Surprisingly good (after mods)
Wasn't sure what to expect. After rooting, removing unnecessary programs, changing the launcher, adding a back, home, recent bar, changing google play version this box now works smooth and reasonably fast. Boot time approx 40 seconds.... The main limiting factor is Android 4.4 reducing the number of available apps. There are still plenty of options for TV and movie streaming out there. Left the basic infared controller app for standby to then power off as shutdown apps or terminal commands for shutdown only lead to a reboot... Usb port 1 seems to work best for remote keyboard input. Wifi is fast and reliable. Happy with purchase, thanks Amazon.Update: Have installed TWRP recovery and Android 5.1 rooted with Magisk superuser. Working very well, with option to jump to Android 4.4 whenever required... Great setup, very pleased. To clarify, for those happy to mod the box, it is very rewarding. For general users, there are many restrictions.Update 01/08/2020: Have installed Linux which has created a fast desktop environment. Contained within SD card and booted by holding av pin. Very good...

This should be removed from sale as it does not work as described
The box itself powers up and you get a nicely laid out home screen, that's as far as you can get.You cant update any of the apps on the device because it continually says it is disconnected from the internet - I have tried both wireless and ethernet.. with no luck whats so ever. I attempted to login into Google Play to update the iPlayer apps etc but it too said it wasnt connected to the internet and would not let me log in.I thought maybe the firmware needed updating as it has 1.0.4 installed and it thinks that 1.0.7 is available. It will not update. I checked on the OTAUpdater website itself and the firmware either never did exist or doesnt anymore.I wanted this box to be able to use Kodi with my TV Server setup in our bedroom but Kodi wont install as it too says it has no internet connection.I believe that someone had the box before me as it was not sealed and had already gone through the location and default setup menus prior to me powering it up.I shall be returning this to Amazon and I am warning any other users not to purchase it as you will not be able to get anything to work.Oh, and the manufacturer's website hasnt been updated since January 2016 either so I guess they have ceased trading.

Very Disappointed
Giving up on this box and returning it less than 3 days after it has arrived. After adding access to libraries in XBMC, all the icons have disappeared from the main menu screen. You can see in the pictures that when Music is highlighted, you see shortcuts to a number of apps. Similarly, the subscriptions menu has a number of icons for Netflix, Sky Go etc. I added a video library, and all shortcuts are now gone, I need to drill down into each menu to find the apps.My XBMC setup syncs to a SQL database so all instances of XBMC are synced in my house. This is not easily done with this device. For both issues, I contacted support through Xuum website directly, and 3 days later I have no response. The Support section of their site is pretty poor in terms of technical documentation, and a slip in the box points you to DroidPlayer website for support\downloads, so I am unsure of potential impact of installing software downloaded from there.

Disappointed
I bought this box as it said it had Kodi.Have been unable to set it up as it says it is out of date and unable to update. Believe me I have tried. (I’m reasonably tech savy) can’t get YouTube to work Either. This was the reason for purchase. Box itself works fine. Just the apps being out of date and non useable is a let down.

When powered up for the first time, it did ...
When powered up for the first time, it did not behave as the instruction booklet said, no Welcome screen, no Language choice screen, just straight into the setup screen.Eventually got the screen size fixed, and all set up, ytried the menu options, seemed to work OK.Turned it off, then turned it on a few second later to try something else, just got the XUUM loading screen ,then a blank screen.Suspect this was a returned device due to fault.Since USA English was pre selected and no Welcome screen, just the set-up screen on first power up.At least Amazon refunded the money for which I am grateful and so have continued to purchase items from them since. On the other hand XUUM, bargepole, touch, being a member of the empty-set, applies.

So much to choose from!
Box arrived on time and as described. As soon as you plug it in and start it up it walks you through setting everything up which is great. In no time at all I was able to watch TV from the large choice of channels in the Live TV section. I didn’t realise this but I can also use my Now TV subscription on this box. I also have an Android box that has now been moved to the bedroom upstairs and the Now TV app would never work on it. I love the simple menu system and the fact that there is so much to choose from and I can download and install Android apps from the Play Store. There is also an updater section on the main menu to update the box any time new software is released which is ideal for me as I am not very technically minded. So yes, a great box, lots to watch for free and lots to watch with any subscriptions you have. Very happy indeed.

Bought the XUUM after reading good things about it on youtube
Bought the XUUM after reading good things about it on youtube.Well was I disappointed when it arrived, half the apps didn't work,it constantly froze and I had to pull the cord to restart it when this happened. Also the remote was faulty, when I tried to use it with the digital keyboard it would constantly type twice, sometimes 3 letters at a time.. making it unusable.I had no choice but to return it and I ended up losing about $40 in shipping costs.I would NOT recommend buying this device.

Easy to use and preloaded with XBMC which is a bonus but Sky Go doesn't work on it and the box locks up if you power it off by the remote and you have to power cycle the unit to get it back on.
