Eufy Doorbell “at rest” and “activated,” angle mount; Awful Battery Life
TL;DR ... this doorbell is power flexible, uses AI effectively, has an attractive build/design, is easy to set up, and uses two good-quality cameras (in day or night). More useful details... Out of the box, this Eufy Doorbell can be installed to use its built-in battery or can be wired directly to your home. Nice. Installation, mounting, and app set up were all straightforward; took about 10 minutes. The hardest part was deciding where, and how high, to place the doorbell! (Eufy does suggest placement but YMMV.) The box came with everything you need, including a template decal that made placing and drilling a breeze; nice touch. The app is a bit clunky (dated?) but works well. Notifications to my phone have been instant. The doorbell itself has a built-in speaker; the doorbell "ding" is very loud and clear. (Another nice feature is that I will hear the doorbell ding in my AirPods if I'm wearing them.) The doorbell has two cameras, so I clearly see both the surrounding area AND the entire floor around my porch. I really like this feature. Visibility at night is good too. Setting detection zones is not intuitive but not hard to figure out. The doorbell can see VERY far in clear sunlight. Before setting up a zone, the camera flagged me at around 45 feet away. AI recognition is eerily accurate (a good thing) ... doorbell can identify animals, people, and packages. It will let you know if someone arrives, puts down a package, or picks up a package. So far, it has not misidentified anything. I haven't set up facial recognition yet; this will let the doorbell know if the person at the door is known/unknown. (Sounds like fun.) Battery: shows 4 out of 5 bars after 2 1/2 weeks of use; unfortunately, there is no percentage. (DO BETTER Eufy.) After 30 days of use (exactly), got a message from the app that the doorbell shut down due to low battery. BATTERY ONLY LAST 30 DAYS! Settings were left at default. :-( Doorbell works with the original Eufy HomeBase and HomeBase 2. The doorbell also works with Alexa and Google Assistant. I haven't use these features so don't know how well they work, or if a hub is required. No HomeKit support at this time (Again, DO BETTER Eufy!) btw ... you can always set up Homebridge or Hoobs to connect this Eufy doorbell to Apple's HomeKit; requires a bit more technical expertise.

Great for the money
Good doorbell camera for a reasonable price. The extra battery is convenient and the battery life is good too (lasts about 10 days, though I suspect climate and usage could factor into this). Easy to install and connect to home Wi-Fi with the app. No subscriptions required but are available if needed.

Would recommend
The dual cameras work great and I love that I don’t have to pay for a subscription or sacrifice privacy to use it. Also like that it comes with a second battery so if needed I can swap the battery out without any downtime. I have the wired version connected to my existing doorbell wires/chime and the battery is draining faster than it can recharge but I think that has more to do with my wiring than the doorbell. After about a week of use it is at 89% so it should still last a good while until I have to swap in the before mentioned second battery. Overall highly satisfied with my purchase.

Good camera, decent software
I have multiple of these doorbells and the camera and doorbell function are great. Paired with the homebase 3 I get clear recordings, lots of customization, good controls for battery life and the option to hard wire them. This item itself is great. The Eufy software can be hit or miss though. Have had to remove and rejoin my cameras multiple times now due to bad firmware updates. Get a lot of false positives you have to tune out or turn of features to stop. When it works, it works great, but expect to deal with some bugs.

Excellent Security Video Doorbell But Not Alexa Compatible
Eufy security cameras, including doorbells, are quite a step up from Ring. All features on Eufy cameras are fully accessible, without any fees and videos are stored locally. No privacy invasion. Storage can be upgraded, can be installed on the device itself or the homebase, videos stored can be shared if desired and are encrypted. The option to store in the cloud and for professional monitoring are available. I keep Eufy running in the background on my phone and notifications are instantaneous. With Ring, if anything was detected, it was gone, before I would get a notification. Only very basic features are available without fees with Ring and one is basically forced into paying for professional monitoring in order to get all the features. With Ring, I didn't install indoor cameras. The Eufy cameras far exceed Ring in features available and clarity/tracking of the camera events. Ring cameras would notify of squirrels, cats and flying plastic bags/leaves. Eufy has options for what one is wanting to detect. I have mine set for vehicles and humans. Not once have I received a notification or alarm for squirrels, cats or flying plastic bags/leaves. I have many of all around here. I am able with Eufy to have the cameras alarm, outside at the unit with sound and lights as well as a very audible alarm inside, when set to alarm mode. It works, as it did alarm one evening with good cause. Didn't have that with Ring nor would I have been confident with Ring only picking up a vehicle or human. Of course, you can manually set off the Eufy alarm also. The Eufy doorbell has not missed one person at the door, a package being dropped off or me picking the package up. With Ring, it was hit and miss with mostly miss. Another Eufy feature I very much like, is the option to tailor alarm modes, Home/Away/Off/Disarmed/Customized, down to each specific device/sensor. I am very impressed and satisfied with all the Eufy products I have purchased. It is advertised as being compatible with Alexa, but I disagree. The problem is not Eufy, but Alexa. I enabled the Eufy Security skill, but the echo devices would not announce Eufy notifications. It was a constant enable/disable/ re-enable/reboot to finally get an announcement. It was short lived and right back to enable/disable, etc. Seems to be a problem for many I noticed as I was troubleshooting on the internet. Very recently I received a notice from Alexa stating it had disabled the Eufy skill and directed me to re-enable. I wasn't able to do that as I would not grant Alexa permission to control my cameras. That's what that cab is all about. If I had a smart light bulb, it wouldn't be an issue. I bought the cameras for the privacy of local storage, and now Alexa wants to control those cameras, which means it has access to them. NO. They were advertised as Alexa compatible so the echo devices should be able to make Eufy announcements without the need for Alexa to have access to the cameras themselves. I don't want the echo devices to show me the view of the cameras, just make the Eufy announcements. It wouldn't even do that before, and now Alexa wants more permissions, to do what?? Alexa has gotten as bad as Ring. Putting those two aside, Eufy is an excellent security system on its own, all the way around. As for Alexa and its skills, no more Alexa compatible devices.

