Nice cups!
Really love these cups. My kids hate the leak proof straws on most cups so these are a great solution and I haven't had them leak even when tipped over. They're slightly heavy but they're definitely durable. The only cons for me are that the straws really soak up any soap smells/taste so I've had to go to an all natural unscented dish detergent but that's probably better anyway. And the gasket/washer thing that's in the lid to give it a tight seal is definitely going to get lost in our house hold. It's almost clear and really thin, I just know they won't last long, but the cup seems to work fine and not leak without them.

My Search is Over
As crazy as it may sound, finding the right drinking cups for my kids has been challenging. Seems ridiculous right?! There are so many choices out there. In my attempts to find the โright oneโ I think Iโve tried most on the market to no avail. The ones Iโve brought have either fallen apart, broken too easily, the kids didnโt like them, they werenโt spill proof, or they werenโt cups the kids would continue using in a year or two. Finally my search is over!! I found Elk and Friends - and yes, they feel like true friends. This review is on the long end, but I have a lot to say about these fun cups. So this is not my first purchase from Elk and Friends. I recently purchased a couple sets of their 8oz glass cups and their 8oz stainless steel cups. WE LOVE THEM and the KIDS LOVE THEM!! They are the only cups they use now. The comment was from my oldest who wished the cups were a little larger. Fortunately, Elk and Friends was there for us again as they offer these cups in a 12oz version. A few notes about why we LOVE these cups โ the 12oz as well as their 8oz cups: 1. Eco friendly. Whenever possible we prefer to use glass and stainless for beverages and food. Also love their simple yet cute packaging. 2. Versatile. Use them as cups or containers. Great for kids and adults. In addition to the straw lid these cups also come with a matching leak proof lid. These are awesome for turning your cup into a snack or food storage container. The lids also work with our other regular mouth mason jars. So we can use them in the freezer or fridge for our other food storage. I know itโs not important but I love having the fun colors for my mason jars. It makes my mundane duties more fun. 3. Easy to replace glassware. Yes, glass is not indestructible but replacements glasses are easy to get. We have purchases other brands of glasses with silicone sleeves but the glass was thin and they all broke quickly. Itโs been challenging to get replacements for these other brands, and honestly I donโt want to spend any more money on them because they will be broken before we really use them. This is not an issue with Elk and Friends mason jar cups. Mason jars are much more robust and much easier to find. Also, when used on the jar, the lids and sleeves provide protection. We have had 2 cups fall from about 36โ height onto tile flooring - they both had their sleeves and lids on and neither of them broke, cracked or chipped. That is a huge win in my book. 4. Fun colors and matching lids and straws. The kids love to mix and match lids and straws for fun combinations of colors. 5. Well designed. I love the details that have gone into the design of these. The straws have built in stoppers so kids canโt yank the straw out of the cups. This can be a safety thing as much as a parent sanity helper. I received a bad eye injury when a kid yanked a plastic straw out of a cup which hit me in the eye. You know itโs bad when you canโt open your eye for a week and the optometrist says โWow!โ when they see the injury. I realize that the straw that come with these cups are silicone and much softer than plastic straw โ so there is less chance of injuries โ but itโs still a great feature to have the straw stopper. Also, these straws are tapered on the bottom to allow fluids to flow better. Brilliant! Note: The 12oz cups I ordered did not have straw stoppers like the straws that came with the 8oz cups. I passed on my request to the company and received a reply telling me that others have requested the same thing and that they are working on getting stoppers on the 12oz straw. This takes me to my next favorite note โ Awesome customer service. They listen to customers. 6. Awesome customer service. I have had no issues with any of my orders, but when I was wanted to order the 12oz cups, they were out. I reached out to Elk and Friends company to inquire about when the 12oz would be available. The owner responded very quickly, warmly yet professionally, and has kept me updated on the availability. I think we are friends now :) I have no doubt that if there was some fluke with any order, it would be promptly addressed, and the customer would be made better than whole. They have also gone the extra mile to follow up on my orders to make sure all was well. Who does that anymore?? Its companies like these I love supporting. 7. They make baby food jars too. We bought some years back for making and freezing baby food. No babies now but we still use the little jars for a variety of things. They and the lids have held up perfectly over the years. These Elk and Friends cups have been a lifesaver for us - a true godsend. The kids love them, and we are so happy to find these perfect kids cups. These will be my new favorite item to buy for baby gifts. We donโt have any cons. These cups really have been that good for us. I read a review where someone took a star away because they arenโt leak proof. This has not been an issue for us at all - not even a concern. Yes, if the cup is full and on its side, liquid may leak out from the straw hole. That should be expected since that happens with pretty much every straw and lid situation. On top of that, these cups arenโt advertised as being leak proof with the straw lid so donโt let that deter you. The other lids without the holes have been leak proof for us. All in all, these cups have saved us countless spills and water and other messes. They are a little more expensive than buying cheap plastic cups, but they are healthier, more durable, and much more versatile. Plus they can be your forever cups. Definitely worth the money! My only regret is that I didnโt get these sooner. Learn from my mistakes and just go with these mason jar cups from Elk and Friends!!

