Good product but insufficient ankle support
I like how big and strong the tail / fin is. The detachable neoprene foot part holds to the hard fin with 3 Velcro straps and can be dried separately. On using it I noticed that ankle support was missing, and a lot of leg movement did not transfer to the fin beating, but instead overstrained my ankles. Until I find a way to secure the fin to my ankles, I won't be able to get the benefits of monofin swimming for my back and abdomen. I'm a bit sad but hopeful that I can find a system.

Amazing customer service
****After almost a year of use***** This product is worth every penny. It comes with a 1 year warranty where they will replace the product for free if it has any breaks or tears. I sent in these photos and they promptly shipped me out a new fin for my daughter. 10/10

Comfortable, but with issues
I usually swim with a Finis Rapid, but wanted something more for fun that wouldn't give me foot cramps. I've used the different versions of the Finfun monofin, but couldn't get enough power from it and felt like I was just wearing a wobbly sock. The SunTail fin has the thicker plastic fin, so I figured power would be much better (and it is). Some issues though: Like the Finfun, the main thing you're pushing against on the downstroke is the neoprene, which stretches and isn't super efficient. The straps on the SunTail (this fin) are a major improvement for me over the FinFun, but I practically have to push my toes against the mid strap to make use of it. The low strap is too far down for any size feet (I wear a 43 usually) and doesn't do much. Friends who have smaller feet and tried it couldn't reach and found the fin to be uncomfortable to swim with. I wish the mid strap connected to the fin between the feet and offered a better method of tensioning the velcro strap. After maybe 8 hours of use total and putting the fin on/off a dozen time, I noticed a split in the seam between the ankle cuff and main section. Easy enough to sew, but it makes me uncomfortable for future failures on more important spots. All in all, I'm pretty happy with my choice, though it really will just be a "comfy loafer" kind of fin for the pool. I'll probably take a crack at modifying it myself and moving the strap to hold my feet better. Fits FinFun and SunTail skins just fine. UPDATE: SunTails reached out after my review was posted and sent a replacement foot pocket almost immediately. Haven't used the new one yet, but I appreciate the immediate attention. As they mention on the listing, the fins are covered against defects for 1 year.

Fun for swimming! Tight for wide feet
Really like the rigidity of the fin. It’s not hard like glass but just ever so slightly flexible. One can really propel oneself through the water after perfecting one’s “flipper technique.” The sock part is fraying after just a few days of swimming, although neoprene doesn’t hem like other fabrics. We went with the Keiki size for my tween (sz 6 shoe US) but the sock is difficult to put on once her feet are wet, perhaps due to wide feet and being on the upper end of the size scale. We have no problem cinching the fin into the sock with the Velcro and the straps work quite well for us. Ideally there would be a medium sock offered with the Keiki fin. But I’ll exchange the current one under warranty when it rips completely.
