Unplug from your Smartphone!!
This phone is now my daily use phone. It replaced my Samsung Galaxy S24. I only had eSim in my S24 though T-Mobile, so I went into the store to get a physical Sim card, which they installed for me. I turned on the phone and made a call and it worked perfectly, loud and clear! I forgot how much I had missed the shape of flip phones while I am on a call. They just make sense ergonomically. The phone itself is great. Startup is cute, it says "Hi Barbie" at the loadup screen. It's pretty customizable. I set up my speed dial contacts, set up a quick call contact (my husband) for the action button below the volume bar, and I ordered an SD card to add music. On KaiOS, there is an app store. PodLP is available to listen to podcasts. I subscribed to a few of my favorites already. Then you can access FM radio via wired headphones, which will be good for the gym if I get bored of my own music. The grip is good in the hands. Of course, it will take getting used to, since we are all predisposed to heavy rectangles. This is lightweight and beautiful. It did slip out of my hands at one point when I was being careless, and (just like in the old Nokia days) the back fell off and battery fell out. The thing is, I prefer that to a massive glass shatter on a 1200 dollar phone. It comes with 3 cases for the back. The cases feel slippery and plasticky, but durable. I feel that the phone is well protected. The battery lasts all day no problem, even though I have been tinkering around on it downloading apps and playing games (new phones always get a lot of attention in their first few weeks am I right?) but it holds up! I could see it easily lasting closer to 3 or 4 days if I don't do all that. I will very likely come and update this review after a month or so of use. I put some stickers on the mirror side of the phone. I made sure that they didn't block the time and notification display. I also added the little beaded strap and swirly back case. It's definitely eye-catching! You know, it's interesting enough to see someone unironically using a flip phone these days, so one this adorable is bound to get comments. My husband called while I was checking out at Trader Joe's and the cashier said "IS THAT A FLIP PHONE?!" She was so excited to see it and when I told her it was actually Barbie themed she was very interested. So many questions like "How do you not have a smart phone, isn't it so hard?" etc. I did grow up in the 80's and 90's so it wasn't a difficult adjustment since I already know how to type, navigate, and speed dial on these phones. But it is freeing to go to the park with my daughter and really experience the moments. Not get a notification for TikTok or YT or a facebook comment and feel that urge to check it. Once you check that notification, you're bound to check something else, and so on and so on... until all your kid knows is you've got your face stuck to your phone again while she plays alone. Not anymore. Come on, Barbie. Let's go party! Lets get back to a basic phone with perks like Google Maps and Podcasts, and say no to constant social media and content connection. We aren't built for that! Side note, I also got a cute little screen free camera (won't say the brand here but it's to SNAP photos at CAMP let's just say.) Between the screen free camera and the flip phone I am LOVING life. And actually living it.

So adorable!!!!!!
It is adorable and it works great with my iPhone 13 from mobile. The sim goes right in and it sends and receives calls that sound clear. It has a nice size and fits in my hand perfectly. It is a great value at just $100 for a cute phone that is both novel and durable. The case seems like it will keep the phone safe and it will last for a while. The compatibility with tmobile was a huge plus for me. I am glad I went ahead and bought it for myself. My iPhone was broken way beyond repair and I really was tired of spending too much time on my phone/online. This is a perfect way to go ghost on everyone because it is not that convientent to fire off a bunch of texts. As someone who overshares, this is ideal for me lol. The grip is good and I have not dropped it...yet* so I can not speak to the durability per se, I can just say it seems to be built well.

Four month review - My bad smartphone habits are gone and I'm happy
I wasn't happy with my smartphone habits and I tried it all- grayscale, limiting apps, deleting apps, screen time. I just couldn't get myself to a place where I felt happy with my relationship with technology. So, I went nuclear- a dumb phone. The options on the market right now are boring black jitterbug phones, expensive hipster phones, and... Barbie. I was watching an unboxing and I saw that *the battery is also pink* and I found that so funny and ridiculous I took the plunge on this phone. I thought that if they had that level of attention to detail, then I would probably have fun at the very least. It took about two months of consistent barbie phone use and after that I felt that the worst of my smartphone bad habits had lost their pull. Now I carry my flip phone as my everyday carry just because I like it. I still have and use my iPhone when needed, especially when I'm traveling someplace new and I want full maps support. Switching back and forth between my Barbie phone and my iPhone is easy peasy with a physical SIM card, it takes less than a minute and it's never been glitchy for either device. I love using this phone, and I have no complaints. It's exactly what I signed up for and it works well. The worst part of using a flip phone is the lack of iPhone iMessage support- I'm fully integrated into the Mac ecosystem so I did miss texting on my computer seamlessly (and I'm a "green message" to other iPhone users, ewww). It's not a dealbreaker and in no way is it a slight against this phone. If you're also trying to break tech habits, and you're concerned that this device still connects to the internet, I don't think you need to really worry about that. Watching Youtube on this thing is not very fun, you can't search quickly, you can't scroll with a swipe. It slows you down so much that it's not worth using unless it's important. For the rest of my low-tech carry, I have an iPod mini with Rockbox that I load up with podcasts every couple weeks (on Mac, use the app Mimir to RSS your podcasts, it saves the files in human readable text so then you can just drag and drop to the iPod- fast and easy), I have a digital camera that I take with me if I think I'll want to take pics, a paper planner, I carry a book and/or an eReader. I read 9 books the first month off my smartphone. I also have a smartphone for work, this is where my work apps and master digital calendar lives. I hope this helps. I actually have the Nokia that it's based off of and I think the UI for the Barbie phone is slightly better. Battery is fine, lasts several days. I like that I can wifi hotspot in a pinch.

