Great for Loud Work Environments
Like many of you, I have went through many & I mean Many, pairs of Bluetooth earbuds. All of them have fallen short of expectations. They didn’t fit well, sound good, or picked up too much background noise. That is until I got my Shokz. I heard about them from a coworker who operates a Road Grader. He claimed that they work great, sound quality is good, calls are clear etc. (we have heard this all before) So, I researched them a bit. The reviews seemed solid,( taken with a grain of salt) I received them in an off hitch. They arrived charged and ready to pair. Pairing was simple, the buttons are simple as well. No double triple clicking etc. the app for setting up is straightforward and easy to follow. Now, for performance: First wear was on a commercial flight. With earplugs in, these performed excellent. Beyond expectation. After I landed I continued to stream my podcast without the earplugs. Nice and clear, while still being aware of my surroundings. At work: I drive off-road trucks. These things are old and loud. Once again, extremely impressed with performance. On calls, there is some background noise but it is manageable. I can “hear” the conversation well. The standby battery life lasts longer than my 12 hour shifts. No discomfort from wearing them at all. Glasses frames fit nicely with them as well. Safety department does not seem to have any issues with them. They are not “earbuds” and do not block out radio traffic or other communication. I am very pleased with this purchase. I’ve had them for two weeks, so have nothing to report on how long they will last in a work environment, but it looks promising. Hopefully this review will help someone make their decision on work Bluetooth devices. Be safe, and take care.

Important Read from an audiophile with the tism
Shokz Open Run Pro2. 179.00 USD Arrived 3pm 100% charge out the box Went to charge and thought it’d be a special magnet charger. Not looking forward to having to buy specific replacements and the charger is type C! Easy connection with a simple connection sound. Not the “pairing” and “connected” ai voice. Open the setting app to Bluetooth , select device, start listening. Good volume and bass for the tech available However the microphone is horrible as far as discord calls and phone calls have gone. These, I have been told, have NO NOISE SUPPRESSION. (You can hear all background sound, wind, airplanes, cars, buses, tires on the road, etc. Very sensitive audio) Audio input sounds like a 2G Motorola phone from 1992. Take that as you will. Easy volume and media 1-2-3 click controls. Left earpiece has a button. One click: play/pause two click: next song three click: previous song long hold: virtual assistant via phone Ex: Siri Comfortable but bulky with glasses. Quick to ear fatigue. I frequently forget I’m wearing them if they aren’t in use Great battery life. I got them at 3. Checked battery at 11 and I was on 70% Open ear safe for factory security( my employer is extremely hard on safety. These unobstructed ears are safe at work!) On safety, they came with reflective tape! Quick charge. Full charge in approximately 30 minutes. Easy to charge on the commute to work. They came with a neck strap. They feel secure enough I don’t feel the need to wear it. I am impartial to it. I’d feel confident wearing these under extreme conditions and they would not budge. Sky diving, bungee jumping, white water rafting(check the swim pros for 32gb of mp3 storage for underwater listening and a WATERPROOF design) One size fits most. There is a size chart on Shokz website and it is true to size. I feel I may have benefited from the minis however I feel it is a minor design flaw not having these be adjustable. I can fit a full hand between my head and the headband. I feel the earpiece itself could afford to be slightly more flexible. It is very stiff contributing to that ear fatigue. Private listening. My partner had to get within 3 inches of my ear to hear anything at 100% So private you can share a pillow. Late night listening at 30% volume on my iPhone 14, was perfect volume to share a pillow with my partner and he couldn’t hear anything. After 50% it was loud enough he could faintly hear it in a quiet room. On separate pillows, 100% volume is detectable in a quiet room by my partner. We turned on a fan and it made it undetectable. However, turning on the fan, did make my listening experience less pleasant due to the open ear. Counter to that however, laying down on my ear did double the volume without decreasing any of the comfort! Not great for back sleepers. The back strap protrudes about half an inch from my head. Laying on my back forces the earpieces to shift from where they need to sit. Side sleeping is 10/10. I can sleep uninterrupted 6 hours. No issues. Makes my alarm private! I sleep in these with them on and idle through the night. Allowing my alarm to only wake me. Not disturbing my partner in the slightest. I have a hypersensitivity to Nickel and other metals in headphones plus a hypersensitivity to latex in rubbers. These have caused NO ADVERSE ALLERGIC REACTIONS. Discreet for most. I keep my head shaved and beard short so they are easy to see on me. My partner has shoulder length hair and an inch long full beard. You can’t see them unless you are hunting for them. Under a toboggan? No way. Hair frames your face? Easy. Unfortunately limited in color selection. This product is a great value for the quality. For a fair review across the board I’m giving this 9.2/10.

