Garmin inReach® Messenger Plus, SOS Satellite Communicator

Just phenomenal! I went doing my own survivor on a Deserted island in French Polynesia near Fakarava, literally a n the middle of the Pacific Ocean if you have a look in Google maps. I used it every day and every evening for 30 days. I only kept it on basically 1 hour in the morning and at the end of the day to check messages from friends and family. I sent voice messages, text messages and pictures very easily! I took a basic plan every month but the full plan for my trip. A big success and so easy to use with the Garmin App. A must have if you hike in the wilderness if you travel to connect with people and to have a chance to be rescued if needed, the option I did not use. All messages or pictures or other options go with your GPS coordinates for people to follow you. In a close future I am sure the Garmin messenger will come with the possibility to send 5s video or even a way to call. Thank you Garmin. My trip would have not been the safe without your product and it kept a safe relation in between my people and myself.

Works great in the plane at 600 mph. No complaints except for the price. Great way to keep in touch during flights.

Works better than I expected

Took it to the Artic Circle in Northern Alaska. Worked great! Great msg turn around time and weather retrieval. Connected it to the Explorer app on my phone and was able to show friends and family my route track. The ability to send pictures is a game changer with these types of devices. Did not use voice message feature. Full battery lasted about 4 days.

Fast delivey. Great Product. It works perfect. It is very easy to operate it.

Ordered this as an upgrade to my inreach mini 1 after reading reviews and watching YouTube videos, let me start by saying I hike regularly in the UK with my mini 1 and it’s never let me down, messages and check-in are a breeze, even worked when I got in a bit of bother in the mountains in Montana! Now the ‘Messenger Plus’ I chose this for the voice message and photo features which I have to say while within Cell/Internet coverage worked very well and delivered swiftly (within 2 minutes)……now for the big problem, while hiking in Montana USA I sent my ‘Test’ message to the Garmin Iridium Certus and it came back ‘Test’ was ok and ready to use, we all know it takes a bit longer for messages to send in the mountains and forest but even so I sent to important updates by voice messages and neither of them got received until I actually got back to my car several hours later! Of course I was safe but my family never knew that! Such a shame really as it’s very compact and lighter than my Mini 1 but I’m returning it as it spooked me out being alone in the mountains and not getting reply’s, I know it’s not the newest model but I’m going back to my Mini 1, may not have voice messages but texting works fine and in my opinion faster reply even though it’s on rge old iridium system.
