They feel like a real tire is underneath you
I used Maxis always until I tried these. The maxis spin and slide on the same climbs that the continental grab and stick. Make sure you buy the ones made in Germany and not the similar brand made in China.

Happy so far
I really like the continental tires on my road bike so I was hoping the mountain bike tires would be good. So far, it has not disappointed.

2.6 Trail King bigger than some tires marked 2.8
I bought the trail King in 27.5x2.6 because it's my rear tire of choice. Compared to a 2.8 Rekon (closer to 2.63), it's wider, measuring 2.7" on a 41mm rim, which is too big.Do follow the recommendation of max rim width of 35mm, because my sidewalls are 1-2mm wider than the tread on each side. I've gotten a LOT of rock scuffs on the sidewalls, and most have done no damage. I did get one 1" cut on the sidewall and Stan's sealed it fine. I took it off a month ago, because I was losing air and wanted to rebuild my wheel. Turns out the sidewall cut was sealed fine and it was my tape job.I've been using trail kings as my rear tire of choice since 2012 and these 2012 provided me the traction in Rocky/loose and flotation over sand as I expected. For the sub-$60 price tag they're at currently, they're a great buy over the maxxis exo sidewall, whereas to get this level of protection in maxxis, You need the double downs.

2.4 29er Trail King
Installed on rear of a 2021 Trek Fuel Ex.The tire was hard (Too hard) to install on the stock Bontarager carbon wheel. Very tight..I almost gave up but I was desperate to ride ...I needed my fix. It works okay for the rear but wouldn't want it on the front . Loose over hard pack you can feel the tire slipping going into corners before the side knobs bite. It will probably be a little better when the ground softens up this winter.. Durability...maybe 100 or so miles on it no noticible wear, knobs holding up, not the case with the stock Bontarager XR4..grip was good but it's just to soft.
