The Official Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Johto Guide and Johto Pokedex

Good price lots of useful information and tips in about the game. Had the user guide for the original versions of these 15 years ago which was a lot smaller

May as well be written in a foreign language for me, but then I'm a parent, (enough said)but my boys think that it's wonderful and are now fighting each other as to who gets to look up the next part of their quest, (better than 'just' fighting, I suppose!). Seriously, it looks to have answered their questions in a simple manner, where the gameplay wasn't intuitive, where for example having spoken to a character in one place they had to return to another place and meet the same character again to collect a bonus item; without the book they were unaware of the need to do that task. All in all a very good buy, especially in view of the price which is a third of what the game cost in the first place, after all 'they' may as well get the most out of the game that 'you' paid for!!

One of the better guides with a fill Pokedex. Worth every penny.

I was surprised that this guide only contains the Johto walkthrough and therefore half of the game. To hear that the Kanto volume might be released at a similar price is frankly disgraceful and a rip-off and in retrospect if I didn't love making sure I'd covered every inch of the game by following the book I wouldn't have bought it. But for those looking at this review, you probably already know about this. I think that the HeartGold and SoulSilver Johto only guide is very helpful and nice looking too. The publishers have kept the design of the contents fairly close to the platinum guide and I think that's really consistent. The book tells you exactly what to do and also includes additional guides on how to grow berries and play the voltorb flip game which is a nice addition. It has a pull out poster of the Johto map and a useful move-type battle chart to make sure you have the perfect combination of Pokemon in your party. As you may expect if you have bought a strategy guide before, there is the odd spelling mistake but this is so rare in the book that I wouldn't consider it an issue and we're only human after all. Unlike the platinum guide it shows you where every trainer is on each route and also clearly shows you where items are too. I will say that I find the Pokedex in the book to be absolutely awful. For me it has next to no information about what TM's you can give to each Pokemon, only what moves they will learn when levelling up and it's not like they didn't have the space to do this; there's tons of "white space" around the sprite image of each Pokemon. It's not looking good.

The book was just as described on the website, I loved that I could check the process of my order as I have aspergers I like to know what is going no to the smallest detail. The delivery was quick as great.

My son loves pokemon and really enjoys looking through this book, learning the stats for each pokemon and learning about the game. This is highly recommended for any pokemon fan!

Highly recommended guide for the game, tells you all you need to know, i always purchase the guide when a new game comes out

Like to have as much info as possible before I get into my pokemon game. This book helped me no end .

Didn't expect it to be in such good condition, almost pristine! Arrived one week earlier than expected despite internacional shopping. Love It!

Es importante notar que la guía esta completamente en ingles; Contiene la guía del juego completo de inicio a fin así como horarios de los varios eventos que toman lugar en el juego. también tiene información sobre los Pokemon que se pueden capturar en cada ruta y el Pokedex completo de Johto. Pero es importante saber que este es solo el volumen 1 y no contiene información sobre la región de Kanto ni el Pokedex nacional. Esta guia es una muy buena compra si eres fan de Pokemon, se ve muy bien en la colección, las imágenes que se utilizan están hermosas y ademas contiene un mini-póster de la región de Johto.

The year is 2000, i had just finished second grade in June. The month is July, and we have just been told there was going to be a new pokemon game. I didn't really care at the time, but when i got Pokemon Silver in 2000 i couldn't have been happier. I got myself the primia guide book originally back then and saw i could travel to Kanto, where the original pokemon took place AND could battle my charter from Red Blue and Yellow. 10 years later I am a senior in high school when i hear they are going to remake gold and silver!!! i was so happy they were my favorite pokemon games as a kid, i liked how it changed from day to night in the games. It took me three years to finally get heartgold. and as like before i had to get a guide to go with it. I was unhappy with how they were both split up but in the end was happy. I couldn't believe how much changed! It then inspired me to fix my original copy of silver....great guide book to explain on the changes with Gold and Silver and how they were similar too!

Item arrived promptly, and was in fair condition considering the fact that it is probably 10 years old. The foldout map of Johto was not included, however I'm not surprised due to the age of the guide; furthermore I beat the original Silver many many times as well as Soul Silver, so I am quite familiar with Johto. That being said, there is still a ton of useful information contained within and I am very happy to add it to my collection. Also bought the Kanto guide, but still waiting for it to be shipped. These guides are worth buying if you have one or both games, since their value will only go up with time. Adding the guides further increases value.
