Pocket Sized Internet Radio!
This little pocket-sized radio is great. Very portable and good wifi antenna. It also has the capability to use eSIM in case you need to use cell tower data. You can purchase data packages from Choyong that are reasonably priced if you want mobile data activated. The speaker sound is on the high end as you would expect for a small speaker but still sounds good. The FM tuner is very basic but I purchased this radio for the internet radio stations so no problem there. It is good to know that I have FM in case I am out of wifi reach. The voice search needs more work since it doesn't recognize what I am saying or just partially. The LC90 (the big brother to this radio) has a much better voice search but in the beginning it was also spotty. I am hoping for a firmware update to improve the voice search. All together, I am happy with the purchase. Update 3-22-25: The updates are very easy over internet connection. A firmware update came out today. They fixed the voice search! It works great now so no more manual searching for me! Also they added podcasts to the menus so I can save my favorite podcasts! Game changer!! The podcasts are also voice searchable! This makes this little radio my second favorite portable entertainment next to my cell phone. I find it more enjoyable for Internet radio and podcasts rather than using cell phone apps and the radio is more durable.

Major audio flaw, left channel only through speaker
This is a great little radio with a fatal flaw, only the left channel is played through the speaker, they do not downmix to mono so for me that's a dealbreaker until its addressed in a firmware fix.

Nice radio but clunky to program
I recently picked up this internet radio that has some great strengths but also a few quirks. The audio quality is solid, delivering clear and rich sound thatโs perfect for streaming stations from around the world. What really sets it apart, though, is its stunning designโitโs absolutely beautiful and looks fantastic in any room. However, programming it is a bit of a challenge. The interface feels clunky and not as intuitive as Iโd hoped, which made setup more frustrating than it needed to be. Overall, Iโm giving it a 4 out of 5โitโs a great device once you get past the initial hurdles.

Feature rich!
For the money this is the little radio that can. I just upgraded the firmware and it now supports Podcasts and the voice search now works flawless. It has USB C charging and it comes with a USB C to mini stereo plug adapter. The sound is a little better than I had expected for a speaker so small. You can add you own custom stations. It does have FM but it honestly feels like an after thought as it has no antenna and the reception is ok at best. The community is strong on Facebook with lots of people that will help answer any questions you may have. In summary it has a strong voice search feature, tons of internet radio stations, tons of podcast, just OK FM reception, It can play flac audio from a micro sd card, It supports 4g sim cards (I am using Tello data only for 6/month) and has esim as well, Wifi of course. I might have missed a few features but the point is you are getting a lot for the money here. A couple of things to be aware of. One is that the battery life is good if you COMPLETELY turn it off when you are not using it. What I mean by this is that you can turn down the volume until you feel a click and it is in a standby mode and will not last for more than a couple days in this mode. The other and better way to turn it off is hold in the power button for a few second until it says shutting down. Another thing to be aware of is that the adapter that goes from USB C to stereo headphones is not a normal adapter you will easily find and that is because it does not have a DAC in the cord. Point being, do not lose the adapter, although you can buy a couple from the manufacturers website if you want.

Nice Radio With A Few Issues
Nice little radio for listening to internet stations. Using the included USB-C to mini stereo plug adapter with wired earbuds provides a good stereo sound. A few drawbacks though. 1) It takes a while to page through and find specific stations. I may try buying one of the more expensive Choyong internet radios with multiband, to see if they can get to specific stations faster/easier, but this model takes a bit of work. 2) Several times the signal drops in and out , or out all together. The WiFi signal bars look strong, but the radio signal can still drop out. This doesn't happen often, but it's an annoyance at times. 3) This is most likely just my situation, but I have a WiFi amplifier on my second floor to boost the signal. The Choyong radio can receive the WiFi signal from the first floor WiFi with no problem. I don't have to connect to the WiFi amplifier on the second floor. I set up the radio to look for the ID of the first floor WiFi and enter the password for it. The WiFi amplifier on the second floor has a different ID, but the same password as the WiFi on the first floor. Many times the radio sees the amplifier ID for the second floor WiFi amplifier and inserts the password, instead of only connecting to the downstairs ID like I set it up. Weird because it sees both WiFi sources, yet connects to the wrong one. You might ask, "Why is that a problem?" Well, for some reason the radio can't get to the internet radio stations when connected to the second floor amplified WiFi. I get a Network Error. The second floor amplified WiFi works great for internet connection (Roku, Computer, etc.), but not with the Choyong radio. I have to reconnect, selecting the first floor WiFi only to get the internet radio stations. Not sure why. You probably won't have these little issues depending on your WiFi setup and living area, but I thought I'd mention them just in case. My three star rating is more about the time and effort to find stations. I don't know if the more expensive internet radios are easier. I'll let you know if I buy one.

