posted: 1) the first batch of ice is 'weak' as the compressor has to come to temperature. 2) you DO need to remove the ice rather quickly and get it to your freezer and it IS quite wet which makes it clump together once in the colder temps of the freezer. To fix this I'm storing ice in a large Ziploc bag which I can bang on the counter easily to break it up as I add batches. 3) it was nice to leave it for a nap and wake up to a bunch of ice but if you left it too long it would just melt and regenerate. 4) I don't know if I could stand it running 24 hours a day but one person mentioned that helps the machine last longer. I would love to know what customer support says on that there's nothing in the booklet about it. 5) you do need to keep it pulled away from side and back walls - there are fans on both sides and an air Intake on the back. Keep this in mind. 6) the plug in the bottom (for draining during cleaning) is a little flimsy and feels like cheap plastic that could easily break. It's awkward blindly twisting it back in as you can't see what you're doing - and hoping you secured it before pouring more water in. 3 stars with it's limitations, watery ice and whirring sound that I wish were quieter. Wish they insulated the top just a little more to keep the ice from melting longer. But overall nice little machine. Will update rating and post if anything noteworthy changes... 8/7/24 Great size. Smaller footprint, lighter weight and quieter fan than the 'upgraded one'. Adorable little machine. Hope it lasts.

Ruckzuck sind die ersten Eiswürfel nach dem Einschalten fertig. Und weil sie so leise ist, stört sie überhaupt nicht. Wenn der Wassertank leer ist, oder der Eiswürfelkorb voll, stoppt sie automatisch - einfach perfekt! Sie hat bei uns bereits jetzt einen festen Platz in der Küche und ist seit den ersten warmen Tagen im Dauer Einsatz!

Such a nice gadget to have specially if you are too busy or too lazy to make yourself. The sizes of the ice are very manageable. Makes the ice rather quickly so you always have stock for yourself, although it’s not something I would use for a group of people since there wouldn’t be enough ice. I would probably recommend making the ice and then when it’s finished, put it in the freezer so that you have a collection of ice in the future. It’s definitely on the cheaper side for ice-makers so it’s quite good and it functions very well
