For some time I have been looking for an alternative to a steam wand for getting good micro foam in milk. My wife and I drink a mocha latte every day. I got decent results with the steam wand on the Breville Bambino Plus, but I wanted a standalone alternative. I had tried the Maestri House unit and several wands. The Maestri House is good at producing large amounts of thick foam for a cappuccino, but I could never get it to create micro foam for lattes. Well, the Dreo does this perfectly. It is very high quality micro foam that is smooth and silky. It has a distinct creamy mouth feel that is unmistakable. For best results use whole milk. This is a great product that does exactly what it claims to do. EDIT: 05-07-2025 Out of the box this is a great product. Unfortunately, it is built to a price point that, at least in my case, meant that its performance did not last. I have had this for about 4 1/2 months using it it almost daily, and it is no longer creating the excellent microfoam it did when new. Moreover, it is no longer even able to heat the milk sufficiently. New, I consistently got milk in the 140-150F range. Today, I measured 114F at the end of the cycle. Very disappointing. I can no longer recommend this product.

This is such a perfect little machine, I'm not sure why anyone would bother with any of the alternatives out there for foaming/frothing/heating milk (including steam wands on espresso machines). It super easy to use, with perfect results every time (I've been using whole cow milk thus far). The biggest plus is that clean-up is a breeze. I had actually tried the Subminimal Nanofoamer Pro (V2) first and while the quality of the foam was nice the clean-up was way too finicky as was the set up. The Dreo's screen and UI makes it a pleasure to use with no guesswork involved. I pair this with my faithful Aeropress and have been enjoying better-than-cafe quality cappuccinos on the daily. Love this little machine so much I'm now gifting it to friends and family, so buy with confidence.

This has become a daily staple in my house. The only issue is that when texturing milk, it does not heat up as much as I would like. Instead I have to run the stir setting on low to heat it up first and then run the texturing setting which is a bit of an annoyance. That being said, as mentioned, it is a daily staple so despite that annoyance, the result is worth it in my opinion.

I saw someone using the BaristaMaker in a video on social media and it intrigued me. I’ve purchased several types of frothers in the past and every one made coffee foam with big bubbles that deflated quickly and turned back into regular milk. I had kind of given up hope that I would be able to find an at-home frother that would give me the same milk experience as being at a coffee shop. With that being said, I could not be more pleased with this purchase. I first tried the frother with the thick cold foam setting on and I loved the results. I was able to make two iced lattes with the amount of milk at the “minimum” setting. I’ve been testing adding other ingredients such as a splash of maple syrup or some cinnamon and everything has blended well with this product. Today for the first time I used the hot latte feature and was prepared to be disappointed. The cold foam was great but i’ve never had a good experience with hot latte milk. After using this feature, not only was I able to make the PERFECT latte at home, but the milk actually STAYED frothed in my coffee. I let it sit for a good 10 minutes or so in my coffee cup just to see and the milk was still frothed! I was truly shocked! I can’t wait to try the cappuccino setting as lattes can be a bit too much milk for me at times but WOW. This frother is truly a game changer for me. One small recommendation for anyone who loves a little convenience… if you purchase frozen coffee pods through Cometeer, you can defrost one of the pucks in the microwave for a minute and use that as your espresso and paired with the milk frothed through the BaristaMaker it seriously is the PERFECT latte. Could not be happier with this purchase.

I got this for latte art, and regret it. After using for months to give it more chances, I still cannot get it to work consistently. Sometimes I get enough froth, most times it just spins milk. Recently, it decided not to froth at all and is merely spinning milk with squeaking sound (not milk stretching sound). I should have gone for the Nanofoamer Pro to save myself the frustration. Issues: 1) When it does work, the froth is very thin so I have to use cappuccino rather than latte setting to get enough foam. 2) It’s lukewarm when using milk from fridge, only getting to about 130 F, so not hot enough. Ideal temperature is 150-170F. 3) Inconsistent. Never know if you’ll get froth. More often than not, it’s no froth or not enough. 4) Doesn’t froth anymore, after only months.

I did not expect much but this foam frother quality is luxurious Very smart design that you can detach the rotation to clean, magnetic so never fall during pouring Consistent every time I use for matcha stirrings as well and better than in the shop I regret I did not know earlier.

**Rating: ★★☆☆☆ 2/5** Update (June 2026): Lowering my recommendation even further. Unfortunately, I have to update this review after the replacement unit also failed. This time, the frother stopped working, the base became extremely hot, and it actually started smoking. I immediately unplugged it and took it outside to cool down because I wasn’t comfortable leaving it plugged in. After cleaning everything, I tried it again. I could hear the motor running, but the whisk would no longer spin. I also purchased Amazon’s protection plan with this unit, but that ended up being a frustrating experience as well. Every attempt to file a claim resulted in an error. After spending time with Amazon support, they ultimately refunded the purchase instead. What makes this so frustrating is that I genuinely love using this product when it works. The convenience is outstanding, the microfoam is excellent, and it fits perfectly into my morning coffee routine. I haven’t found another automatic milk frother that offers the same combination of features and ease of use. Unfortunately, after two separate units failing, one after a few months and another with what appeared to be an overheating issue, I can no longer recommend it with confidence. Pros: * Excellent microfoam. * Extremely convenient. * Works with dairy and plant-based milk. * Makes great lattes with minimal effort. Cons: * Poor long-term reliability (2 units failed). * One unit overheated and began smoking. * Customer support has been disappointing. * The protection plan experience was frustrating and ultimately unhelpful. Bottom line: This is one of those products that is fantastic when it’s working, but I would only buy it knowing there’s a real possibility you’ll be replacing it sooner than expected. I still wish someone would make a product this convenient with better reliability.

Really enjoyed this, easy to use and dishwasher safe. Providing 3 star as the heating element has failed after just over a year.

Ich nutze den Dreo jetzt seit knapp einem Jahr. Die Latte Art Funktion funktioniert sehr gut mit Kuh- und Hafermilch. Natürlich kann der Schaum nicht so optimiert werden, dass er eine Profimaschine ersetzt, aber für den Hausgebrauch funktioniert es super. So gibt es täglich Cappuccino mit Herz. Für andere Motive fehlt mir der Skill. Die Milchmenge ist nicht variabel und reicht ca für 2 kleine Milchgetränke. Der feste Schaum fällt bei uns immer schnell zusammen. Die Funktion nutzen wir aber nicht. Das Handling ist super einfach und Behälter und Schaumeinsatz können in der Spülmaschine gereinigt werden. Es gab eine Störung nach knapp einem Jahr, die durch den Kundensupport sofort und professionellbearbeitet wurde.

I had originally purchased the Bodum unit but it broke within a week of use! The single canister design is bad as inevitably some moisture will get to the bottom electric contacts for these type of units. The Dreo is a two-piece unit, so cleaning the cup area is easy and safe. So that is a big plus, don't waste your money and time on any brand one-piece design, get a two-piece. Now onto the Dreo itself. My wife uses it for Almond and Oat Milk only and it works fantastic! With the regular spinner, froths great and heats up evenly and effectively. Also, it is very very quiet, almost hard to hear it running so this is a great bonus that no reviews mentioned! The menu is easy to navigate and to select what you would like from froth to temp, etc. We have not tried the larger impeller blade, as the regular one works like a charm. Almost 2 weeks now of daily use, and works like a charm every time! I highly recommend this Dreo unit as it seems built to last, is easy to use and clean, and offers so many options/settings to customize what you want. A definate 5-star product and thanks!
