After failing to completely close The Rift, Lusam and Neala travel south in search of the illusive Pearl Isle, where they hope to discover the fourth Guardian book, and return in time to try again. Time, however, is not on their side, as the dark God, Aamon, sets in motion a plan to restore his own power, and once again tear open The Rift to unleash the horrors of the Netherworld upon their world. Aysha's new inability to see his destiny, along with her prophetic warnings about a hidden realm and Neala's certain death if she enters it, all weigh heavily on Lusam's mind. Old friendships are rekindled, and new ones forged along the way, some more strange than they could ever have imagined. And a new discovery is made, one so profound that it will change Lusam's life forever, as well as rewrite the very history of Afaraon. Review: Great read! - I love fantasy books, but it is rare that I find one that I just cannot put down ( I had several nights with very little sleep before I had to go to work...). The story is full of suspense, but also interesting to read due to some unexpected turns, and it involves a good portion of humor, too. Also, I like the characters in the book. Thank you, Dean Cadman! I cannot wait for book six! Review: Enjoyed - Great story. Glad I took the chance on this book, enjoyed! Clean!

Much better
Much improved storyline over the last book with the hunt for the book having a great twist of an alternate dimension in which Lusams father is hiding with a dragon. I also enjoyed the characters Lusams meets on the island and his interaction with them was funny at times, overall a good read.

Has a twist
A good read, I love reading these books especially when life seems to be beating me down. They always inadvertently lift my spirits and bring out The adventure inside of myself and get me back on track. this one popped out in a time where, I was once again in the dumps and it is always a welcome distraction from everyday life. The books have become predictable but There are always a couple hidden twists to look forward to. Thanks for the good read dean.

Well written
A very good sequence of previous books in this series. Never a dull moment. Some surprises but still well fitted to the previous books. No cliffhanger ending for which I am very great full. I am looking forward to book six.

It just keeps getting better!
I was truly shocked at what secrets this book revealed and devoured the book despite wanting to take my time in discovering Lusamโs story. Alas, my need to know more won and here I am at the end of book 5, with but one book to go. I can already tell I will be sad to say goodbye to this story. Excellent writing. I wish the stories were more expanded upon so the journey could have lasted longer.

Always pleasant & exciting reading
Dean keeps his readers happy with twist & turns. Dome's always in difficulty while someone else is adventuring for the cause. The need is dire, as is are the difficulties. Excellent series!

Engaging storyline
I have read a few book-sets recently and most were OK but this one had me totally engaged from book one. Storyline moves quick and avoids getting bogged down in complicated and convoluted storylines, but there is enough converging storylines to keep it interesting though. Characters are very likeable too. Bought the first four books on special offer but paid full price for the 5th as I was enjoying the series so much.

Mysteries Unravelled
Really enjoyed the book Lusam: The Dragon Mage Wars Book Five, it continues the drama of all the main characters. Full of action, including some new additions. I loved the friendship Lusam has with the Orc. Great read and excellent follow on in the the series. I canโt wait to read number 6.
