A good small little radio. Good solar panel and wind up ability. Plus it can take AAA batteries. The ability to charge your phone is also a great addition. The torch is bright and the alarm is very loud. Got this at around £30 and was good value at that price.

I haven’t used all the features of this radio other than to test them but I’m impressed with the quality of sound in the radio. So easy to charge with all the options available - the windup feature is particularly easy to use and surprisingly efficient. The casing is sturdy.

The first thing I noticed when I picked up this radio was how sturdy and well made it felt. There are three options to power it; rechargeable battery (included), AA batteries, hand-crank power. Reception is good with the attached ariel and sound quality quite adequate. These is also a built in torch / SOS light.

This radio is a lots more expensive than those unknown brands but it really worths the extra cost. It is a well polished product, as you immediately feel it from the package to the build quality. The weight is well balanced, and light weight, easy to hold on hands. Speakers are good. Sound is clear; volume can go very soft for everyday use, to really loud for the SOS siren. I haven't done the stress test on the battery life though. If you have budget, I highly recommend this one. You will want the reliability in the case of emergency.

I bought the Phillips TAR1609 because of it's multifunctionality; it's a power bank, torch, distress alarm, can be solar powered, crank-charged, mains or (3x) AAA battery powered. It's to replace my trusty old (2x) AA battery powered AM/FM Sony (which is still working, but I'm not sure for how long). It's nicely compact (150mm x 85mm x 65mm). Remember that this is an AM/FM radio - so no digital stations - but reception is decent enough. The green solar power charging indicator seems to activate as soon as it sniffs any light - even when sat with window blinds between itself and the sun, let alone in direct sunlight. I have no timings for how long it takes to fully charge (either by solar or hand-crank). The tuning and volume dials are comfortable enough, but like my old Sony - the volume dial tends to go from 'zero' to 'three', omitting 'one' and 'two'. Some kind of indicator would've helped to tell what percent charge it currently has. One thing of note is that the box appeared to already be opened; the adhesive circular-tape seal was missing, and the radio looked like it might have been a return (the plastic film over the dial display appeared slightly weathered, indicating previous human contact), so that and the lack of power indicator is one star knocked off. Overall, a recommended buy.

Brilliant emergency radio. Really good solar panel, the radio stays on for a good hour even after being on the windowsill for just one day. Light is ok too. Good Sony quality, sound not bad for a teensy speaker. Wind up is good too, easy to crank.

Unit has a torch and sound alarm. When You will push alarm button - torch light will flash and alarm sound will be heard. Perfect solution in case of emergency. You may charge Your electronic devices using USB interface ( classic USB or USB C ). Unit has own battery to be recharged with solar panel or by manuał charging using crank. You may also place 3×AAA batteries. FM radio will be useful for receiving latest news. For me - perfect unit.

MUY BUENA RADIO. La verdad es que esta radio es de muy buena calidad (es lo que tiene confiar en una marca contrastada durante décadas). Sintoniza TODAS las emisoras sin problemas y la gran mayoría de ellas sin tan siquiera desplegar la antena. El sonido es muy limpio y sin interferencias ni reverberaciones, el volumen es más que suficiente para una buena escucha, incluso en exteriores. La multitud de opciones de alimentación (pilas, batería interna recargable, luz solar, dinamo manual, etc) hace casi imposible que no la puedas utilizar en caso de emergencia. Me vino de perlas el pasado lunes 28 de abril durante el apagón general (ese que, según algunos, era IMPOSIBLE que ocurriese en este país tan “avanzado”). Por ser “tiquismiquis” y sacarle alguna pega para que no parezca que me pagan por el comentario, le faltan unas piezas de goma anti deslizante en la base para que no resbale si lo pones en superficies lisas inclinadas (véase el capó de un coche/furgoneta). La recomiendo al 100%.

Ich bin restlos begeistert. Wir nutzen es täglich. Wir kurbeln es nur und haben endlich ein Radio ohne Rauschen in der Küche! Es ist so klein, dass es im Katastrophenfall (möge dieser bitte niemals eintreten) mitgenommen werden kann. Ich kann mich allen positiven Rezensionen komplett anschließen.

Llegó antes de lo esperado, nuevo en su caja original! Hasta ahora funciona todo bien, la luz es buena y el SOS suena fuerte, tiene muy buena calidad de sonido. Es un poco más grande d ELO que esperaba, pensaba que sería más de bolsillo pero no hay problema, sigue siendo muy compactó.