My favorite Internet Radio!
This is the Internet Radio to get! I own several different brands of internet radio receivers, and I can tell you this is the best of the bunch. (Also the least expensive!). Almost any internet radio will allow you to find what you want to listen to from over 30,000 stations, but this little Choyong A8W additionally will search for Podcasts, and lets you save them into a separate folder from the stations. In fact, once you choose a Podcast, the A8W displays a list of all the episodes from that Podcaster! Another great feature is that you can search for new stations or podcasts simply by speaking: it recognises what you asked for and then you make your choice from the list it displays. The other radios require you to enter what you want one letter at a time, a very cumbersome process. Much easier to just tell the radio what you want, and so far as I know, only the Choyongs let you do this. The first A8W I received from Amazon had a very minor glitch with its rotary knob. I notified the seller, and they were very responsive: Once they determined the problem they sent me a second unit right away. So, if you want to get into Internet Radio, you should consider this little radio, not only for its attractive price but also because it does Podcasts as well as radio stations, and it's much easier to program than the other brands.

Serious Design Flaw in the CHOYONG A8W!!!
I just received a brand new CHOYONG A8W radio from Amazon. I noticed that when listening through the built-in loudspeaker, some instruments were missing from certain songs that I was very familiar with. When listening through headphones, both the left and right channels were presented in stereo as you would expect. When listening through the A8W's loudspeaker the audio from the right channel was missing! I emailed CHOYONG's technical support and they confirmed that this is how the radio is designed! This is inexcusable!!! There is no engineering reason to design any radio where half of the music from a stereo source is not fed to the amplifier and speaker of the radio!!! This is a serious design flaw! What were the product engineers at CHOYONG thinking? It boggles the mind that this has not been corrected in the radio's design and manufacturing!!! It certainly makes me think twice before purchasing any other products manufactured by CHOYONG in the future!!!

Good portable Internet radio
I enjoy this radio . The sound quality for the size of this radio is quite good .I use this outside doing yard work an it worked well.I also used it in my basement gym an had no pri connecting to my wifi. This was very impressive as my home gym is 3 flights of stairs an on the other end of my house ..My house is 3400 square feet an brick .The hardest part of using this radio is putting your password in for your wi-fi if you have a long password.. It might take you a total of a couple of min. Setup is easy other than that . Easy to read bright display an I have had very good battery life ..I played it at 50% volume for over 12 hrs an power dropped maybe 10%. I would highly recommend this radio very versatile .

Powerful device
A small but powerful radio. Sound is awesome. Internet radio works smoothly most of the time. Sometimes it hangs which may be rectified my shutting it down and again to start. FM band is not upto mark. Stations are tuned at 0.1 megahertz before the assigned frequency of the FM station . For example AIR FM Gold Delhi broadcasts at 100.1 but this radio tune it at 100.0 megahertz. Buttons and ports for TF card, SIM card and battery charging are placed at proper places. Overall a good device for those who are interested in listening news, music and podcasts of any country from anywhere in the world subject to availability of internet.Cost is a bit at higher end for customers of India. If cost is not barrier for one he may proceed for its purchase.

Good Internet player, with ample additional storage. Not very good for HiFi music.
I have been using this every day since I purchased it, so it is worth the purchase for me. However, I had originally purchased this to replace my Sonos speakers, which had burnt out due to a power spike. In comparison, there were some disappointments and some plus points. This is a small radio with a small speaker. The sound is not up to par. Quite satisfactory for News and Podcasts, but rather inadequate for music. I wanted a scheduled play feature, so the radio would play at a preprogrammed time. This feature is not available. As it has a clock and time function to stop playing at a predefined time, I wish they had also incorporated a function to turn on at a prescribed time. Though it has 40,000 programmed internet radio stations, I miss most of the stations I used on my Sonos. There is a provision to add stations with their URLs, which is rather cumbersome. On the plus side, I was very happy with the 32 GB micro SD card provision, which permits me to transfer and play 1000s of songs from my iPod to the player. It does not replace the Sonos, and at 1/10th the cost of a Sonos, it is an unrealistic expectation on my part. For the coverage as a portable pocket-sized Internet Radio and a music player, it is a good value for the price. I hope they can incorporate a scheduled play feature in a future software update.