Minor hearing loss & Happy with them.
My wife bought me the Openmove for xmas but I was hesitant to open it. After doing some research I took the chance on the OpenRun pro2. I was still hesitant on the bone conduction with the cost and online mixed reviews. I am so glad I got them. I have been using Samsung buds but they fell out, hurt after a bit, and I often had a hard time hearing even with the sound way up as I have some hearing loss. I also have over the ear Beats that I still had volume and comfort issues. The sound for me on the OpenRun pro 2 has been great and I don't have the same sound lose experienced with other options. Using these headphones I don't even notice my hearing lose issues it has been very clear sound. I read a lot of reviews that complained about the bass which I didn't find to be an issue. Would I like a touch more sure but what bass lover doesn't. I am a rock / alternative music listener and not had any quality issues. I did down load the app and use the bass boost sound option. I have had no issues with volume in noisy environments. I am not in the city so I can't speak to that environment but I have been in crowds with no issue at half volume. I ahve been able to have conversations with no issue while music is playing. There has been no vibration from the bone conduction. The longest I have used them at 1 time was about 6 hours straight at half volume and that used about 50% battery. No comfort issues over the 6 hours. You notice them a bit when you first put them on but after a little while I didn't even notice them. I went with the pro2 over the pro because of the USB C cable, I did not want a special charging cable of the pro. and also the bass upgrade on the pro2 I can't speak to the call quality because I have not used them for phone conversations. My only complaints is the size of the metal strap behind the head I find it a little big. Based on the size chart the mini would have been to small for me so I went with the standard. If find looking up that the band hits the back of my neck and is annoying but any other movements is fine. And I wish the cost was a bit less. Would recommend.

Great Bone Conduction headphones in the Sub-$200 range
These are hands down the best pair of bone conduction headphones I've ever owned-- I've tried generics that fell apart, and a mid-range Aftershokz, where the build quality, battery, and sound were okay, but they failed at the volume rocker/power button. Some general perks you get with just about any bone conduction, I bought these because I want to keep situational awareness-- walking around, I want to know if there is someone coming up behind me, be they on a bike, walking, or in a car. Of course, this means on the downside, they don't block out the annoying music or loud conversations you hear on the bus for example. I can also listen to these at work while still responding to phone calls, questions, etc. They're easy to pause and hit play again, merely by tapping on a button on the left headphone area. I also have mismatched ear-canal sizes, and I find that these are vastly more comfortable than even my other favorite headphones, the Powerbeats Pro. This pair may seem pricey, but I find that they are vastly superior-- on top of virtually no noise bleed that you get with conductive headphones at higher volumes, they battery life is amazing. I can literally wear this all day, listening to podcasts and then workouts or whatever. Another huge benefit, one of the weak points in other bone conduction headphones, are the bespoke chargers for them. My last Shokz required buying generic chargers to replace the one they came with-- these take just regular USB-C, and on top of that, they charge amazingly quickly. I'd estimate you can go from low battery to full in about 20 minutes at most. The fit is amazingly secure. I've literally forgotten I was wearing these while doing Krav Maga practice, which includes jumping jacks, summersaults, punching drills. I've even worn them in the shower (for brief periods, it doesn't recommend this, but it's worked-- just make sure you seal the USB-C port with the rubber stopper). Rain doesn't do a thing to them. The signal strength is also very strong for a pair of Bluetooth headphones. I can walk about 30 feet away until the signal starts to degrade, and I've down laundry downstairs with my phone upstairs in my room and I still get a clear signal. So far as call quality-- I will say it's a weak spot with these headphones. You can hear fine, but the microphone will really pic up a lot of background noise, such as wind and background conversations.

Great but the backstrap dings a star
Was looking for a replacement for my Backbeats that I have had for years. Short version, I am keeping these Shokz OpenRun 2s but hoping their product teams reads this and improves on the design for future offerings. However, they are not perfect and can only give them 4 stars with a clear concious. Pros: Great fit and battery life. Easy to pair and useful app. My recommendation is before even opening these headphones, download the app and get it ready. The EQ adjustments took the sound from average to great after enabling the bass boost. It is native USB C which is exactly what I was looking for. Battery life has been excellent. Cons: Took one star off because of the backstrap. It is too rigid and should be made of flexible silicon or similar material so it can be folded into a ball. The backstrap on the OpenRun Pro 2 is rigid and when your head is tilted like riding on a bike off seat or doing chest / shoulder presses, it gets in the way. If it was flexible silicon, it would bend. The other issue with the rigid approach on the OpenRun 2s is that the case that comes with it is much larger than needed because of the rigid backstrap. With respect to sound quality, it is great but only under perfect conditions. My stationary bike is about 7 feet away from my HVAC system. When it comes on, I can definitely hear it. Same with running parallel to a busy road. Did not ding a star because buying an open ear headset, I knew there would be some limitations. Same for running on a treadmill, the background. noise is somewhat overwhelming for me. There are zero safety considerations when I am on a treadmill.

