Good Size, Very Handy
The Vic Solo (No. 1) is a great size for a single blade pocket knife. The 93 mm alox knives have a thicker blade than the Celador models making them very sturdy knives, and the blade is a good length for lots of cutting tasks. Despite being thin the Solo is not too thin, still retaining enough thickness to be comfortable to grip and safe to hold. Still, it is thin and light enough to be unnoticeable in your pocket. I think the backspring on the 93 mm models is also a bit heavier than the Celador models, but it's not hard to open, and it snaps open and shut with that satisfying Victorinox click. I can even pinch it open if I really try. I have a Fieldmaster for all those random cutting, sawing, prying, opening, and scissoring tasks and plan to keep my Solo relatively "clean" for use mainly on food. So far in its first day it has performed well for slicing strawberries, peaches, and sourdough bread, and I can tell the blade is long enough to handle cantaloupe and pineapple, too.

Wallet carry
This is a very well done, very thin, very well built pocket knife. Absolutely perfect for carrying in a wallet easily for any small daily task that may come up. No unnecessary extra goofy tools here. Just a simple single well done blade that will do just about anything you need to do without being a Rambo. Classy and useful little piece. Jeans or slacks. Wallet or purse. Itโs all good .

Almost perfect but...
Almost perfect but, I'll still give it 5 stars. It still gets 5 stars because of the build quality. It is phenomenal. The quality is what you can expect from Victorinox. I am a huge edc guy and purchased this to rotate with my Case 6220 as a backup to whatever knife I'm carrying. This piece is simple, practical, and just a beautiful piece in my opinion. There is no blade play whatsoever and it is smooth when deploying. The main reason I say it's almost perfect is because of the factory edge. It was not up to my expectations but, it only took a little bit of effort on my part to sharpen it. I like my blades sharp! I "test" for sharpness by its ability to cut through paper or shave hair right off my arm. It's an excellent tool and it will definitely be seeing a lot of pocket time.

I love this knife! Perfect size for everyday carry. Blade is super sharp. Very handy ! I just wish I could keep from losing them! I should buy them in bulk! I think this is my fourth one! I have several Victorinox knives and love them all!!!

No better knife at any price .
I have collected very expensive pocket knives over the years . I realize now that I wasted my money on those. I found out that so called CPM steel in my other knives is a gimick name for sintered steel which can be rapidly stamped out / mass produced thereby avoiding a lot of the costly grinding. The bottom line here is that this knife stays sharp as long or longer than my expensive CPM steel knives. The blade is longer and thicker than the standard multi-tool Swiss Army knives . Light as a feather . The aluminium alloy handles are stronger than they ever need to be for a knife . I own other heavy and over built pocket knives. I realize now that if you try to make a knife that is also a crowbar you end up with a lousy knife and a lousy crowbar . This is a superb slipjoint daily carry. You wonโt find anything better.

Classic workhorse that goes most places.
I grew up in an era that predated most of the highly streamlined and technically thought out folders of today. I had a nick knife in my hand since I was six years old and learned from my grandfathers, and getting cut, how to pop these open while drawing them out of a pocket or while sinking it in an apple or piece of wood. These type knives have a lot of advantages, especially for a traveler, as they are generally regarded in a more favorable light than other edged tools. This is nearly the perfect size for light to medium work, and if you know how to use a jackknife it will perform well above its minute weight. If you are older operating these knives may be second nature. If not, find the oldest scruffy looking character you can at a local farm coop or hardware store and theyโll be more than happy to help you learn. Opening and use of these with skill and consistency takes practice. The texture of the grip really makes the purchase in the hand better than the traditional red plastic. This knife is a must have for a checked bag or long cross continental road trips.

High Quality, Super Light Weight, Bargain
There are plenty of good reviews here. Iโll focus mine on the single stack SAK 1 model here, vs the 2-3 stack models. Iโve owned the 2&3 stack. This is my first single. Big fan of Alox SAK line. I like this knife a lot. Iโll start by saying I like the 2 layer electrician best, but I lost it. Ive been carrying a 3 layer Pioneer X which is a fantastic multi tool. This is the larger knife in the pictures. It feels like a brick in your pocket compared to the single layer. The beauty of this knife is that it disappears in you pocket. Itโs worth buying just for that. It also will not freak out someone who does not carry a knife because itโs hardly tactical and kinda โprettyโ. You canโt feel it at all. Itโs really (almost too) thin. To me the 2 layer feels best in hand for use. This single layer is for light duty cutting. It does not have a grip to press hard. I used to put out (a lot) of pine straw and it did an excellent job. Easy to see silver color when you leave it open in the next bale. Maybe I wonโt loose it. Easy to clean with one blade (simple is good) My only gripe. Itโs a SAK. It has one tool, duh itโs supposed to. There is a spot for a second tool on the opposite side of the blade . This defeats the โsoloโ idea, but why not make a model with an opener or a punch, or scissors on the opposite side??? Iโd buy that one. The punch is perfect for opening boxes. This model has a unique curved spring. The blade also seems unique in that itโs straight, not beveled. Adding a second tool means you use existing SAK parts. Put liners on it fatten it up a bit. It would feel better and weigh nothing. Build one with a short blade and scissors and call it the TSA. It would sell to travelers. This is a nice looking knife with the curved spring. Itโs an awesome value and a practical, easy to carry tool. Get one and support our Swiss friends. Pioneer X is going in a bag.

Il rapporto qualitร /prezzo รจ, a mio parere, conveniente.

Razor sharp 6.3cm blade This knife really feels indestructible, the most durable knife i ever had. Thanks to Amazon many swiss army knifes are very affordable this is one of my 8 Victorinoxes Its simple, but a great build, made of two part alox (aluminium) handles, spring, 3 rivets and the famous blade. The spring is so tough it will not allow to close the blade on your fingers and it needs a lot more force to close the blade than on any other standard pen knifes, so that makes it a great alternative to a lock knife. The grip is not as good as on the big 108mm Solo knife, but still a lot better than the polished standard plastic handles. What i am not happy about is the fact that for this knife there is no belt pouch specifically designed and no key ring or lanyard hole on it, so it can get easy lost. Anyway for this funny price a Victorinox? (12quid at the time i got it) it was so hard to believe that i just had to buy it. Higly recommended. Update - now i use this knife as a backup and keep it in my survival emergency kit knife is an essential tool and a pen knife is better than nothing and it fits in most survival, emergency and 1st aid kits. If you want more than a single blade, go for the Victorinox Farmer, same quality, same durability, but more useful tools for just couple more quid.
