A fantastic, no‑subscription smart doorbell with great clarity and smart detection.
Clear, crisp video and a perfect head‑to‑toe view The first thing you notice with this doorbell is the 2K (4MP) clarity. Faces, packages, and movement are all easy to see, even from a distance. The 150° x 150° head‑to‑toe view is a huge upgrade over traditional wide‑only doorbells — you can see packages on the ground and the person standing at your door without distortion. Battery-powered but still fast and responsive I was skeptical about going battery‑powered, but Reolink nailed it. The doorbell wakes quickly, streams smoothly, and doesn’t feel sluggish like some battery models. The battery life has been solid so far, and because it supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi, the connection stays stable. Local storage = no monthly fees This is one of the biggest selling points. You can store recordings locally on a microSD card, so you’re not forced into a subscription. For anyone tired of paying $3–$10 a month for cloud storage, this is a breath of fresh air. Smart detection that actually works The AI detection for people, vehicles, and packages is surprisingly accurate. It cuts down on false alerts and makes notifications more meaningful. I especially like that you can customize motion zones and sensitivity. Two-way talk is clear and reliable The microphone and speaker quality are better than expected. Conversations sound natural, and there’s very little delay. What to know before buying Chime is NOT included, so you’ll need to buy the Reolink Chime separately if you want indoor alerts. Because it’s battery‑powered, it won’t ring an existing wired chime. Reolink’s app is great, but it’s not as “ecosystem-heavy” as Ring or Nest — which is a plus or minus depending on your preference. What I love most No subscription required Excellent 2K clarity True head‑to‑toe view Accurate smart detection Dual-band WiFi support Solid battery performance Bottom Line If you want a high-quality, subscription-free, battery-powered video doorbell, the Reolink 2K Battery Doorbell is one of the best options available. It’s reliable, sharp, and packed with features without forcing you into a monthly plan. Highly recommended.

Easy, no subscription, self hosted data
Admittedly bought for a family member to test out on their property before I made the leap from another brand of camera that rhymes with ling....anyway works well and eas super easy to setup. No complaints thus far but early on into testing it out. Family member says it fits the bill perfectly so looks like a win to me and no subscription required for you technically minded folks just look into self hosting an nvr on an old laptop and you'll be happy you went from the other guys to this.

Good video poor feature implementation
The camera has good resolution, works well as a doorbell both at night and during the day. Package detection works. I also like the fact that there is no subscription. Ok what does not: The car detection triggers and shows you video after the car is 1/2 way down the street. Or it triggers on a person right when they’re pressing the door bell. I have had the wifi feature disconnected constantly. I have a WiFi booster right next to the door. I have also made sure the camera is on the booster. I have the hub but its WiFi is so weak it can’t reach the camera. Reolink software is not the best. Connecting the external door bell chimes was a super frustrating experience. It was supposed to be super easy. But the chimes came tied to a factory doorbell. I had to reset the chimes and then pair them with the doorbell. I had to search on line what the issue was. I’m not impressed with this camera. Is a battery camera but I’m powering it with my door bell button wires. It never really worked with the existing chime. I had to get there chimes to get the system working. Even then I had to the auto nation to to get them to ring.

One of the best doorbell camera available
Pros: fast to capture events, has good features and options. Good picture and video quality. Battery life is average. Cons: It does not come with an sd card. It does have some issue replaying from local sd card storage, it takes awhile for it to load and/or fails to load recorded events. If Reolink can fix the recorded events issue, this would be one of the best doorbell camera available.

Perfect for the Price
Great video doorbell for the price. The camera quality is very good, and the head-to-toe view is a nice feature for seeing visitors and packages clearly. The battery-powered design makes installation easy, and the dual-band WiFi support is a plus. Very happy with this purchase.

