BE18000 (RS600)
Description: As a previous owner of a Nighthawk R8500 that I ran for years with very few issues, I am quite pleased with this upgraded beast. Funny enough, I had ordered this at the beginning of June and on the 4th, coincidence or not, I received an email that my R8500 has reached its end of service. Timing is everything! I also ordered the Nighthawk Extender (EXS27 / BE5000). I am quite pleased so far with the range and performance I am getting between the two. I have 12 security cameras from end to end on my property (2500 sq. feet) and for the most part everything is pretty solid. Along with the cameras, I have approximately 60 full color spectrum bulbs from both Hue and LIFX. In total, well over a 100 devices throughout the house and everything is working astonishingly well and has been outstanding so far. I have 3 primary devices running on the 6ghz channel on Wi-Fi 7 and the rest are on 2.4 and 5ghz channels. There are a few quirks with the application which I'm not going to go into great detail here, but one of the things that I am having a hard time with is that any of the devices going through the extender show if I open the extender via app or web, but those devices don't show as online if I am looking at the router. There should be a consolidated view of all connected devices regardless of their connection point so that I can identify and rename them all appropriately together in one place. It makes navigation and lookup quite difficult with this number of devices connected. My Extender is setup to use the same names as the SSIDs of the router which makes connecting to either very seamless, but at the same time, a pain, because I have to look in two places to see what connected to the extender and what connected to the router. Outside of those little annoying nuances, I am super ecstatic with the overall functionality and performance of the router and extender. Definitely an improvement in speed compared to my R8500, but that router looked like a stealth bomber with the antennas that could be adjusted. I am still a huge fan of that look. :) Thanks for another solid product Netgear!

Great Router!
I bought the RS600 because my old router was over 10 years old and NETGEAR was ending support on that model. The RS600 was extremely easy to install and setup using their app. My download speeds increased by 5x-10x over Spectrum cable. I highly recommend the RS600!

RS600 Poor WAN/LAN Performance
Returning the Netgear RS600 WiFi 7 router due to poor WAN/LAN performance. Also all 2.4G devices disconnect after being up for 4 days. After upgrading to a regional fiber internet streaming service, my 8 year old Netgear R9000 router was getting ~ 550 Mbps both upload and download speeds. So decided to upgrade the router with a RS600 to support the newer phones, computers, along with the larger coverage area. WiFi coverage is great but the upload and download speeds aren’t. With all the defaults turned on download was in the 200 to 250 Mbps range and uploads were averaging around 20 Mbps (or around 5% of my 8 year old NG router). More importantly devices, especially the TV boxes, were starting to have significant issues. The RS600 default settings resulted in download speed in the 200 to 250 Mbps range and uploads were averaging around 20 Mbps (or around 5% of the old router). More importantly devices, especially the TV boxes, were having issues. Turning off all options except NAT filtering. This included Armor, Protection Engine, and the Port scanning. Performance improved but only to 450 Mbps download and 22 Mbps upload. All tests using Ookla’s Speedtest but also confirmed using other testing sites. New cables were used included Netgear’s provided cable. Factory reset has also been tried. Digging into the online postings, this upload problem appears to have been going on for some time and not fixed in the latest firmware update. And applies to more than the RS600 router. This performance problem appears to be mostly relevant to the home fiber optical systems. Older coax cable systems normally have their upload speeds throttled back to conserve bandwidth. So would have given it a 2 for poor performance but dropped it to a 1 for disconnecting all the 2.4G devices. Both problems are documented in other online forums and I don’t need a poor performing router.

Great quality router. Great price with it being an open box sale.
Great quality router. Great look. High speeds. Very capable. Connect great to my system. Definitely a better or upgrade to my home wireless network. I did need to reset the system Amazon didn’t clear the system. (Open Box purchase) but a steal for the price, was able to purchase a better router than I first was looking at. A big upgrade in my system.

Very good if you dig into the settings.
The app on the phone is good enough for a regular home setup but if you dig in with your browser then you have all the advanced settings. Just wish the desktop GUI was more user friendly.
