Nokia 6100 - Light Blue

I bought this years ago and forgot to review it. Better late than never!This is the last Nokia phone I bought. I gave it to my (now ex) G/F when I got my first Samsung phone (the SGH-X820). She's still using it!Back in the day, it was a lovely phone. Easy to use, good battery life (the CPU only had one job - to make/receive phone calls and send/receive text messages!) reliable & a (passive matrix) colour display. TFT & AMOLED displays had yet to have been invented & developed.It's a 2-band phone, 450MHz (Voda & O2) & 900MHz (Orange). Most mobile networks today use the 1.9GHz band, so the SIM won't work in this phone.

This is my third Nokia 6100. The first, from new, just died from old age and lack of care, the second, purchased via Amazon late last year, was reconditioned but looked and operated as new. Unfortunately I dropped it and smashed the section which connected to my car handsfree system and consequently I had to replace it with this one. Again reconditioned but functions well both in hand and connected to car handsfree. Arrived well in advance of estimated delivery, colour rather more royal/dark blue than light blue. Three very obvious scratch marks on casing including one which appears to be on the inside of the screen. Perfectly satisfactory functionally but cosmetically poor compared to my previous purchase and twice the price.

Good and arrived in time

i bought this phone back in sept 2003 for £189 Sim Free, and ive loved it ever since! my old phone - 8210 began acting up and i wasnt able to receive or make calls so boy was i glad when this one arrived!its so small and light :) and i love the color screen!great polyphonic tones and the ability to get ur own off ur comp wiv the PC suite :)only gripe is that if u want a camera its not built in so u have to buy one separately, but meh, i dont need a camera lolall in all a great fone which i'd recommend to anyone :)

I bought it on the phone, and was disappointed when I opened the parcel: The Nokia 6100 looks like many other Nokia phones, much less showy than my old Nokia 8850, and it is more plastic, makes creaking sounds when I use it. But: It is very small, light, and works just like a Nokia phone. E-mail, WAP, GPRS work so-so, but that is more a problem of the small screen and poor WAP compatibilty. Funny enough mobile phone freaks seem to think this is a highly desirable phone. I think if you just need a small, easy to use phone, this is a nice phone to keep in your pocket and not to worry about.
