Excellent in every way, never looked back. Perfect for walking, running, at work and at home.
I've always struggled to keep earbuds in my ear, and I've always hated the hollow earplug-like feeling of a rubber tip jammed in your ear canal, so when I came across the Nothing Ear (open)s, I was intrigued. I've been a fan of Nothing's approach and company mission - making tech fun and expressive through their thoughtful and unique design language - so this product looked like the perfect fit for me, and I was absolutely right! My first concern would be sound quality, considering the earbuds don't actually make direct contact with your ear canal and the speakers inside are tiny - but somehow, they made it work! The sound quality is clear, it gets loud, and because it doesn't block the ear canal, all the natural sound comes through as if you weren't wearing anything at all. Obviously, this means there's no noise cancelling - but that's fine with me. The only drawback is that the sound begins to distort once you go above 60% volume - the bass falls off as you get louder, which makes sense as it's not making direct contact with your ear. Probably something about the laws of physics. These earbuds support dual-device connectivity, so you can seamlessly switch between a video on a laptop and a call on your phone - and connect immediately to both my phone and my laptop the second I take them out of the case, every single time. Battery life is another huge plus - the cylinder tip helps keep each bud attached to your ear, and doubles up as the battery. I've been using these earbuds for over a year - usually for 3-5 hours at a time - and I've never come close to killing the battery life. The case rarely needs recharging, either - another thing you just don't need to worry about. The only thing I'd change in a future generation is the addition of wireless charging - you can only recharge with the USB-C port on the case. Speaking of the case, some people say it's difficult to store due to its shape - being flatter and longer, rather than more compact but thicker (like the AirPods cases) - but I've had no problem at all, and actually prefer this as it sticks out of pockets much less. As I mentioned earlierl, the design of Nothing products has always resonated strongly with me and the Ear (open) is no exception, with a semi-transparent case that lets you see the sleek black circuit boards inside each bud, and a case that always leaves them visible. The transparent plastic on the case scratches easily, so don't bother keeping it in pristine condition - and the cylindrical battery part of each earbud sits loosely, rather than magnetically attaching to the case - so there's some rattle if you shake the case - but this has never been an issue for me. Overall, the Nothing Ear (open) has met (and exceeded!) my expectations, and I could never imagine leaving home without them again!

Fantastic open earphones
I don't often leave reviews but these certainly deserve a few minutes of my time. Carl Pei and the nothing team have done a splendid job. I have thought about getting these for a little while now but we are going skiing soon. So with their new price and excellent reviews, i thought I'd give them a go with the view to use them on the slopes. In short, they don't sound as good as my top headphones or earphones but for open earphones they are simply incredible. I am a bit of an audiophile who puts sound quality above all else, and these actually deliver sonically. Having the full awareness of your surroundings at all times is a game changer, previously i was always anxious that i would miss what is going on around me such as announcements, doorbells, or family members calling for me. I have full confidence that they will give me hours of joy on the slopes while be fully aware of others around me. Paired with my nothing phone 2, they work seemlessly and they're a joy to use. Comfort is excellent too, i can wear them all day without any pain and not even realising that I'm wearing them. They are also very secure and have never fallen off even when I'm running. My new favourite audio accessory by far. Have used them for a couple of days and battery life seems decent. Only minor negative i can think of is the case seems a touch fragile though it's very well designed. Overall, I can't recommend them enough even at their full price.

Great product. Not flawless but still very impressive.
Great battery life Can connect to two devices simultaneously. I have a nothing phone for personal use and a Samsung for work, I can interchange between music from my personal phone to an incoming/outgoing call on my work phone seemlessly. The open sound quality is good, I can hear around me whilst having clear audio from the device. Microphone quality is very solid. Recipients will hear background noise if it's very loud such as a busy cafe, bar or airport. But generally even with this I have had no issues with calls. I have had a few issues with both of my phones deciding to jump between Bluetooth and phone speaker whilst on calls. Very rare but can be frustrating. Very comfortable to wear. I often forget I am wearing them when they have no sound passing throug. After wearing for a few hours and taking them off there are times where I have managed to forget that I have actually taken them off and have to check my ears with my hands... The touch control functionally takes a bit getting used too and can be particularly hard to get used to if you have larger fingers, or thick skin on your fingers. I'd imagine if you had long nails you may need to be careful to not scratch your ear if moving quickly to use these functions. Overall, fantastic purchase. I got them on offer for £69. I would consider these even at full price.

