Tastes very delicious.

This item arrived brown and did not look like the ad on Amazon at all. The smell was not what I expected and it tasted suspect so I unfortunately felt is safer to dispose of it. Since that time, I did purchase a full Iberico ham from Amazon and cut it myself. The color, smell, and taste of the dry aged and freshly cut Iberico ham was completely different. It was a beautiful ruby red, fragrant, and when covered with plastic wrap and left to warm up to about 74oF, was easy to consume.I have a suspicion that this and other food companies may be taking advantage of Amazon as a clearing house for items of questionable quality because they are non-returnable. The Amazon sellers can't be held responsible for how products are handled inside the warehouses since they are huge and there are so many employees. They might however want to develop a special handling, cooling, and packaging requirements for food products even if that packaging ultimately falls to the sellers. I buy so many items from Amazon daily and greatly appreciate their service and pricing. I have ever only had issues with a few food items. Other than that, I'm a huge Amazon fan!

a bit pricey but it is good quality Bellota Ham

I liked this ham; it was perhaps a bit strong for my palate, but it works well paired with fruit, wine, and a piece of bread.

I was quite disappointed with the Iberico de Bellota Ham! We recently returned from a week in Spain and while there enjoyed fresh 100% acorn-fed ham from the various food markets. So I was looking forward to trying same here in the US. This product is like night and day compared to the real McCoy! Don't waste your money! The ham feels and looks like its past its shelf life - it is dry and brittle with a lot of congealed fat in the package. I suspect, as a product of Spain, it is cut and package in Spain and shipped to the US - not good. I think I will find a food purveyor that imports the ham leg and cuts and packages it locally. Lesson learned!
