If you DIY things on cars… it’s worth every penny.
It works fine for the few times you’d need it as a DIY guy at home. It won’t probably hold for frequent professional grade volume of jobs but to simplify and make the job safe, this will do just fine!Coil springs compressed without any difficulty on my cars, with just light duty electric impact wrench. It should be fine compressing this with hand tools too but may be tedious.

Worked great on motorcycle shock springs.
These are very heavy duty, and they worked great for compressing springs on a couple different motorcycle shocks; an '03 1200 Suzuki Bandit and a '07 Hayabusa. These springs have very little room between the coils for clamps to get into, but this tool did the job. I wrapped the contact points on the springs with electrical tape, and they didn't cause any marring of the finish on new springs. They are a little ungainly to work with if you don't have anything holding the shock itself, it's helpful to have two people to get them into place and hold them there until there is tension on the spring. There isn't much distance between the body of the tool and the clamps either, you have to be mindful the tool doesn't rub your shock/spring.With care and patience they work great, they easily stand up to the spring load and the fine thread of the adjusters makes it easy to turn them in small increments. I don't foresee ever needing any other spring compressor tool again.

Same as the Shakly spring compressor for half the price!
This is an excellent spring compressor that I stumbled opon after receiving the wrong item after ordering the Shakly brand compressor. I bought these and they arrived next day! Used on Rav4 front struts and will be using it next week to put heavier Eibach springs on my new 2022 4 Runner TDR Pro suspension to give it more lift. After using these on our Rav4 I have total faith that these compressors will handle the 4 Runner job. I did take these apart as soon as I got them and painted the threads with antiseize. I have only used these with a 17ml rachet wrench tightning the two evenly side to side. Do not use an impact or any power tool on these compressors. Take your time and work smart with these and I'm sure you'll be fine. Just becareful as bad things can happen when you put tons of pressure on huge heavy duty car and truck springs using cheap rinky dink spring compressors with power tools!

Wouldn't work on my UTV as advertised
I ordered for my UTV shock springs as advertised but, would fit as planned. Well built.

Great for smaller diameter springs
These work great on small diameter springs, unlike other compressor designs. Used it for replacing a spring on a motorcycle rear uni-shock.

They didn't work for my progressive motorcycle springs...
They didn't work with my Progressives; the hook were to large to get a bite. But I will say that these are built incredibly well. Great quality for the price. If you have bigger springs than I do, or are using these for your car suspension, you will be happy. Ended up welding some rods to the sides of the hooks to actually grip the springs and I got it done.