Good quality but buyers remorse. Not for toddlers
I like the construction of these but I jumped the gun purchasing them. I unboxed one and my 3 yr old knocked it off the counter and it shattered even with the silicone cover on. Was sad to realize they arenโt actual mason jars and they do not sell just the replacement glass. A little worried about the thin small silicone part that goes inside the rim. I see those getting lost in my house. Appreciated the cleaning brush that was included. The actual lid is plastic like that from a 3d printer. They are not leak proof as the lid is hard plastic and there is a tiny bit of space around the straw. The sleeves are very hard to get off and I am interested in seeing how well they clean if you donโt take it off.

Favorite everyday cups for home
Our favorite toddler cups. We love the 8oz set so much we had to order the larger. They will leak through the straw hole if tipped or if you forget the seal piece in the lid, but for ease of cleaning and durability theyโre a hit.

Love!
I want to give 5 stars but the only thing I donโt like is you canโt continuously chug from the straw because thereโs no hole for air flow. BUT it is mostly leak proof because of that. Itโs a good size where my baby can lift it and the silicone cover gives good grip. Itโs also been dropped multiple times on concrete and been fine. I like that there are 2 different lids

Strong glass
Great quality and the silicone sleeve keeps glass from breaking even when dropped from a table

Tough as heck and pretty spill proof
These things are built. Theyโve taken plenty of toddler-grade abuse โ drops, throws, the works โ and the glass has held up better than I expected (the silicone sleeve definitely helps). Spill-resistant lids do the job, no soaked couches so far. The one quirk is the straw. Sometimes my son just canโt pull enough water or milk through โ I think the straw gets suctioned to the bottom, or thereโs not enough airflow inside the cup. He gives up and asks for help, or the lid pops off and weโre back to spill-risk drinking. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing. Pros: โข Glass is tougher than expected, silicone sleeve helps โข Spill-resistant when sealed โข Easy to clean (dishwasher safe) โข Right size for little hands โข Looks nicer than plastic toddler cups Cons: โข Straw can suction to the bottom, making it hard to drink โข May not work well for younger or weaker sippers โข Glass is still glass โ hard floors can win Tips: โข Donโt overfill โ leave room at the top for airflow โข Show your kid the trick of pulling the straw up slightly to break the suction โข Replace the straws periodically if they get bent or clogged

Wish they were more durable
I love everything about these EXCEPT they really aren't durable. I purchased the four pack in March and today, July 13, I threw away my final cup after it cracked thanks to my two year old knocking it off of her high chair tray (yes, the silicone sleeve was on). I imagine they're wonderful for older kiddos, but don't recommend for younger toddlers.

Perfect
The glass is nice and thick so will be able to withstand a few drops here and there. The silicone is also great quality, and the colours are lovely, photos are very accurate. For the price, this set is great value.

Love these cups!
My kids are ages 1-1/2 through 7 and we love these cups for our kids! We don't at all regret spending the money. We got two sets and love them. They aren't as leak proof as some baby cups, but we don't need them to be completely leak proof. The straws fit snuggly in the hole and we love that the straw cannot be pulled out. The straw has an angle on the end that goes in the cup so the straw doesn't suction to the bottom causing frustration with drinking. We mostly use them with the straw. I love that they come with the solid lid for snacks and sealing the cup up in the fridge if my kids don't drink all their smoothie at once. The straw is a great diameter for thick things like smoothies and easy for things like water as well. The lids all came with their own gasket unlike some of the reviews we read. No need to swap gaskets around, they all have their own. The colours are beautiful. I highly recommend these cups! We have had one of the jars break, but can replace those so not a big deal. My Toddler threw it down hard on our merciless hard tile floor. These have been thrown down on our laminate floor lots and been just fine.

Great kids glass cups with different lid options.
Exactly what we needed, love the option of changing lids. We have other Elk and Friends baby jars, and have loved them, but needed something bigger now for a growing child.

Great kids cups
We love these tumblers for our toddlers. I love that they're glass, not plastic, but still light enough for the little kids and have the protective silicone.

Love these!
I use them with the lid but with no straw for my 3 year old and it's perfect. Easy to clean by just throwing in the dishwasher and I'm not worried about any harmful chemicals leaching into the drink because it's made of glass. It also has a travel lid to easy to toss into a bag without worrying about spills. So practical that the whole family uses them, not just our preschooler.
