Being a novice, I found the illustration very easy to understand. I am confident that I will be able to re-produce some very lovely old furniture to new without any problems.

Very good book about improving anything around the house with different approaches from painting to stenciling, mosaic and guilding ideas. It explains everything from how to prep a surface how to use guiding techniques. Now the projects are all awesome in their execution, but some are bit ugly but do not let this put you off, to me the methods how improving old things is why i bought it, and why i m very happy with this book. Hope this review helps.

Great book to have to find much needed furniture that needs a loving facelift

Good book. Lots different techniques for various types of furniture. Not you complicated for beginners.

This book is a little bit dated, but does give some good pointers on the different paint techniques so I don't regret my purchase.

Had this book for over 12 years and and am still buying it for new friends who love a project like me. Love it.

Some good ideas in this book bought it as a gift for daughter she loves it and is already putting some of the tips and ideas to good use.

Albeit this is an old publication and some paints and products have been updated in the intervening period it provides useful guidance and ideas. Whilst the decorative tastes may have changed a bit the techniques and concepts run true.