Android phone, easy install and super happy so far
So I just bought this camera and wanted to share my experience with set up and an android phone. Setup: pretty straight forward, as I installed Into my stucco where my existing doorbell was. The doorbell I had was a mechanical doorbell, but the mechanical piece doesn't actually work as at some point it melted. During I stallation the app will ask you questions including if you are wiring it or going wireless and will then give you Instructions to proceed. That made setup a little easier as I didn't have to look at instructions I just did the step on my phone and clicked next. I used the provided wedge to give the camera a straighter view since my wall is angled and would point directly at the other wall. The wedge is an awesome add and helped put the camera where I needed/wanted it. Wiring it to my existing doorbell wasn't "necessary" since mine is broken, but it keeps the doorbell fully charged all the time since power is going to it. I got the reolink doorbell to go with the camera to replace the old mechanical one. Pairing the camera was easy and straight forward and the doorbell I got with it was even easier. I literally plugged it in to a wall outlet and pressed the little button and it linked with the camera with a little beep, and I set the chime in the app. Too easy. I did need to make adjustments in the app for the camera sensitivity since at first it wouldn't detect me beyond a certain point on my sidewalk. Now it will get people in the street. Phone: I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I read something about calls, but only for ios. I didn't really understand this feature, until my wife rang the doorbell. The doorbell called my phone kind of like what you would see from Facebook messenger. When you answer it pulls up a live video and you can talk to the person on your phone, so even though it says "ios only" I believe this feature worked on my Samsung S24 ultra. One last note: I bought a "Blink" SD card since it was the cheapest and have had zero issues. The reolink brand card was way more expensive, and I wasn't sure if there would be some issue with brand name. No issues, would purchase again. I love not having to pay a subscription fee.

Great Camera but missing scenes
Overall the doorbell worked well. Full disclosure I was only interested in the camera portion of the camera. The doorbell ring that the doorbell itself uses was loud enough to be heard in our most trafficked room. So I don't even think we would need a chime, test that out. As for the camera, crisp view day and night. However, what I noticed about the recordings/ detections, is that the camera would only get triggered if the oncoming person is walking directly towards the doorbell. If the person approaches from an angle, say ~30 degrees or more, the camera does not get triggered until the person touches the doorbell. I also used as Hub for the recording. The hub seemed to show some recordings were missing. But I also know for a fact that some scenes were missed that I was surprised at. It totally missed a package clearly in range but maybe because it was left on the 30 deg angle? Otherwise, easy to connect app using the hub or just using mircoSD. After a full 4 day weekend of test and heavy use, lost 4% of battery. I had placed it 4-5 feet from the ground.

Highly recommended
Great camera for the price. The video quality is super clear, even at night. Setup was easy and the app works smoothly. I also like the motion detection alerts. Very happy with this Reolink camera purchase!

Don’t buy Eufy, buy Reolink instead!
Brilliant bit of kit. We first bought a similar Eufy doorbell and were intensely disappointed with the poor battery life, poor app with limited zoning features, and either constant false motion notifications or failure to detect relevant events. We chose to return the Eufy doorbell and try this Reolink one and it’s now like night and day. The Reolink doorbell has been consistently good. No more false alarms, better detection, better picture quality, better battery life (ours has been in use for almost a month and still has over 50% battery on a single charge!), and a much more intuitive and customisable app as well. The only downside is that you will need to purchase a separate chime for the doorbell if you don’t already have a compatible one, which will increase the overall price, but I’d say the quality you get is absolutely worth it.

EXCELLENT
One of the best doorbell with features never seen in other doorbells but... But there is a problem which i am discussing with Reolink is that this new 2k doorbell the below don't work which maybe a new firmware needed of a but with the current application need to be updated. 1. Says format successfull but SD Card still not formated. 2. Album shows empty so you can not delete unwanted captures. 3. Wide view doesn't work it flips but picture still small n not Wide. The rest is 100% perfect 👌 and the best of that u can limit the detection area so card and people passing far are not detected, the detection will tell if it's a person or a car. I may return this product becuse Amazon seems they couldn't fix my problem because the DoorBell was from Germany

It's ok. No idea why there isn't a perfect solution on the market
Good: No cloud subscription, works with existing chimes, easy to install, camera is of adequate quality. Seems to drip charge off the existing wiring. Supports a wide range of voltages from the wiring. Bad: Really needs better API and integration possibilities (for example to work with Home Assistant, or Apple HomeKit - to do that you need the Reolink hub). Notifications seem really hit and miss, sometimes we get them, sometimes we don't, sometimes we get too many - at least the doorbell always works. App is the usual badly developed poor UX from China nonsense. It's a little too easy to remove.

Excellent
This product delivers exactly as advertised, and even exceeds expectations in some areas. For me, the standout feature is the exceptional battery life. It lasts so long that I honestly can’t remember the last time I charged it—easily two months or more between full charges. That’s a huge improvement over my previous device from a well-known brand, which required much more frequent charging. Overall, I’m very impressed.
