Osmosis Skincare Clarify Clearing Retinal Serum 1 Fl Oz (30 mL)

I got this for my wife and so far it's been used sparingly during her facial regimen. She likes the packaging and the bottle makes it easy to dispense and apply. It dries pretty quickly, but feels nice and moisturizing. It lasts throughout the day and seems to work very well. This is a very competitive market for these types of products but this one should definitely be considered as an option for you if your looking for one. Overall it's a great choice.

I've tried a couple of Osmosis products before and loved them, so I was excited to give this a try. My skin isn't particularly oily, though sometimes it does get oily in my T-zone and chin. I'm not prone to breakouts, but get occasional pimples. So I thought that this might be a good choice for the times when my skin needs something for more oily skin than my standard dry to standard skincare product choices.The serum is a transparent dark yellow-burnt orange, somewhat watery but thick enough not to run right off my hand and has a light smell of something herbal or plant-like. I can't pin it down further than that, but it's not unpleasant, even if I prefer unscented skin care products. It goes on very smoothly and spreads easily. It sinks in fairly well, but leaves a filmy residue that persists for longer than I would like before finally disappearing. I like the feeling on my skin initially, but it starts to burn a bit fairly quickly. This does have a higher level of retinol (it's still on the low end) than most of my other skin care with retinol as an ingredient and I do have sensitive skin, so I'm going to chalk it up to that. Retinol is one of those things you need to work up to.Unfortunately, while this does indeed eliminate the oily patches I'm currently having on my forehead and chin, it also dries the skin out in those places (though at first my skin looks great) and gave me a minor breakout (not purging from the retinol), which is very unusual for me. I think that my skin may very well just not be oily enough for this product and that it's drying me out so badly because of that. I also wouldn't be surprised if that was the source of the breakout, rather than the retinol or some other ingredient.Overall, I'd say this is probably a good product for those with all-over or at least consistently but fairly significantly oily skin. For the rest of us, it does seem to do some good (I did notice a bit of lessening of slightly dark spots that I have on top of my cheekbones), but it doesn't seem like the best choice of product.In terms of value for the money, it's hard for me to say since my skin didn't like this and was likely not suited to it to start with. I do think that if your skin is oily, though, that this could be quite good. I'm basing that on my previous Osmosis experiences and the fact that it seems like a quality product. But because I had a not-so-great experience with it and can't truly speak for those with a different skin-type, my opinion on the value may not be as accurate as it would be otherwise.The verdict: While it didn't work for my skin (not oily enough, which resulted in dryness and a breakout), I think that this could still be good for someone with much oilier skin than I have. I'm giving it a 3 because it seems like quality, but it didn't work for me due to my own decision to try something for a different skin-type that I thought might help with issues I have occasionally. Neither recommended nor recommended since I can't speak to its effectiveness on truly oily skin.

This is an excellent serum that performs well even outside its primary marketing focus. While it’s designed for oily and blemish-prone skin, I use it for concerns related to pigmentation and enlarged pores on the nose. In that regard, it has been effective and worth continuing.The serum is lightweight with a tea tree oil scent. The texture absorbs cleanly without leaving an oily or heavy residue. When additional moisture is needed, it layers well under other treatment products or creams without pilling or interfering with absorption. Those unfamiliar with active ingredients, may experience some initial sensitivity or stinging.The packaging is well-executed. The pump is both sanitary and practical—there’s no need for open jars or spatulas, which improves the overall hygiene of the product and helps preserve its integrity.I appreciate the brand’s broader ethos. Osmosis approaches skincare as one part of a holistic wellness model, which is consistent with how I think about long-term skin health. I also appreciate that the serum is at least partly plant based and the ingredients are all powerhouses yet fairly clean.The serum is a little pricey but the effectiveness and quality make it a fairly good value. Overall, this is a well-formulated product with thoughtful design with a clear focus on efficacy.

This has been a very nice serum. I use a mild retinoid at a baseline, and have incorporated this when I start to have issues with blemishes. So far I’m happy with how this performs. The serum is a medium to thin consistency, and won’t drip all over after dispensing, it has a delicious lemon scent, and it absorbs well into my skin leaving some mild tackiness. It’s not recommended to use any retinoid in the morning, so I have found the absorption and skin feel to be just right for nighttime use. I follow with a moisturizer and occlusive. The only barrier to me continuing to use this is the price of about $70. This isn’t in my budget to buy all the time, but I’m very happy I had the opportunity to try it.

Really impressed by how soft this serum makes my skin feel. It's a simple pump application and frankly, 1 pump is plenty to use on the back of each hand. It dries after about 30-45 seconds and seems to be effective for my application. I think as far as premium beauty products go, this is a fair value. I would order it again if it went on sale.
