50VA / 24V = 2.08 amps so yes, this would be a good candidate.

Really don’t know if it’s weather proof, I have it plugged inside of the garage. I can tell you this, I went through three other before I found this one that worked. Good luck

Pretty sure it only outputs 24v. I doubt it'll do 2.5vac
