Miniature Painting Kit with Wet Palette, Detail Paint Brush Drybrush

I got this Nicpro miniature painting set to help my son get started with painting Warhammer models and it’s been a good buy. The brushes are surprisingly nice for the price and the variety of sizes makes it easy to do both fine details and drybrushing. The wet palette is a cool addition and keeps the paint usable way longer than I expected. Only thing I didn’t love was the sponge in the palette—it started to smell a bit funky after a few days and needed replacing. Not a huge deal but worth mentioning. Overall it’s a great kit for beginners or casual painters. We’ve already used it for a bunch of models and it’s holding up well. Definitely better than grabbing random brushes at the craft store.

Fantastic, the wet pallet works perfectly, the model holder is fantastic with a built in magnet at the bottom of the holder to easily set down on the little magnet pads. It has 4 caps for the Model holder allowing for easy changing of which model your working on. The sticky tack is by far the best sticky tack i've ever had the pleasure of using. The brushes are your generic Chinese brushes just with Nicpro logo.

I started painting minis a few months ago after playing virtual dnd with a group of friends. I don’t use the minis for games, but find the painting really entertaining. I do not have any artistic background, no experience with painting in any medium, but I’m generally creative and like crafts for reference. This kit is a good starter kit and beats the paper plates and grocery store paint brushes I was already using- but there is room for improvement considering the price. 1. There are a handful of brushes in the set, but ideally I really only used 3. Mainly, the zero size was fine for humanoid sized figures. I used the 3/0 for some finer detail but could have probably used the zero as well. I also used the size 7 for dry brush base color to help fill in shadow/ small cracks I wouldn’t be able to easily reach later. 2. The dry brushes shed like crazy despite gentle use. There were hairs on each character. 3. There was a very fine line between making the sponge/paper wet enough to keep the paper from curling and making it too wet and the paint separating. I use basic craft acrylic paint so maybe nicer mini paint wouldn’t have this issue. 4. My paint dried out despite use of this set, which is the main reason I purchased it. I wanted to be able to mix all my colors as I wanted them, and then come back and use them the next day once the first layer of color was dried. I unfortunately didn’t even end one painting session before most of them dried up. 5. Speaking of drying- this is very hard to clean once the paint is even halfway dried in the pans. It sticks to the plastic and there isn’t a great way to get into the crevices of each pan. With brighter colors, even once cleaned, the white tray was stained. I think this is to be expected, but fyi I wouldn’t mix paint on any surface that is outward facing. I was using a rag with warm water and dish soap as recommended in the instructions, but there may be a cleaner better suited for paint. 6. Being able to store the paintbrushes inside the kit is really nice and helps them stay protected. The tray they come in is cheap plastic and feels disposable, but I’m keeping it so that they aren’t just loose inside. Higher quality plastic here would’ve been really nice. 7. There were a lot of typos, formatting issues, and probably translation errors in the included instructions. This obviously doesn’t impact the product directly, but does give the overall feel of a cheaper item. Overall, this kit is nice but has its flaws. This feels like it is overpriced compared to the features and quality. It isn’t worth returning for me, but if I was to do it again I would likely order just a kit that sealed the paint and had the rewetting sponge, but save the rest of my money for higher quality paintbrush singles from an art store and a painting handle.

Great product. Comes with everything shown and is well packaged. Had no problems with use, and it kept my paints fresh through my miniature paint sessions. The palette itself is a good size and is durable. Large enough for multiple paints, but not so big that it isn't easily portable. Great for beginner and advanced painters as well. The brushes are on the cheap end, but I had no problem using them.

Are there better brushes yes, however if you need a place to start look no further. The wet palettes work great the brushes are good for beginners and you can set up your handle to be magnetic. So if you have your first army wanting for paint buy this thing. Photo is of what I was able to do with this set.

Great starter kit with two of each basic starter brushes. Compact and keeps everything in one place. Travels well. Easy directions, Simple set up. Plastics are not flimsy and will last a long time.

Sturdy, works well. Brushes are decent for the price, and you get a lot of different sizes. Good first miniature painting set.

Brushes are fine, but cheap synthetic as expected. Handle is actually very good and is the only part id truly recommend. The wet pallete is unusable at least in my case. The paper is nearly impossible to get to stick to the sponge and once it does the edges curl terribly and makes the paint too runny. For the same price just get a redgrass games wet pallet and cheap brush set

Fantastic quality, about the size of a piece of A5, comes with good quality brushes which slot in to the back panel so keeps it all neat and together. Small enough carry around. Nice aquamarine blue colour. Worth the cost as the wet pallets stays wet for way longer than others we've tried. Perfect for model painting and acrylics in general. Very handy pallet.

I use this every time i paint my miniatures. It comes with 3 sponges a dry pallet and a pack of wet pallet paper plus brushes. The pallet feels high quality and i have not had any issues with it what so ever. The size is plenty for painting and it keeps the paint wet for up to a day if you close the lid. The brushes are no sable brushes but they are a good universal set of brushes and if you have better brushes these are perfect for things such as base coating, oil washes, dry brushing and basing