The best on ear headphones you can buy, and well priced too
I have another pair of open ear headphones and thought they were pretty good, and they are, but these are on another level The second I put them on they sounded like a pretty good pair of over ear headphones, the bass was actually pretty great, not haptic levels, but of course they wouldn't be The app was nice and easy to use, paired instantly, the controls are easy to use and responsive, very little chance of pressing anything accidently, a little fidgety to get used to the fit but once in place, light and comfortable The design is divisive for most, I don't really care how they look, it's not a fashion statement for me, but the sound is where it matters, and these deliver. I got them on sale for £70 and for that price, bargain, they retail for £100 usually and at that price, I'd say they are well priced. If you see them on sale and are considering it, just get them, they're by far the best on ear headphones available and wont break the bank.

Great sound while keeping you immersed in the world
Fantastic product. Great value and great sound on its own merits, let alone considering that it's not blocking outside sounds (ultimately, if you are looking for perfect sound the only option is conventional in-ear or even noise-cancelling earphones, but you wouldn't be buying open earphones if you wanted that). It's great to have that sound overlayed on real-life too. Perfect for those of us that want to take calls at work, while walking, etc, without the awkward delay while you fumble with your earphones to get them in first -- you just keep one or both of them in your ears at all times since they don't stop you having IRL conversations and they're so comfortable I forgot they were there. Also good for listening safely while running or even cycling (I still only had one in for the latter though I could easily have had both -- unless you are really blasting music you can still hear everything around you and my use of them was just for navigation instructions). Battery life seems great too, and the case charges them when not in use. Ultimately my only quibble with these is that I live in London on a tube line where much of the journey to work is at 110db -- more than enough to cause hearing loss, let alone overpower whatever you are listening to on open headphones. To spare my hearing I had to revert to noise-cancelling earphones, but for anyone whose hearing is not being destroyed every day by London's tube trains or who is able to spend the money to have two pairs, you should get these.

Not loud enough
Excellent build quality, very comfy, but unfortunately, I had to return them as they just weren’t loud enough. Sound quality was superb but just sounded like they needed knocking up or notch or 2

Great for an audiobook around the house usecase
My usecase is primarily audiobooks, mostly around the house. The comfort is very good, you can almost forget you're wearing them. The battery life is very good, and the case lasts ages between recharges. The controls are easily adapted for audiobooks (Eg setting rewind as a double-tap) and I've found them to be relatively intuitive. Audio quality has been perfectly good for audio books. When I occasionally listen to music, the sound quality isn't up to the same standard as similarly price in-ear headphones, but it's still perfectly enjoyable. The only time they suffer a bit is when cycling, they suffer much more with wind noise than in-ear headphones, perfectly fine with music, a little difficult with audiobooks. Software on android seems pretty decent, basics like reconfiguration and checking battery status are achieved easily.

They good and look nice.
The sound quality is great, they are incredibly easy to set up and use with or without the app. The battery lasts quite a long time if your not blasting your tunes at full volume. They are comfortable but be ready to kinda stretch the ear hook if you have larger ears. I've dropp them a few times and haven't broken anything so I call that a win.

Comfortable
I bought these earbuds due to having sensitive ear canals and headphones being too warm and sweaty during workout sessions. They are perfect for my use case👌 + Very comfortable and light + Great sound quality + Easy controls by pinching + Sturdy case with magnet + Intuitive app +- No isolation against background noise. - A bit of sound leakage with high volume They are so good that I bought a second pair as a gift.

Design, function, comfort - if you like to be aware of your surroundings try open!
+ comfortable, sounds great, beautiful design and app, dual connect device works well - microphone quality is showing age compared to other in price range, still works fine just not top tier
