Great product
The ACMER S1 Laser Engraver 3500mW is a great machine for beginners and hobby users. It is easy to set up and does not take much time to start using. The frame feels solid, and the design is compact, so it fits well on a small workspace. The 3500mW laser power works well for engraving on wood, leather, cardboard, bamboo, and some plastics. The engraving results are clean and detailed, especially for logos, text, and simple images. It can also cut thin wood and paper with multiple passes. This engraver is compatible with common software, making it simple to control and customize designs. Safety features like protective covers and emergency stop options add extra confidence, especially for new users.

Very cool Lassr Machine!
The ACMER S1 Laser Engraver has been a fantastic addition to my workshop. Despite its compact size, the 3500mW laser delivers impressive power and stunning 0.04mm detail, allowing me to cleanly cut wood and acrylic and create beautifully crisp engravings on metal, wood, and leather. Its user-friendly setup and intuitive software meant I was creating professional-looking personalized gifts, custom business logos, and intricate DIY crafts within the first hour of use. For any maker or small business, this machine is an outstanding value. The robust build quality, precise work area, and included features like air assist make it a reliable and versatile tool that consistently produces excellent results. It has effortlessly transitioned from a fun hobbyist gadget into a serious piece of equipment for my small-scale production, sparking creativity and expanding what I'm able to offer.

Easy assembly, Seems Solid, Worked perfect out of the box
I have used a CNC machine for wood cutting but this Laser Engraver is a fast setup and fun to use machine. I am using LightBurn software to control the Acmer Engraver because I use a Mac Air computer. Even though it's only a 7000mW Laser cutter it does a great job. The accuracy is very nice, but you need to learn what speed and power setting you need for the material you are engraving. You will need to do test runs to get your technique adjusted or you will probably burn your material. Believe me I got a little impatient and slowed the speed and increased the laser power and ruined my project. It's a fun machine to get started Laser Engraving on. I would Buy Again, I would Recommend.

The info I was looking for!
Being the chronic crafter that I am, I can’t resist dabbling in something new every so often. I’ve been toying with the idea of a laser engraver, and have been hesitant to pull the trigger not knowing if I would do well at it or enjoy it. My kids are young, and we go to a Bajillion birthday parties a year and my go to birthday gift as a water bottle, and I think this will be my go to way to gift it! When I was researching and reading reviews, I couldn’t get a clear picture if you would be able to engrave tumblers with this Laser. Happy to report. It absolutely works for the tumblers. I ended up getting the Acmer M3 rotary, and it works with this machine. I have been using the Acmer Studio software, and so far have been pleased. As someone who’s never touched a laser like this before I confidently was able to quickly understand what I needed, and how to change settings. There’s still a few quirks that I’m trying to figure out, but I’m sure the more I do it the more comfortable I will get! I do wish they had a lifter kit for the legs, I’ve Jerry rigged a situation that’s sufficient for now, but I’m going to explore ways to make it more stable and even. There have been a few questions I’ve seen about needing air assist, I definitely would suggest doing it in a well ventilated room with an air purifier in close proximity. I do think that ours will end up living in the garage when I need to use it as the smell lingers dependent on what you’re doing! One of the things that I need to try and figure out more is acrylic. That’s something else. I’m very interested in doing, but it seems like it’s fairly limited with this type of Laser. For the price, I feel like this is a great deal, and allows me to understand more about lasers!

Compact, powerful, easy to pick up
The ACMER S1 Laser Engraver (6000mW) has been an excellent learning tool for our family. It’s a great way to get started with laser engraving without a large or complicated setup. My teen picked it up quickly, especially with prior 3D printing experience. The workflow felt familiar, and he was able to start engraving confidently in a short time. The machine is compact, portable, and accurate, producing clean and consistent results on wood. Overall, it offers a nice balance of ease of use and performance. I’d highly recommend it for beginners, students, or anyone looking to learn laser engraving.

Issues for Mac users but great machine
There are numerous issues for Mac users, but it is a great machine. (using the 6-watt version) 1. The first thing Mac users need to know is that the software required to run this is NOT free. The open-source software is not available for Mac. So that's an extra $99 for LightBurn or whatever software you can find to work. LightBurn has been excellent, though. 2. The USB-C connection was insanely hard to get working. I almost gave up and returned this until I found a video of someone explaining issues with laser cutters and Macs, and after multiple USB-C cables and "dumb hubs," it turned out that my expensive UGREEN hub and a particular cable worked. So Mac users just need to know this all up front. Aside from that, I am very impressed with this machine. If it weren't for the extra money and time it took to get started using it, I would have given it 5 stars. And to be clear, I was going to return it, but it's so good I can't give it less than 4 stars despite all the trouble and extra costs. Once you learn how to use the settings and get it set up, it's just fantastic. Engraving aluminum cards and wood looks exceptional once the settings are correct. And I cannot explain how precise the cutting is on cardstock (like the 0.5mm included sample). I got a honeycomb metal laser bed to put underneath it, and I am really stunned. There are lots of limits to it from size to how powerful it is, but considering what I paid for it, I really couldn't be happier. I am already planning multi-layered light boxes, and no gift packages will get gift tags that aren't custom cut-outs again. I am almost glad I didn't realize it would cost extra to get software because if I had added that into the price, I might not have taken a chance on this. It's just insanely cool.

beware of support if needed
I really like the hardware and how well it works when all the "bugs" are worked out. Out of the box' it operated poorly and crashed frequently. I use acmer studio because it's easier to use than others for beginners. Instructions for software is available online. supplied user manual is good for assembly but missing a lot for their own software. You must have the driver installed that they tell you about but NOT the updates needed like firmware .bin file for the hardware and the new version acmer studio software. Spent days with many hours of frustration and aggravation just to find out it wasn't my fault or user operation, by way of slow tech support, who informed me of the software update, but not the firmware update. I found that on my own buried on their site. Not really apologetic and had to ask twice for a response update. The device finally works well. Irony is, every day and several times a day, I get slammed with their email advertising to buy more....This is why it gets a three star rating instead of five.

Easy and fun for small family hobbies!
The ACMER S1 is a wonderful little machine that has brought so much joy to our home projects. I wanted something simple for my kids to try, and this engraver is just right because it isn't huge or intimidating. We’ve spent hours making personalized name tags and little wooden animals; the 0.04mm detail is so sharp that even tiny eyes and whiskers come out perfectly! The 130 \times 130mm space is plenty for their small treasures, and it fits neatly on our craft table without making a mess. It’s been such a proud moment for the kids to hold something they designed themselves. For any family wanting to get creative together, this machine is a friendly and reliable way to start making memories.

Pequeña
Me gustó bastante. Su software es sencillo de usar. El único detalle es que el área de trabajo es pequeña de 13cm * 13cm

Great value.
Very good for what you pay if you're looking for a start, for what its capable of I am very impressed on how affordable it is. Set up only took a slight skim through the manual and a 10 min youtube video.

So far so good
Our entrepreneurial minded 12-year-old son had this set up and working before we got home from work. He’s pretty happy with it so far the designs are turning out well and he said it was easy to install on his laptop, but he is pretty techy. He practised on plywood and is now engraving ironwood coasters.

Extremely impressed
This engraver I tell you far exceeded my expectations. For the cost of it, it paid for itself. We used it to burn wood coasters for our wedding and they turned out very well. There is definitly a learning curve with the settings, laser power, and centering of the engraver but once you get past it it is quite fun. I am still learning on how to make it cut quicker and as effectively but its just trial and error, so, have some test pieces handy.
