I recently moved into a house that the drains get clogged easily. First time one clogged I bought a handheld drum snake tried for hours with no luck and ended up paying a plumber $420 others wanted $500 so the next time I got a clog I tried the handheld one for a hour with no luck. I was able to get the handheld one to the clog but not push through, the clog was right near a floor drain so for the week I waited I just had the laundry sink that the upstairs sink backed up into unattached at the pea trap so that the sink upstairs just flowed into the floor and went down the drain while still being protected from sewer gas. When it came I took 15 minutes to unbox and set it up and 10 minutes to unclog. Just keep in mind if you have no experience at all with snaking a drain you need to be very careful and watch some videos but it’s not rocket science. There were several 90 degree turns but with the auto feed and foot pedal with reverse switch it was easy to maneuver but if you didn’t know what you were doing at all you could easily get it stuck and kinked in the pipe with the power it has behind it. Very happy it is the same quality of machine you would end up spending double the price for at a big box store. So if you can wait a week for delivery I highly recommend if your at all handy it pays for itself the first time you use it.

When I bought this I was unsure from some of the reviews and after receiving it I’m certain that the bad reviews were from improper use. We have a problem drain and I’ve paid to have it snaked on 3 occasions which were well over the price of this machine. I wasn’t sure on which one to get but after buying the 1/2”x 100ft machine I know now that with this machine and cable you wouldn’t want to snake any pipe much over 2 inches in diameter unless you’re able to get the machine within the 2 foot recommended distance from the pipe which unfortunately I wasn’t. (Anything over 2 inches I would suggest going with the 3/4” cable). Even though I couldn’t get the recommended 2 foot from the pipe it still worked. When the plumber snaked my drain they only used the spiral head and had me run water and they called it good. 4 months and then 6 months after that it was clogged again and they had to come back for another $200 each time. This machine comes with a piece that you can attach that has 2 pieces that stick out about 1 1/2 that I decided to run down the pipe after the spiral head and I could feel it grabbing onto something. After pulling it out I discovered it had wrapped a ridiculous amount of hair (appeared to be dog hair) around the tip and cable. Now the drain is working better than it has in the 7 years we’ve lived here.There’s not much information on how to use the machine but since I had to help the plumber all 3 times I had an idea of how to use it but I did learn to go slow turning the machine on and off as you feed the cable so it doesn’t twist and kink. I definitely recommend this machine and the only thing that I wish it had come with would be a scraper head for 2 inch pipe which if it clogs again I’ll be purchasing but It comes with 2 scraper heads for 3 inch pipe. This machine is well worth the money and I would also like to mention that you don’t want to use the retractable function to wind the cable back into the drum. It doesn’t wrap it properly and it’s much easier to push it by hand back into the drum. It doesn’t take much effort to push it in and it wraps back in perfectly. Hope this helps others.

I got this drain snake and started running it into my sewer line roughly 30’ in the automatic drive started acting up. Tried to retract the cable and it wouldn’t retract. Contacted the seller and asked for a refund. They were going to send me a new automatic feed part and by chance lost it on its way the the warehouse. Then they tried to offer me a whopping $50 dollars for my troubles and when I told them I want a full refund again they bumped up my refund to the grand total of $80. Don’t deal with this company. I’m out over $450 and didn’t even get to use the machine. Hopefully someone higher up in this company sees this and tries to make it right. Buy a rigid instead.

You can pay a plumber or you can buy this. I am very, very grateful for this machine. I had tried a hand-turned 100 foot snake, but could not get it done. This thing has power and it got the job done.Its a quality machine and its a keeper.

Worked well. Had to use the whole hundred foot of the cable and it went in without a flaw. Used a couple of the interchangeable heads. Ran it in and out again several times to make sure I cleared the clog. Cable went in great and came out and rewound on the drum perfectly. Glad I have it. Will eventually save me lots of money.
