Leonardo and the Flying Boy (Anholt's Artists)

My granddaughter loves these books and now has most of them telling the stories behind the paintings. I have also bought the children's Shakespeare illustrated stories and she loves it. Often asked to read from the artists or Shakespeare so it’s surprising how much knowledge she has absorbed, so that when the topics are touched on in school she is ahead with a good understanding.When reading to her she asked questions so I can give a little more information and we discuss. Great for a child just turned 7 years.I would definitely recommend for children.

In these days when so much children's literature is sickly and politically correct it's good to find something more discerning. A joy to share with young grandchildren.

Beautifully written and illustrated and we'll summarised for the primary young audience.My 4 years old enjoys it over and over again while his 10 years old brother listen in the background and got inspired to explore Leonardo further

This is the story of how Leonardo takes on a wild street boy who steals an invention, and the consequences. Really exciting story, plus gives a real feel for what it might have been like in Leonardo's studio. As always, Anholt is educational too - real pages from L's notebooks, plus notes on the story to show what bits are factual. My 4 year old loves this and so do I.

I love these books, they are a great way to inspire children and interest them in art and artists. I have read them with my own children and used them in school with children from nursery age to year 4 (3-9 yrs).

I love this series of books. It's a good way to introduce the work of famous artists to young children.

Lovely story and a great introduction to the work of Leonardo da Vinci. My three-year-old son really enjoys this book.
