I purchased this glide tape recently and it makes me smile every time I open my curtains! I had an old IKEA curtain rod and decided to get black out curtains but the hoops it came with kept getting stuck. The rod is about an 1" in diameter so there's not much space. I wiped the rod down before I placing the glide tape on. It is thin and clear which is unnoticeable and enough to cover 85" window that I still had tape left over. My mornings and nights are so much nicer when I don't have to reach for a step stool to open/close my curtains!

Makes such a difference. Even if the curtain rings already glide, this makes it even easier and much quieter

The tape is .8 mm thick. It has has a clear layer on top that is not removed. It juts out a little beyond the adhesive; this is by design to prevent contact with the soft stuff underneath. I used this for my curved shower curtain rod. Bending the tape along a curve made the inner edge ripple a little. I was feeling skeptical while installing it, but the tape worked like a charm. The curtain pulls smoothly and doesn't get stuck at all. My rod has a mild curve, being offset by 6" at the middle. Some rods have a deeper curve, so "your mileage may vary". It's pretty difficult to remove the red strip covering the adhesive. It took me two minutes with a razor blade. The included shears are helpful for precisely trimming the end. Installation on a pre-hung rod was medium difficulty. If you're older or have trouble balancing, you might want to get help with this. Or take the rod down first.

Our curtains were really hard to close as they kept catching but this has been brilliant...no more swearing at our curtains.

Terrific little product. The red backing tape is easy to remove. The included mini 'scissors' work well. The gliding tape has strong adhesion and because it's clear, does not show when placed on top of rod. Most importantly, the product works. My curtains now glide silently and easily on the metal rod.
