Simple, effective, inexpensive pocket-size fire-lighter
Simple to use and refill the 'high' setting produces a compact high-pressure 'jet' flame, while the 'low' setting produces a softer flame more like a generic cigarette lighter, the one suitable to kick-start a barbecue or ignite kindling in a wood-burner while the second will light candles or gas burners. (A point to note is that when lighting the thing using the built-in electric striker it has to be set on 'high': no matter what I did I couldn't strike a flame in the 'low' position but going high to low worked every time and only takes a little getting used to.) Thanks to a modest fixed 'stand' it can be safely set down to cool down, or, if the surface is heat-proof it can be used to kick-start a kindling 'teepee' (or to shrink insulation, and seal the cut ends of nylon cordage). Like virtually all such gadgets it only needs care and attention in use and to recognise it has inherent limitations. If you need a lighter small enough to slip into a pocket but up to the more demanding domestic duties like lighting a wood-burner, or undemanding workshop tasks like igniting a propane burner it will do fine, just don't imagine it will weld anything or strip paint. While obviously made from a reasonably tough heat-resistant plastic my assumption is it will be a *lot* happier living in the kitchen drawer than being dumped in a jar in a garden shed or tossed in with the garage tools, both because it lacks a moisture-resistant cap and the filling valve is exposed, and the outer casing isn't exactly bomb-proof... but then if any of that applied it would probably be a *lot* bigger and far more costly.
