Great kitchen tool for Mexican Cuisine
This molcajete is fantastic! It can fit 7+ avocados to make a delicious guacamole! It is sturdy and has a very smooth surface!

You couldn't ask for more
I have to say, this is the real deal. It's heavy, well finished, and a lot better looking than the primitive molcajetes. Some reviewers are whining about a cement or stony taste. HELLO!! It says right there in black and white that this molcajete needs to be seasoned. Spend a few minutes grinding some rice to wear away any stone dust or surface irregularity. Did I mention this is heavy?? So the only downside is if you drop it on your foot, you'll be searching Amazon for crutches.

100% granite.
It is a good size motor bowl. 100% granite. I have used it. Many times now and showing no wear so far. It has some texture so your dried plants grind down to a fine powder. Happy with this product. Granite has a good heavy feel. The density of Granite makes this perfect to a mortar bowl.
