Impressive presentation
Love this product. Have had it for over a year and it’s functioning well. The ability to smoke a cocktail AND use the glass cloche to smoke plums, nectarines, and/or burrata is amazing. Always a crowd pleaser.

Adds a surprising amount of smoke taste quickly and easily
I have a Komodo Joe but sometimes it's too much work to fire it up for a 12 hour brisket smoke. I received this kit two weeks ago and have made the following: 1 - "oh my god" Old Fashioneds using the drink attachment 2 - smoked butter - it is so much better than I can describe and something that is next to impossible to make with a standard smoker due to heat 3 - quicked smoked salmon (less than 2 minutes from costco filet to smoked) (put frozen filets in the refrigerator overnight with a coating of brown sugar, dill, and salt, slice thin in the morning (it will still be a little firm which helps slice thin), and smoke it. I mixed cherry wood, three fronds of rosemary, a clove, a tiny amount of dill, and a black pepper corn for the fire. I let the smoke sit in the lid for three minutes. It was fantastic. 4 - "smoked" chopped brisket with beans and Italian flavors (I braised a marinated section of brisket with tomato, garlic, herbs, red wine, carrots, onions, celery and garlic. Once the meat was done I chopped it and smoked it using walnut wood. I mixed that with canelli beans, spinach, white wine and some herbs and cooked for 15 minutes. It was fantastic. 5 - smoked carrots - I braised carrots in dashi which already gave it a little smoke flavor but I wanted more. 30 seconds in cedar smoke gave me the flavor I was looking for. 6 - smoked egg salad on toast - I made a mayonnaise and garlic forward egg salad. I spread it out in a bowl and smoked it for 60 seconds. I re-mixed it an served it on toast with thinly sliced/pickled fennel. I would sell this out of a food truck and have a line around the block. You will find 101 uses for this kit once you start experimenting. My only request would be for a silicon gasket for the glass lid. I have improvised with a silicon mat but too much smoke escaped too quickly without some sort of sealing barrier for the dome to sit on.

3.5 Stars - If the cloche weren't lousy for cocktails, this would be an excellent kit
I'm not new to smoking cocktails. I've been playing with various smoking techniques for the better part of a year now and own far too many gadgets, toys, and implements. Fortunately, one of those items is a tall glass cloche because the one included in this kit is mind-bogglingly and disappointingly too short. I'm sure it would work well for cheeses, shot glasses, and other small items, but for standard cocktail glasses? Only if you’re serving leprechauns. See my photo of a standard-height Double Old Fashioned (DOF) glass as evidence. At the cloche's highest point, it rests ON TOP of the glass and doesn't touch the table. My shortest, not-standard-sized DOF fits under the cloche but doesn't leave enough room for the smoke to work its way into the glass. You can see this in the first part of my uploaded video (the video also includes an infusion using a tall cloche with a standard DOF second and the wooden cap/DOF third). The included cloche is well-made using thick glass, so if you want to smoke food, you'll probably like this, but it's useless for most cocktail purposes. The rest of the kit? That shines, fortunately, which made it worthwhile for me. The smoker is very good quality. It’s mostly metal components with the exception of the base and battery (2 AA) compartment, unlike my other smoking units, and despite being quieter than anything else I own, it’s more powerful, filling my tall cloche with little effort, a job my last standing unit can’t accomplish. The stainless steel filter and rubber hose are thicker and higher quality than I’m used to with these devices. The tip is removable for cleaning and tube replacement. The wood chip holder is easy to load, offering plenty of open space, and easy to lock into place and remove when needed. Additionally, the top part of the unit comes off without a struggle, making the unit super simple to clean. Extra filters, a small screwdriver, and a cleaning brush are included to aid that endeavor. The wooden glass cap is also good quality, smooth, solid, and lightweight. It disperses a lot more smoke than my plastic cap, which I don’t love, but it imparts a better flavor, so I’ll learn to ventilate better. Three types of wood chips are included in this kit–one tin each of Apple and Cherry and a sample bag of Walnut. All three I already own and have used previously (as well as several others from Smoky Craft). They aren’t as nuanced as my favorite brand, but they are a close second and far better than many options on the market. I’m certainly not disappointed to have more. Overall, I recommend this kit with one caveat: if you want to make cocktails using a cloche (and you should; it can differ considerably from the caps), invest in a separate, appropriately-sized glass dome and enjoy using it with this standing smoker.

Smoke kit with smoke gun.
I use this smoke kit at least 2-3 times a month. It's easy to use and is a great item for anyone who likes to cook. Worth the price and easy to use.