if it works its great
I think it's great product. I wanted one that had local storage to avoid paying subscription. The sub option is only in case you want to save in the cloud to access remotely. I have some connection issues but I think that's my personal problem because it's my door is a bit far from the router, so I don't think it's fair to give a bad rating because that's my case. I will look for a repeater or relocate the wifi router to cover mñbetter signal to the entrance. Overall I think it's great, it's super great that it comes with two batteries and even cables in case you want to wire. I'm using the batteries and I constantly check the battery % and its very good, it takes on avarsge 5% a day. Basically is not recording at all times, but when it detects movement it saves a clip of 20-30secs (customizable). So depending on the usage it's how fast it depletes. Overall is good and I plan on buying more eufy products for other security purposes -update. changing my review from 5 to 1. This doorbell camera, just stopped working, for no reason, out of nowhere, I did absolutely nothing. It started slowly, I noticed it was not capturing movement, but it was streaming correctly all OK I had a few days where it had "no events", I thought "well maybe there's just not movement at all", then one day randomly it says "offline", I thought someone mightve stolen it, when I brought it inside it was just not being detected by the app, it was offline, though the button of the ring kept working, and it made sounds as if it was still working but it was just not being detected. I tried everything, rebooting, replacing the battery, re-install everything, rebooting to factory setting but no, it stopped detecting my wifi, I couldnt sync to any wifi anymore, so I just returned while I was still within my 30 day purchase, (I had it for 3 weeks max). So, I do believe this thing is an OK product... when it works. But Not sure if I would trust to purchase this again.

Worth the Purchase
The quality of the picture from both cameras is great! With the wide angle field of view we can now see the packages that are left at the door, even if they are placed on the sides. The facial recognition is a cool feature that is easy to use with the Eufy app. Mounting the doorbell to use the existing wires was easy and made it so I don't have to worry about battery life. If you already have the Eufy app for another product then it is easy to connect this device to it. Just need a 2.4GHz network and you are good. I would recommend getting the Eufy storage to help with always having the video files.

Clear Video, Smart Package Detection, and No Subscription Needed
This doorbell camera exceeded our expectations. The video quality is sharp, audio is clear for two-way communication, and notifications arrive quickly and reliably. The app is easy to use, making setup and daily use simple. One of our favourite features is the package detection. It not only alerts us specifically when a delivery arrives but also when the package is picked up. Right now that’s just us retrieving it, but it’s reassuring to know it would also notify us if someone else tried to take it. We followed the directions to connect the unit to our home’s hard wiring, hoping it would ring inside as well as the app. While our indoor chime rang when tested with the bare wires, it stopped once connected to the eufy (still need to troubleshoot this). The upside is that the hard wire eliminates the need to recharge the battery. EDIT TO ADD: the indoor chime needs to be turned on in settings! Works now! Another big plus is that we’re using the free version of the app and haven’t felt the need for a paid subscription at all. For quality, features, and value without monthly fees, this doorbell is an excellent choice.

Decent Camera for the cost
Decent doorbell camera. Depends what you’re really looking for. I’ll give a few pros and cons - Pros : 1. Excellent response time to visitors, our previous camera only gave us clips of people walking away. You can clearly see the person walking up to the camera. 2. Built in 8GB Hard drive is nice, don’t have to worry about SD cards. 3. The extra battery pack being included is a plus, they last about 3-4 weeks so at least you can always have one charged and ready to swap out. Cons: 1. No continuous loop recording, if you want to go back and watch a period of time to see if any events or people were missed, you don’t have this option. 2. Although I added the included battery pack as a pro, they do die very fast, so some would see this as an annoyance and a con. 3. No external way to plug in the battery in place if you just wanted to charge it in its spot, you have to remove the whole camera to then get the battery pack off to charge/replace it. Overall it has great quality of video and an amazing response time. It does have the option to be hardwired (which eliminates all comments about the battery life/issues if you choose this route) so all in all, it is a good option and reasonable priced when you catch it on sale.
