Is this compatible with screen protectors?

Yes this is compatible with screen protectors

Is this case 5g compatible? Verizon says 5g requires a specific kind of case (and probably want to sell me one of theirs)

My S23 Ultra is through U.S. Cellular and is the 5G model. This case works and fits just fine with no issues.

Can I use a PopSocket with this?

Yes you can place a PopSocket on the case. It a very solid nice case. It's worth the price It's very hard to take the case off your phone.