Real review by the princess
YALL Iโm a real review! Promise! Iโll tell you what I think frl about this phone. Iโve been using this pretty girl for about 2 months now I use it as my real telephone it has full internet access and I transferred my telephone number to it (Im AT&T) it was a process to get the number switched and even while getting it switched I was told multiple times by employees that it wasnโt possible LIES I was otp with AT&T for over an hour and when we finished I had a fully functional phone it does everything promised Iโve felt a weight lifted off my brain no more constant notifications just notifications about things that matter the phone has a internet browser so ig/pinterest/youtube are all able to be used (itโs obviously not as practical) BUT ITS STILL THERE I think this idea is truly beautiful I feel more intuned to my life being more present it also showed me how many people are constantly on their phone u honestly canโt go back after experiencing the feeling. The feeling of wanting to do something productive and meaningful. I 100% would recommend this for all kids/adults/oldies

โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโ 4โStar Review โ Cute, Fun, and Nostalgic
I bought the HMD Barbie Phone mostly for funโand it absolutely delivers! Itโs cute, quirky, and does the basics well enough. The โHi, Barbie!โ startup greeting always brings a smile. The pink mirror finish feels magical, and the included charms, lanyard, stickers, and extra backplates make the unboxing feel like opening a jewelry box . ** What I Love:** Stylish design & charming extras: Barbie-themed packaging, glittery stickers, and a mirror-front finishโtotally Instagram-worthy . Solid for everyday basics: Simple calling and texting work great. Audio is clear, and the interface feels intuitive enough for what it is . Long battery life & USBโC: Battery lasts several days if you're not browsing often. And yes, the charging cable is pinkโadorable detail . ** Things to Be Aware Of:** Camera โ smartphone quality: The camera is very low resolutionโmore for novelty than real use. Selfies are best taken with the timer using the mirror lid . Typing is old-school T9: Texting takes patienceโentering passwords or long messages via the numeric keypad can be tedious . Usability quirks: The browser and calendar can be glitchy and slow. Plus, the mirror cover smudges easily if youโre not careful . Camera and display are basic: Expect a simple, low-res screen and performance that aligns with a nostalgic feature phone, not a modern device . (DoNot work with boost mobile) (YESS straight talk, Verizon T-Mobile)

Switching to this phone was a great choice for me!
I have had this as my daily phone for 5 months now and I plan to never go back to smart phones if possible. I will say it's worked out since I have a laptop for the other necessities such as banking but this phone is amazing. The maps on it work much better than I thought it would. You have to follow step by step which can be tricky sometimes but it shows where you currently are which is what was really important to me. The only thing that has been difficult is not having uber or Lyft when I'm out of town so I have my friends plan for those. Aside from that it has been totally worth switching over! It could be hard to text for people who didn't grow up with that form of texting but since I had a Chocolate phone back in the day it was pretty similar to that.

Iconic
Literally everyone will think youโre the coolest person when you pull this out. Itโs a bit cheap looking like itโs a toy, but itโs still super cute. You can bedazzle it, hang up dramatically, and itโs the perfect fit for your hand. Itโs super user friendly and even has tips to limit smart phone usage

A perfect phone for men in a pink world and with a pink corvette
The call audio is decent the camera is surprisingly decent, i dropped it a few times and the mirror didnโt crack, no Bluetooth however that means you can use wired earbuds for it! Obviously texting is slower than a smartphone speaking of texting you can use some emojis on this and even see gifs and videos, although you canโt send kaomojis like a previous HMD phone i owned. The text pad is okay apart from the lower middle one, the U and V in this font makes it look like a W and that always confuses me. The phone doesnโt include anything to cover the mirror so if blinding randos on the street is your game then have at it. Theres no support for the OS anymore and recently gmail and outlook have stopped working on it as well. There is a app store but i basically only use one third party app called librivox and rarely anything else. The storage space is 1gb but you can insert a sd up to 32 gbs. You can use the browser app to watch videos but that drains the battery quicker also you canโt download anything from the web app. Theres also a radio if that pleases you and some preinstalled games like snake. Overall itโs a decent phone and so long as you donโt watch too much YouTube the battery can last a while
