Calasparra Paella Rice DOP 1 Kg Bag (2.2 Pound)

This rice rocks. Having made paella for years with risotto rice, this rice is so much better. The risotto goes from too firm to mush in minutes. There is no in between. The Calasparra is a rice that can stay al dente for a decent length of time. I cook most of my paella on the stove, but finish it in the oven to meld all the flavors together. The rice is still firm after 15 minutes in the oven. That won me over completely. Best paella ever.

Ordered this rice for the first time and was very pleased with it. It did tend to brown a little quicker than some brands I have used before, but the consistency was good and it held up well in the dish. A hit!

It's good rice but the bag only contains 5 cups of it. Most home cooks use a 15" paella pan and nearly every recipe for a 15" pan uses 3 cups of rice. So your $11 purchase gets you enough rice to make one paella. Add another cup guys.

This was the best rice I've ever used in paella. I am always worried about the rice when I cook paella, but it turned out perfect. two cups of water to 5 cups of liquid. This crusted up on the bottom perfectly

There is not much to say here, other than you cannot make authentic paella without the appropriate rice. The product came quickly and was in perfect, clean condition. The paella was a success, thanks to this rice! Will order again.

A great rice for paella or any dish that requires a short grain absorbent rice. Neutral flavor.
