Faber Castell Castell-9000 Series Graphite Pencil (Grade F)

I've found it. The best pencil I have ever used for everyday writing. I'd heard it from others and they were so right. It is very understated and so well engineered. I have mostly been a Staedtler user, but this Faber Castell exceeds even that great mark. All hail the 9000!

Brilliant pencil for sketching, especially prior to painting in watercolour as lines are faint enough to easily colour. Bought one before but I lost it so just had to get another.

Let's face it, you're unlikely to find a better pencil anywhere. They don't even break when you drop them (indoors). They're a pleasure to draw with and while they're priced at more than a student might want to pay, they are well worth the price when you're ready to upgrade. With a good range of hardness available, they are versatile tools for both artists and architects. The softer grades blend well. I also love the fact that I can buy individual pencils in my most used grades, though a set works out better value if you're upgrading from another brand.

A nice pencil, writes smoothly, nice and dark, shades evenly, sharpens well, seems robust. My only (tiny) gripe is that it feels a little light in the hand. I prefer a slightly more solid pencil.

Theses pencils are quite expensive but worth it! They are highly pigmented, soft and easy to blend! I love it!