Awesome!!
These have become a part of my everyday life. I live these headphones. Most of the time I don't even realize I have them on if I'm not using them. They are so comfortable. I mostly use them for listening to books and as long as there isn't a huge amount of background sound they are amazing. The sound is pretty good if you aren't looking for a lot of bass, but truthfully the first time I listened to music I thought it was coming out of my phone. The way you can fully focus on everything around you while listening to music or books is phenomenal. It's pretty cool that you can go bone conduction or speaker. I usually use speaker mode. The battery life is also pretty amazing. I have had these go for more than 2 full days with very minimal use, but at almost full volume I have seen them last 6+ hours. I would fully recommend these headphones to anyone that would listen to me. 10 stars if I could.

Comfortable, great sound
I work in a busy section of a hospital and needed something that wouldn’t fall out of my ears AND had good noise cancelling for my callers. I’m thrilled to report that these have WAY out performed my expectations! They’re light, comfortable, don’t cause fatigue where they sit on my ears, my callers report that background noise is negligible, and to top this off the sound quality is fantastic whether it’s a call, listening to music, or an audio book. I love that I can pair 2 devices at once, so I don’t have to switch head sets for meetings on my laptop. There are only two “cons” and I feel they are minor compared to the pros. 1) it’s takes a little bit to get used to the open ear aspect which is one of the reasons I bought them-for that feature. There are times I have to max the volume if I’m in a loud setting. 2) the headband is awkward with hair down, a hood, etc. they’re definitely made for activity so in hindsight I probably would’ve been better off purchasing the Open Fit version for an indoor/office setting. I can’t rest my head against anything either without breaking contact with the earpieces. That said, the Open Run was exactly what I needed and I don’t regret purchasing it at all.

Does not perform as advertised, not even close.
This is hard to do because I love everything about this headset and was amazed and excited once receiving them. The one problems is so huge and was the driving factor as to why I decided to spent 4-6 times the money on such an item. Therefore, since the deciding factor to purchase is what failed, I have to give it a one star. I love the style, the look, the fit, the quality, and that it’s waterproof as I am a hiker/biker and they get drenched. Once you put them on you forget they’re there with no worry of loosing them. They’re comfortable and light weight. No worries of them falling out of your ear and they do not interfere with a bike helmet at all. Thats awesome right? I am a huge fan of Bone conduction headsets and hands down these have the best audio quality I have ever heard with a wide volume range and room to spare. Most headsets, when biking, the volume is drowned out by the wind and other noise rendering the headset useless or a small tree branch hits your helmet as your flying through the woods and you are looking for an earpiece (most likely buying a new set) Not with these, More awesomeness right? Once you own a good bone conduction headset you can’t go back, and this style headset for sports like this are imperative if you have a need for a headset. They sit perfectly and have constant, consistent, crisp audio.. It has an app to make all adjustments and control the headset. It is easy to pair to multiple devices, adjust volume on the go and take calls on the go if that’s your thing. I won’t bore you with all the intricate details. My first hike the battery only lasted about one and a half hours.(this one is a guess as it was the first use and I was not clocking it this time), I recharged and on day two it lasted almost two hours on a bike in the woods… I did all I could to figure out if I was doing something wrong in the app, read the directions again, etc. I charged it again and got about the same run time on days 3, 4 and 5. They advertise as 8 hours on a single charge. There are days I need the 8 hours so anything less for the price is unacceptable as my shortest hike/bike only on a quick day is 2.5 hours. If I put them on when I start to prep (as I like to do) for the hike, drive to pick up a friend, drive to location they die 22 minutes into hike (yes I timed it) because on an average day from prep to finish back at home is 5.5 hours. That’s an average day. There is nothing more frustrating than a battery dying in the middle of anything, ever. You charge 5x the next best thing due to battery life and totally worth it if they lasted that long, I’d even pay more to get many years use. It’s a beautiful, sporty looking, comfortable and amazing headset that I believe is price justified if it lasted 8 hours. I’d rather have had less of anything else than a set that cant make it through a workout. Simply frustrating, actually 5 times as frustrating. I pay for quality, and as most things now a days, few company’s deliver. Disappointing in such an overpriced world anymore. I hope to contact the company and will update the experience or if anything changes. Hope this helps in your decision.

Perfectos
