Brilliant Pods

Come back Illy, I forgive you
A lot of people seem to like these, so I mustn't diss them altogether. But I'm not impressed. They taste muddy, overcooked, with no body or depth or breadth, no aroma, and are very disagreeable. I thought they would be an economical alternative to Illy Classico, but there's absolutely no comparison. I've ordered a resupply of Illy and am looking forward to a decent cortado again tomorrow morning. I can't believe they are an accurate representation of Neapolitan culture. I ordered a box each of the Black, Red, and Gold and they're all pretty foul. I may keep them for unsuspecting visitors or maybe try blending them with Illy but honestly, they're probably heading for the bin.
