Technic McLaren P1 Hypercar Building Set, Gift for Adult Racing Fans, Race Car Collectible Model with V8 Piston Engine and 7-Speed Gearbox, 42172

It’s Lego, but man, almost 3900 pieces, it was worth it. Assembly is easy as always, great quality too. For clarity, it has 22-23 bags, 3 Boxes, 2 books. Exactly 1000 steps. A few spare parts as well. It’s pretty large when completed, opening the rear to check out the engine bay is kind of a pain since it doesn’t just open, you have to pull out 2 pieces and then you just take it off, no hinged opening. The front boot has a prop to hold it open, and you even build a suitcase to put in there. Over all, the design is great, there is a bunch of back story where Lego worked with McLaren’s team(s) in creating the model. You build the engine, the hybrid motor, and somewhat of a transmission. But what’s really neat, is the shifter assembly. You can actually switch between the hybrid mode, where only the hybrid motor gears spin but the engine pistons do not. Then switch it back to where the pistons move etc. no decals to worry about as well. If you get it for kids, I would suggest an adult builds with them, some steps are not really clear as to exactly where to put certain parts. The rear wing can retract/extend out with a gear on the rear of the car under the bumper, in the middle of the diffuser

Nice LEGO, instructions were clear with visuals, took a while to complete but after I did it looks amazing and I had a great time building it with my friends. Good activity to do when bored and it can bring people together and the quality is really nice. I've always liked LEGO's and this might be one of my favorites, definitley worth the money and time to build, great product.

For my son's 21st Birthday (October), we went on a Supercar Tour where he got to drive multiple hi-end cars (Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Porche, etc.), his selected / favorite car being a McLaren 600 P1. We had an absolute blast, and he had a permanent smile tattooed to his face the entire time he was driving the McLaren P1 through the twisting mountain roads. To commemorate this event, I found the LEGO McLaren P1 Hypercar online at Amazon. My son is also into LEGOs and has multiple models from the Creator series. The level of detail on the LEGO McLaren P1 Hypercar is NEXT LEVEL. Having physically ridden in an actual McLaren P1, I was impressed by how close the LEGO set matched the original, especially in shape and contour. The LEGO model looks more like a diecast of the original, with working components than even the Creator series LEGO sets -- AWESOME!! Amazon typically ships this item in its original box, but to preserve the photos on the box (part of the memories of our trip) from being ripped or ruined by shipping labels, Amazon was able to ship it within a shipping box -- which came in quite handy for wrapping some of my son's other Christmas gifts. Amazon delivered the gift on time and in perfect condition. The look on my son's face Christmas morning when he opened the LEGO McLaren P1 Hypercar was priceless and matched those in my memory of the Tour several months earlier. His enthusiasm over the gift overflowed and kept bubbling up during his time home for Christmas. Memories permanently ingrained and commemorated by an amazing model that is showroom quality / detail.

Impeccably packaged and arrived right on time, it took me around a month to construct in my spare moments. I thoroughly enjoyed watching each piece come together and take shape. The quality and design are truly admirable. I'm already looking forward to adding the Ferrari to my collection of LEGO supercars soon.

The build was great and the finish was even better

Bought for son (35 yo) for Christmas. He was thrilled beyond expectations. He spent all free time over the next month assembling which was unbelievably complex. But he really enjoyed it. It is proudly displayed on side table in their dining room much to my daughter-in-law’s dismay.

Lego Item was perfect and the original, not a cheap copy that is out there. However Seller did not put it in any cardboard or protective packaging so Lego box has shipping stickers and scuff marks to box. If you a Lego collector beware of sellers shipping method

Awesome build

Tiene excelentes detalles, hasta el momento creo es el lego technic con mejores rines y llantas. Son poco menos de 4,000 piezas las cuáles te van a entretener y considero que como los otros el material adicional de historia sobre la marca y modelo es buen detalle. Si lo armas por semana un poco tardas un tiempo pero no hay prisa y te diviertes bastante, sobre todo mientras va tomando forma. Lo recomiendo ampliamente si te gustan los.grandes retos y tienes paciencia, vale.cada peso.

More expensive than I want to pay for 14yr old grandson (advanced Lego wiz) Christmas present, split the cost with parents. All that said it will be a project for Dad and son. Worth the cost!

A verdade é que esse modelo Technic 1:8 evoluiu muito dos modelos anteriores, pegando a versão da Ferrari Daytona SP3 para esta McLaren P1 temos uma baita diferença estética e funcional, existe uma bela disputa entre ambos, porém acredito eu que a Experiencia de construção na McLaren foi melhor que na Ferrari, e o próximo modelo em escala 1:8 terá uma ótima disputa com o atual McLaren, de modo geral, é muito gratificante a experiencia de construção do começo ao fim, recomendo muito!!!
